So i wanted to try RR, but can't get it too install for some reason. I've been able to flash LineageOS, but every time I try RR I get an error message in TWRP.
Wondering what steps anyone with success has used. I followed the same steps as if I were installing LineageOS.
Thanks~
When I installed RR on my LG G2 a long time ago, it let me reduce the haptic vibration. Wonder if it would do this on the PH-1 too.

I unlocked the bootloader today, I was trying to install RR with twrp 6 and the other one that is on the root guide section. They won't install it. I tried with the 7 one and bingo. The only issue I'm facing I can't get twrp to stick, is either twrp or wifi gets broken.

Yeah I just tried with twrp 7 and it worked!!!
If you're gonna flash Magisk, use Invisiblek's hacked version. Thanks to The_Automator for pointing this out to me. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=74701054

Here is what you do.
From your ADB folder
Reboot to bootloader (adb reboot bootloader)
fastboot -w (completely wipes the device)
fastboot flash boot twrp.img (flashes TWRP, I renamed mata7 to twrp to make it easier)
Reboot into TWRP
adb shell twrp sideload (this starts sideload in TWRP)
adb sideload lineage-14.1-20171130_060947-UNOFFICIAL-mata.zip (this flashes the latest RR)
adb sideload magisk_14.3_invisiblekhax.zip (this is magisk that is tweaked properly)
Then reboot. Do no reflash TWRP as you have no reason to, and it breaks stuff.
This will work everytime, I've jumped from RR to Lineage to XenonHD without any issues at all.

Just flashed Magisk 14.3 and can confirm Wifi is broken, won't turn on.
Is there a trick to get it working or is it not on RR?

You have to flash the ROM again and magisk the one invisiblek provided. WiFi gets broken because you flashed twrp.

There's gotta be a way to do it w/o having to wipe internal storage! I have 100gb of stuff I don't want to erase and then move back all the time.

Yes. The steps that Turbojugend posted are just one way of doing it. You can also just download the ROM to ur phone, then wipe, and flash it in TWRP. The only adb step u need is to flash TWRP, if u haven't done that already. If u want root, just make sure u flash Invisiblek's hacked Magisk version, which saves u from having to flash Magisk to the other partition, and keeps the boot.img intact.

Hi
i saw something interest and maybe you can confirm these, i just upgrade my 6P - upgrade=install from scratch full image from dev site.
and just after instalation i install the supersu zip (originally from site)-after i have the TWRP, i got bootloop.
than i just run the flash all .bat, and like a magic everything is worked, so i tried to install again the zip of super SU and ...bootloop.
it's just leave me the option of install from the app store, is the way of instalation make something?
thanks

I think your bootloop situation is more software-driven. Most of the people that talk about boot loops with the Nexus 6p have a hardware issue like I do.

Well keep in mind at the moment I am not rooted. As for updates when I used to be rooted I would flash the stock images for the system recovery bootloader and vendor partitions first. After that was done route would be erased and I could take the OTA update. I should also mention that I have not updated to Oreo. Given the hardware difficulties with my phone I've chosen to stay at 7.1.2

I would tend to agree with you either you have a version that is not compatible with 8.1 or perhaps you just downloaded a corrupted zip file. I can't speak for root on 8.1 because I don't have that version but I think you've done enough testing to prove your theory that it's the zip that cause your boot loop

What are you trying to say? The bootloop you are talking about is different from hardware bootloop of death in nexus 6p.
Supersu works fine for everyone,if its bootlooping for you thn you are doing something wrong or flashing wrong supersu zip.
The most of the reported bootloop of death users are not rooted.
the twrp is 3.2.1 and i used now the Magisk and it works.
the way i used is :
fastboot format userdata
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot flash recovery <filename>.img
fastboot flash system system.img
Fastboot flash vendor vendor.img
ofcurse with the right names of files..

Yes it will according to what I've been reading. I just got my pixel and have been trying to catch up with all the new a and b slots and how recovery is now baked into the boot.img, so from what I understand is that if you flash anything new such as rom or kernel a flash of both twrp and your choice of root is needed also or you will have stock recovery. So much different from my Nexus 6P. Lol. I have a lot to learn that's for sure

Yes but you can reflash twrp and magisk with absolutely no errors ,also twrp has no touch issues with the kernal that's already baked in rom!!!! It's a great rom!
Anyone else having trouble getting this to boot?
I've followed the instructions exactly. Reboot to TWRP (3.2.1-0), factory reset via the wipe menu, install the ROM .zip followed by the TWRP installer zip.
Go to reboot, TWRP asks me if I'm sure I want to do this as there's not an OS installed. I don't know what else to do other than say 'yes' and then it boots to the Google logo with the unlocked icon at the bottom of the screen and just hangs indefinitely at that point. Tried redownloading and recopying the ROM .zip to internal storage and all steps again too.
Any ideas? I've wiped this damn phone so many times and flashed the factory images so many times trying to get a custom ROM to work I'm about to give up. And my phone seems to damn janky where sometimes it does that same freeze on boot (or freezes on the TWRP splash screen) but then a quick reboot will fix it. Doesn't make any sense.

Did you let the phone do it's initial boot after deuce's script ran? Or just stayed in fastboot mode, fastboot booted to TWRP, and flash the ROM and TWRP installer zip?
Also, did you format userdata when given the option in deuce's script? And you flashed TWRP before the ROM? I was under the understanding that the ROM flash would erase the TWRP install.
EDIT: I didn't format userdata, didn't reboot afterwards (just booted straight into TWRP and proceeded), and flashed TWRP before ROM and now it is indeed booting. Just need to figure out now whether or not TWRP is still installed. Many thanks! Deuce's must have fixed something I must have janked I guess.
EDIT2: Yeah appears TWRP should be flashed after the ROM not (just) before like the DU post says. I'm back to stock recovery afterwards.
Hi,
First of all, my device info:
LeEco LePro 3 x727 on the 19s firmware.
I was following the guide found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/how-to/leeco-le-pro-3-root-t3476560 to flash recovery and root my phone. Didnt realize it was for the x720 and not the x727 (stupid, I know)
Did everything in there, booted into the TWRP recovery, flashed the root file and rebooted.
Phone turns on, logo appears then shuts down.
I can't boot anymore.
I CAN boot into fastboot mode.
PC doesn't recognize my device
TWRP's sideload feature doesnt work
I'm obviously new at this, so I can't figure out a way to flash the firmware again (I guess that's what I have to do, do not know though).
What can I do?
I now flashed the correct TWRP file for my phone. works fine.
But how do I push files to the phone so I can flash them?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Edit 1: Found this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-pro3/how-to/guide-unbrick-le-pro3-tested-t3622340
Should I follow that and see if it works? Will wait for confirmation first. Not gonna rush into it like the first time.

It actually works (fastboot I mean), but now I'm at the point where I try to sideload files but at 48% it gives me an error.
I had the same troubles, many wipes and try finally it worked... The stock file is the hardest to send, because the weight is so high.

Hmm, I did, maybe you missed it in the OP. I just wasnt able to push the files for some reason, had to flush the port (5037) to get it to work, and tried a lot of different adb versions until I got it to work with the mfastboot version of it.
Anyways, it's good to know there's another option in case I really brick it.
Thanks!

Okay so in the original post you said that you do have twrp installed, and you can boot into twrp recovery...right.
Go buy an OTG drive
Load your Rom, Gapps, and Magisk onto otg flash drive
In TWRP: Go to "Wipe" and then to "Advanced Wipe" (Check: Dalvik / ART Cache, System, Data, and Cache
Swipe to Wipe > then go to main menu. ( Note, if you get a Encryption message you will have to wipe the storage, as long as Twrp recovery is installed there will be no issues)
Go to Install then select OTG : Select the ROM file then click "Add more Zips" and select the Gapps and Magisk files
Swipe to confirm Flash
Reboot to system

The stock boot.img file is extracted from OOS and the patched boot.img is after you patch it via Magisk.

Use this if you're on OOS 9.0.5/9.0.6/9.0.7, but if you are on a higher OOS then you need to grab your stock boot.img for 9.0.10 from here and 9.0.11 from here, and patch it yourself using the instructions below.
Connect your phone to your PC using the OnePlus Cable
Reboot to Bootloader using "adb reboot bootloader" on PC while your phone is in TWRP
Rename stock boot .img file to boot.img on PC
Use "fastboot boot boot.img" on PC while your phone is in Fastboot Mode / Bootloader
Follow this guide once you are done with the above steps to root your phone with Magisk and actually boot.
I am in the same situation.
1) Got the phone. Unlocked with out-of-the-box firmware. Put TWRP on it, Magisk. All worked like a dream.
2) Time passed, I tried to play Fortnite a bit, which kicked me out due to root. Had to use Magisk Canary. Still, NO issues, all superb!
3) New firmware. The December one. Kept postponing it, but after like 2 weeks, I was like, meh, why not. Big mistake.
From this point on, I cannot root no matter what I try. As soon as I flash Magisk, it will keep booting back to TWRP.
I have even tried to grab the Canary ZIP to flash. Nothing. Tried flashing back the full base update file from OnePlus, then root. Nothing.
It's like an endless loop.
To be fair, I only use root / magisk because I need call recording. Sadly, it's been killed in Android 9, but OnePlus has a hidden feature for this. Unfortunately you have to use either ADB on each boot, or use Magisk to enable it and save you time, hassle.
Anyone has any idea, shoot.
This is a 100% unbranded, OnePlus-store-bought 8GB/128GB 6T model.
Ps.: IF you ever get stuck in this loop - you can boot your phone by using the original "boot.img".
You can grab it here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...overy-unofficial-twrp-touch-recovery-t3861482
To boot it, simply:
1) Enter Bootloader where you can use fastboot (NOT TWRP!).
2) Use `fastboot boot boot.img`
3) Your phone now will boot up.

TWRP doesn't work
Hi there,
Just like you I have installed twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v9.86_op6 TWRP recovery on my phone to flash custom ROM (as recommneded by this ROMs list), however, it doesn't work. Like, no matter whether you I to flash unofficial or official custom ROM, it says that 'Something isn't right'. I think there's some problem within this recovery. Hoping for good.

Flash the CORRECT one, for the OnePlus 6T. Not for the OnePlus 6.
Whenever I'm flashing custom rom.
It reboots to crash dump or fastboot.
I tried latest twrp as well as bluspark's.

Flashing producer.
1. Complete wipe.(including vendor,data,internal)
2. Flash twrp installer
3. Flash skydragon and twrp installer
4. Reboot to twrp.
5. Install open gapps and magisk.
6. Reboot to system.
And it goes to crash dump or fastboot.
I tired with different versions of twrp.
Different rom.
I can flash oos without any trouble

Can you try booting to TWRP and flashing it to be permanant by itself, reboot into TWRP, THEN flash skydragon alone and see if you can boot?
