Hi, I have a GS4 (SCH-I545) and I was trying to get CWM recovery, so I used ROM Manager to flash it, and it only gave me the stock recovery, so I then tried Flashify, flashed CWM then I got Odin mode instead of a recovery mode, it said unable to boot in the top left, so I just tried to boot up recovery mode, still got Odin mode, and I couldn't boot my device unless I used the download mode method (Vol down + home + power to get to the warning screen, vol down to restart phone) so I guess I have no way to get to recovery mode, what do I do? Also I apologize for this huge run-on sentence.
You dump CWM, as it is outdated, and try TWRP.
You can either flash it with Odin (Instructions are on their site) or you can use flashify to flash the twrp.img.
Untick auto-reboot in Odin if you are using this method.
Is the sch-i545 from Verizon? I think it has a bootloader that may be locked, depending on the bootloader version on the phone.
Yes, it is a Verizon phone.
Now, considering the circumstances, try unlocking or patching the bootloader.
Bootloader unlock apps and methods may have no effect or brick the phone.
Usefulness thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2500826
Model: SM-G900P
I've tried every kind of rom flashing here, re-partitioning, recovery images, etc.
I really just want to get to the stock recovery mode with out the auto boot loop.
Please help.
What else do you need to know?
Try flashing TWRP 2.8.7.0 with ODIN, and boot into TWRP recovery
If you can get into TWRP, you have a very powerful recovery with a lot more options than stock, to try and get things working again before going back to 100% stock - if that's what you're aiming for

The flash seem to work via ODIN. See image below.
But it is still stuck in a boot loop for normal booting or for recovery mode.
Am I using Odin incorrectly??

A lot of newer S5s do the same thing (Except they usually boot back into stock recovery, but as yours isn't working, same thing)
Follow this guide (Using the correct version TWRP for your model S5)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64961009&postcount=2
You can ignore steps that are not relevant to flashing TWRP, or follow them all for a rooted phone (Apart from reactivation lock as you can't boot yet)

I followed these steps:
"3) boot into download mode.
4) Odin flash TWRP 2.8.7.0 (specifically this version).
5) DO NOT allow phone to boot, (uncheck auto reboot in odin and if necessary remove the battery as soon as the TWRP flash has completed) then.....
6) boot directly into recovery. (Vol +, Power & Home button combination)"
Although, they were not very specific....
To flash with odin, I used the AP button and did not let it auto reboot. Removed battery immediately. tried to reboot in recovery and saw the same issue.
I think I need all files.
BL
AP
CP
CSC
and possibly to re-partition with a PIT file
You say in the first post you have already repartitioned?
PIT file is for repartitioning
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=2799613&d=1402839135
Extract to .pit, add to PIT section in ODIN, add ROM to AP section, flash both together
You can try older versions of ODIN for TWRP to, some people have success with version starting 3.07 > 3.10.7
I was able to do the PIT and the TWRP at the same time.
Although, my phone said "SECURE CHECK FAIL : pit" on the screen, it seemed to do everything.
But upon reboot to try to get to Recovery (power, home, Vol+), it no longer waits and reboots/recycles. It fails with a message that says "Could not do normal boot." and send me to Download mode.....
If I try to boot normally, I still get the boot loop....
I just used the PIT file I used last time and it's back to where I was when I started this post.
Endless reboot cycle...
Maybe the bootloader needs to be flashed?
Ok. My issue with the failing pit (and any other failures from Odin) was a combination of using a bad version of Odin or a bad version of the tar or pit files.
I am able to flash the latest stock rom g900p OK4 just fine.
I can flash twrp just fine as well.
But the boot loop cycle still remains.
I believe I know exactly what I need here and it's the stock OK4 boot loader.
Here's an Odin flashable OK4 bootloader for the G900P. https://mega.nz/#!9ItUDZ7C

Bootloader file was exactly what I was asking for. Thanks.
However, it did not solve the problem.
Boot loop cycle going on still after stock BL, Ap, PIT all flashed....
Any other suggestions ???? Please. From anyone?
I'm sorry to write in this old topic, but I want to know if you solved your problem, as I'm having the same trouble. Everytime I turn on the phone it stucks on bootloop, and after 5 to 10 cycles it starts. When trying to enter to Recovery it stucks on bootloop and never enters. I've tried with TWRP or Philz CWM but it just doesn't enter to recovery :'(
I have rooted g-7012 and i want to flash twrp recovery via odin. I followed all steps given in xda forum but it won't boot into recovery. It automatically goes to odin mode and says "could not do normal boot."

If you are in download mode why don't you just flash the recovery .. download the TWRP .tar file and flash it via odin

Bro, I have done flashing the .tar file. And the phone works normally but it doesn't open recovery mode. Whenever I try to boot into recovery mode, it says " cant do normal boot " and goes to download mode.
Ok that's right .. in your first post you wrote "want to flash"
Anyhow have you tried flashing some other recovery like CWM and then again flash TWRP. You should redownload TWRP tar file again.
Please don't click any other option in odin that are not mentioned

Buy a jig to go on the download mode isn't too much expensive and then flash your stock rom using odin
I already flashed with stock ROM via Odin and it goes in download mode but same problem. I want to hard reset device but doesn't go into recovery mode.....help
Last option would be to extract the pit-file from the 4-file csc package and load it toghether with 4-file firmware in odin, tick re-partition and hope for the best.
If that won't work I'm afraid that your nand is damaged beyound repair, or some other partition is corrupt.
Hey, xda forum........
I am having a problem with my galaxy grand 2.
The basic story is I cannot turn on my phone and
This happened after I flashed TWRP recovery.
flashed TWRP recovery --> still boots... cannot boot to recovery
attempted with CWM recovery --> now cannot boot.
If I attempt fast boot mode --> goes to download mode // shows could not do normal boot
if I attempt recovery boot mode --> goes to download mode // same
if I just power it on --> music of "over the horizon" comes out but suddenly stop at the point it shouldn't and get stuck in boot loop
I remember the last boot (after CWM attempt) showed
--> partition damaged would you format
so I press "yes" and that was the end of my galaxy grand.
I was flashing recovery images in AP option (Odin) for several times and I have no luck so far.
does Any guy here know what's wrong?
Just Flash stock rom via odin...and then flash the correct TWRP for grand 2 SM-G7102 Or SM-G7105...Then Select The TWRP To AP Option In Odin then restart The device
ok then.....
