Hey there!
I own a RedMi note 4x which is of gold color, but my problem is that i love BLACK COLOR!
So i painted the back panel black.
I will post some final images later on.
Update the paint job is done :
Pros :
Device looks better.
The paint coat gave it a good grip.
The coat turns out even on both the aluminium and plastic parts.
Cons :
The side buttons are a bit tight and mushy now.
The paint adds a bit of thickness to the Device so make sure beforehand using a case.

NO! I am pretty impressed how it turned out to be, I could've done a bit better but, considering this as my first paint job, it turned out really good and was pretty easy and straightforward.

Damn, why didn't you buy the black Mido? The fact that, was on gold mido for a week then hated the white bezels, sold it on olx for the same amount and ordered the black Mido.

I am just 15 years old, and back in march when i bought it, only gold was the option so, that pretty much explains my situation.

I tried to remove it but i guess it doesn't. I masked on the lens cover and flash cover and then painted it.

I think you will need to buy the camera glass separately. If you search AliExpress, they have a couple sellers who sell them. Search 'redmi note 4 camera'.

Got bored of painting xbox 360 controllers and cases, tried my evo..
Opinions?
Steps:
1 Disassemble phone (Take off back cover, unscrew frame)
2 mask off non paint areas
3 sand
4 primed painted with Dupli-Color Adhesion Promoter (3 light coats)
5 painted color (Krylon Fusion 3 light coats)
6 painted clear coat(Krylon Fusion 3 light coats)
7 reassembled.
In my opinion, you need a new camera. Or maybe I need to get my eyes checked. I'd ask for a second opinion.

Yeah, I wanted to get a glossy paint like underneath the kickstand.
The paint was too expensive as it was automotive paint... but i think it came out pretty good.

The camera doesn't do it justice, it actually is very slick and works well with the red inside and under the kickstand..ect..

Don't mean to thread crap or ruin your deal. But buy a black one, you will be much happier. I have a white I/O model and the smallest amount of contact and the thing stains SUPER easily and is impossible to clean.
I tried soap, bleach, magic eraser, alcohol, and a few other options and nothing works. The only thing that removed my stain was nail polish but it also completely removed the "soft touch suede" feeling and made it much more plasticky.
I strongly prefer white gadgets myself, but save yourself a headache and don't buy the white one.
Same here on the white one. The white got dingy rel quick from setting it down and dirty hands. Mine is more of an off white now. Plus its only 8gig. I need a case badly

Really hoping my Google Nexus 7 case ships this week, need to wrap this ****er up.
Here's a guide for anyone with the T-Mobile leather back....
1. go to your local auto store, pick up a container of these babies:

******this link will not work on your phone. instead, google Meguiar's/Gold Class leather conditioner wipes
2. Before going to bed..... Take the back off your phone and hold it along the edges with one finger through the camera cutout
3. Rub one of these wipes over the leather... use a medium pressure, nothing too hard, but enough force where you feel you're "cleaning" the leather.
4. WITHOUT TOUCHING THE LEATHER, lay the case leather side up for 6 hours (why I said do it before bed). Make sure the leather looks wet, but there are no streaks. I find its best to finish the application with a circular motion.
5. Wake up, put phone back together, and feel greatness :good:
Pro Tip:
1. Repeat on Days 3,4 and 5 consecutive.
2. After the 5th day, repeat "treatment" once a week.
3. Profit like a mother F

like butter. seriously, it feels much softer, and it darkened the color too which i like. looks more like leather. this is a pic from right after a treatment. doesn't keep this layer of shine the next morning...

First thing I noticed was the thickness of that aluminium frame from the grooves. Its creative but I think the wrong device for this kind of thing.

No flex or anything, this phone is build like a tank, when i started making the holes was afraid to make the holes, then i got deeper and deeper its very thick aluminum, like 2.5 mm at least if not more

That's strange. After watching those disassembly videos I had the impression the metal part was quite thin that was shaped around the plastic frame. If you could deanodize the frame to its natural color it would look superb but that's just my opinion.

If i do that it will not shine, the aluminum doesnt shine, no matter how polished i made the engravers. So its better to leave it the same color as the all the edges
I just replaced my battery for the first time and did a pretty bad job taking out the speaker grills. Battery life is now good but seeing the scratches makes me a little sad. It doesn't look like there's any for sale at all on the internet. Was anyone lucky enough to find some? Buying another broken one as a whole for parts doesn't look so easy to get either. Even if I did manage to get one and tried taking the speaker grills from that, I might just end up scratching it again lol. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks a lot just what I needed. That price is perfectly fine for me this makes me very happy. If I was better at taking them off there wouldn't be a price to pay at all but if it's only this much then it isn't a problem. Will do better the second time I take them apart

I have ordered the gold ones, because i have a golden a7. The colour matches perfectly. The blue you see are the grey ones. (I presume, because you have to choose between gold and grey)

Oh u use your a7 without a case? I chipped a part of the plastic edge not only the speaker grills but those edges can be hidden with a case. The speaker grills can't so I'm replacing those. Still a little sad it isn't mint condition anymore but that's what happens when I'm inexperienced at taking it apart. I have a golden a7 too but think I'll try ordering the other color for grills since my black case hides most of the back anyway. Only fingerprint sensor and camera are seen gold. Also I'm afraid to drop it and can't use it without a case like others lol
