Did anyone else notice that with Google Books, the last couple lines in the book is always obscured. Also the screen seems to jump a bit whenever I tap out of the reading view, maybe because of the notification bar?

While I'm loving my Transformer and finding new ways to make excuses to use it for everything I can, I've found one issue particularly annoying. The Honeycomb notification area only displays something like 5 active notifications at a time without opening the full tray. If I have an SD card plugged in, the tablet on the dock, and headphones plugged in, it creates static notifications for all of those right away. Then I have LBE Privacy Guard thing going so that's 4, and then I may have opened some music or podcasting or chat app or whatever, and that's 5. I get an email or whatever, and the real notifications that I want to be NOTIFIED about are now lost to the tray if I didn't notice them at the time.
Is there any way to hide some of the stupid "keyboard connected" or "headphones plugged in" or whatever notifications, or maybe a way to increase how many are shown in the bottom bar? There's so much empty space down there that it's super annoying to have it only displaying 5 items. My 4" Epic will show like 7!
Is there some way to improve (enable?) better swipe scrolling in apps like BBC News (1.3.4) and the News/Weather app (Google?) that comes with rooting via NookManager?
I've tried both apps, in both portrait and landscape, and have one heck of a time getting anything like a scroll swipe to work. If I do manage to get almost one screen up (after removing many layers of screen molecules) then the next swipe often sends me back to the top of the page instead of further down!
If only scrolling could be ported to the hardware buttons as a general rule instead of only in a few isolated apps
So, has anyone found a solution for these two? I'm ready to ditch them.
[SOLVED] Whoa! So in playing around with these again I discovered that they have a counter-intuitive (to me) scroll behavior. The BBC app seems to require at least one upward swipe to move the page a little and then a tiny bar appears on the right edge of the screen which is like the vertical scroll bar on a desktop. This you must swipe DOWN over to continue moving the page up. The Google news/weather app is similar but there is no bar and you just go right to the upside down scroll swipe to get the page to scroll up. Who knew?
Lately, I have some of the icons vanishing like contacts, phone, facebook etc. if I restart the phone they come back but obviously that is not a solution. Also, when i turn my phone on in the morning and unlock the screen real quick when screen comes on, gives me a touchwiz home has stopped alert. but if I wait a minute to unlock, it does not happen. Also, recently, I can not access my multi window pop up view by swiping down from the top corners either?? Any idea what is going on with the random apps icons vanishing randomly(not all the time). appreciate if anyone can help. Thanks.
I use my Nexus Player mostly for emulators but every time I start it there is this annoying top row of icons that shows recommendations/ads - sometimes they are inapropriate images from youtube videos (I had a screen from 50 shades of Gray there for example or an ugly image from some prank video). I'd like to get rid of that row or at least make it family friendly. Is there a way to do that?

Go to Settings->Apps -> Downloaded Apps and turn off notifications for Hulu, Netflix and any other app you installed that might be recommending. Then go to Settings->Apps ->System Apps and turn off notifications for, Google Play Games+Movies+Music and youtube
You will end up with a message on the home screen that says "Recommendations aren't available right now. Check back later." I would like to find a way to get rid of that message.
Thanks. It works.
I use my tablet for my kids and I despise the Freetime launcher because most of my apps are sideloaded with Google Play (paid content). So those apps won't show in Freetime. Regardless, I hate that environment but the problem I have is that my kids have a difficult time figuring out how to go back to the main screen where you need to swipe up or from the side to get the navigation bar. Is there a way to force it to always show the navigation bar?
