G950U1 from US , how to change CSC from XAA to TUR - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi,
I live in Turkey and I have an unlocked S8 purchased from US. Now this phone has CSC as XAA and I want to change it to TUR because several features are not working:
- SPAM detection
- Video calling
- Wifi Calling
How can I change the CSC without changing the firmware ?
I am willing to root the phone if it is necessary but I don't want to change KNOX.
so if the CSC change requires changing firmare and/or rooting , I'd like to ask if it will change my KNOX counter.
Thanks.

Without flashing firmware (which doesn't trip Knox) you won't

If you want TUR then you will have to have an G950F (Exynos)
Anybody correct me if im wrong.
Unless you root the device offcourse. Then i don't know

don't we have an option to flash CSC only ?
and , which of the above CSC would let me use Video calling and CLI control features ?

None.. not possible.. these are csc for US.. since you are using it turkey.. maybe with root but i don't know

Your CSC sets itself on first boot based on the sim card in it. Unless you flash the G950W fw then flash U fw with home csc over it but idk if that method still works anymore.

what is G950W ? (I didn't hear about it before) and can I flash it without breaking knox ?
if that has my home csc, then why do I have to flash back G950U ?

thanks. will it affect my knox status ?
if yes, can I return to old status by unrooting ?
I need to use company vpn on this device and it needs to have no knox issues...

It won't effect Knox. @mrmrmrmr

I'm 100% sure my S8 says Knox 0x0 but it has partcyborg rom and root, it does not effect it because you are not messing with custom recovery and/or modified bootloaders. Good luck man if you need some help PM me.
Note: if Knox is tripped it would say 0x1 instead.

Changing "rom" does not affect Knox at least when by rom you mean /system read-only os portion. Changing boot.img or bootloader like abl or xbl is what will make Knox 0x1, and that is only if you change it to something other than one Samsung made for the device

thanks. good to know that. So I just download the rom and install it through Odin. Then I will have root without knox being tripped.
And I will be able to use my own country's CSC ?
Just 2 additional questions:
1. Do I have to factory reset ?
2. Shall I be able to receive Samsung firmware update ? (I guess not)

Flashing non carrier branded rim without tripping Knox

At the end of the month I'm going to be getting the EE version of the s7 edge here in the UK.
I want to know if I can flash the non carrier stock UK firmware as I have with my s5 without effecting Knox as I want to be able to use Samsung pay when it arrives. I'm just asking to be sure they didn't change something since the s5.
Thanks!
I'd also like to know, I have the vodafone version and want an unbranded version so I don't have to wait for updates.
Flashing firmware through ODIN will not trip knox, even if it's a different firmware version and or type.

USSD Codes not Working Anymore

I have my S7 Edge for a month now , everything used to work fine (located in Pakistan)
Two days back I flashed a new Stock Rom from UK to check country restricted apps (there were not much though) and I noticed on that ROM USSD codes were not working and neither do my sensors.
Now I reverted back to stock rom of my region, now the sensors are fine, but USSD codes are still not working. I tried the 2 ROM available for my region thrice, but still the same issue.
Please suggest what should I do?
Note: I didn't root my phone (because don't want to void my warranty since I paid extra $150 for that) nor do there's any network restriction on USSD.

You need to change your CSC to any other region or country.
The UK CSC no longer allows using the USSD codes.
I had the same problem using USSD so I just changed to a different CSC.
Once I changed to a different CSC the USSD codes worked perfectly.
Go to this link to download twrp flashable CSC's for your phone.
You will see a large selection to choose from:

Good luck,

Plus, I have my own region's CSC, but when I try to flash it via odin it gets stuck at NAND Write Start!!.. Anyway to fix it?

When don't you stop thinking that all people ROOT their phones?
"TWRP flashable CSC's": so you phone has to be rooted! Not everyone wants their phones to root, and there are people who won't want the KNOX-flag triggered!

After giving it a lot of thought you're right, perhaps that's the first thing I should ask,
maybe the reason I did not think of asking is because I come from a rooted family...
But sooner or later doesn't everyone root their phones? LOL

The root method does NOT trip knox! Stop spreading your nonsense lol! It is done with the Samsung official engineering bootloader. Again, WARRANTY VOID: 0x0 :good::good:
I have been flashing/testing different carrier's firmware and have rooted the phone pictured below 3 or 4 times now and, as you can see, it's golden. Currently it is G935U but originally it was from Sprint.
hi,
i have the same problem on my galaxy s7 SM-G930 F
NONE of the ussd/mmi codes work!
when i type the code nothing happens
i instaled the PhoneINFO app and in the CSC Code card the Original CSC Code field is empty
but all other fields are filled:
Product code:
sm2g930fzsadhr
original csc code:
firmwares csc code:
DHR
Active csc code:
DHR
Availabile csc codes:
CRO, DHR
CSC Country:
Croatia / HR
Mobile Operator:
HT HR / 21901
how can i fix my s7 so CSC Codes can work again!
How to fix invalid MMI code on samsung galaxy s7
I have the same problem on my galaxy s7 SM-G930F.
When I check Divert if Unavailable (62) using *#62# I get the error
"Connection problem or invalid MMI code."...
It turns out that the G930F (BNIB sealed) I bought was a grey import and even though the hardware G930F is international, the firmware loaded is for the UK and the Phone INFO app shows the CSC to be "BTU" (see CSC codes) . And so even though the phone is unlocked, it does not function 100% in the Australian mobile network.
To fix this I had to flash the AU firmware for the CSC code XSA found at
SM-G930F — Galaxy S7 firmware
using ODIN.
After this the CSC is updated to XSA and all USSD codes work perfectly!
No rooting required!
A bonus for having the correct CSC/firmware for my S7 is that VoLTE now works with the carrier!

Changing CSC whilist updating to Nougat

Hey Guys !
So, my phones CSC code is DDE which means Deutsche Telekom. Currently Im using Slovak O2 SIM card so i don't think its carrier locked.
Now, I would like to change my CSC to BTU because theres 0 chance Telekom will update their firmware in this century.
So the question is, can this brick my phone if something goes wrong ? I heard stories about deleting IMEI by changing CSC etc.

Download and install Phone INFO from Playstore. Check under the CSC CODE tab which country service codes are available for your specific model. Reference that with Sammobile and download the latest firmware.
(Continue ONLY if you've confirmed you have multi CSC on your device in other words more than one CSC to change to)
You'll notice there are 2 CSC files in the zip downloaded from Sammobile. Flash the one that starts with CSC and NOT the one starting with HOME. Your phone will then factory reset so make sure you've backed it up.
Ps!!! Warning!!!
Changing the CSC / product code on your Samsung device may invalidate the warranty. It may also invalidate the Samsung Knox warranty for Samsung devices
that support Samsung Knox. Furthermore, there is no guarantee that flashing the new firmware will work, even when you flash valid firmware.
In many cases, flashing the same firmware a second, or third, time may work.

Help with SM-N910H

Hi
I am noobish and would love some help from an expert
I Got my Note 4 SM-N910H on eBay a few years ago. I brought it unlocked not sure if its unlocked via IMEI or some other way (Its working with both USA AT&T sim and UK Virgin sim). Looks like it has been customized in some way because I went to Odin mode and it has binary & status custom and Knox voided.
Tried updating via settings and it will not allow it due to being modified. Tried Samsung Kies and it says its not supported.
Its currently on 4.4.4 firmware and i want to get it to 6.0.1.
I found a website with the official 6.0.1 firmware for N910H. (Cant post links but updato and samsung-firmware). The problem is there are multiple different country versions and I don't have a clue which country to pick? I want it in English. But there are none with USA or UK. Does the firmware country make a difference apart from language? I don't know what the original carrier was and there are no carrier specific apps installed. Does it have to be the same country as the original? Could I lose my unlock and not be able to use my sim card?
About Device:
Android 4.4.4
Baseband N910HXXU1ANIF
Kernal 3.10.9-2815469
Build Number KTU84P.N910HXXU1ANIF
Device Status Custom (Does that mean its rooted?)
I am happy with either official firmware or custom if its 6.0.1 or something better.
Please any tips/advice/guides or links would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

4.4.4 is the best if you want my advice don't upgrade you will regret.
marshmallow and lollipop both sucks on note 4 and once you upgraded the bootloader will be locked and you cannot downgrade back to 4.4.4.
If your device status shows custom then it means it was rooted and modified for some reasons to make it fully work out of china because N910H is chinese note 4 3g model i believe.
just pick your own country. if its not available, just pick a neighbor country.
btw.....before you try any of those, try to boot to recovery and see if TWRP is installed. if yes, good, continue by creating backup of your current rom.
if not, I suggest installing TWRP first and make a full backup.
about kitkat vs marshmellow, I'll go with MM. With MM, you got more features, you got more recent android security patch.
yes, its worse on battery. but some tweaks here and there will (almost) fixed it.
Thanks for the help
Tried installing supersu and it says its not rooted so don't know why it says device status custom haha.
Yes 910H does say its an asian model but the firmwares are not asian areas they are more like african areas? The nearest one to USA is Trinidad and Tobago i think.
Think ill just stick with 4.4.4 since I don't know what I am doing

Take your time to read on some threads. Just relax, no need to rush.
I have 910h myself, and I'm enjoying this device with root and xposed.
To root, get your cfautoroot. Its a simple process, just a few click here and there.
Custom status means that your knox is tripped. It means it has been successfully rooted before.
Trust me, its worth the time spent.

How can I change from single CSC to Multi-CSC

what trouble are you running into? flashing a CSC doesnt require root as its done in download mode and every Galaxy S phone from the S8 on are capable of taking any firmware built for any US bootloader version S device youre on. It will very likely require the patched version of odin available here
for the most part, all the CSC does is tell the phone what carrier its on which tells it what LTE bands to use, what carrier bloat to install, config for voLTE and wifi calling etc etc
