Dear forum people,
I have been looking around for a couple of weeks and I'm closing in to the problem I have.
I want to give away cardboards so that patrons can see our installation from our website . This is a WordPress site with VR-view plugin.
My frustration comes from the fact that my 360° images (taken from a gear360 2017) are ok on the web AND on an iPhone with a simple cardboard viewer (close to Google i/o2015).
Why does it look like it is not calibrated on my galaxy S8+ (it makes me squint) ?
I have used the VR Calibration app form AnRaEl (see playstore) and generated the QR code from the Google site. But even this does not work.
I also tried to activate the 1st and second VR flag in chrome://flags in ChromeDev
Images and videos from the Cardboard app appear OK, but not the images from my website (in Chrome, ChromeDev, Firefox).
Can anyone help ?
[edit] it looks okay on a friend's galaxy S5, but it's not a matter of size since the iPhone 7 of the other pal is A-OK. Also, a 360° video runs on the apple's but stops on the S5 when fitting it in the cardboard viewer. Still not solved...
i have the same problem, but with apps that are not in cardboard, any solution?

Hello!
I've been looking around the web and it seems that not all Android devices can utilize the Amazon Instant Video App (Prime Video). What a bumper for me since I don't use Netflix/Google Video.
Getting the app to work was a whole issue by itself. I'm only limited to browse through the movies selection. Every time I try to play a title, the app crashes.
I was wondering if anyone was able to find a fix to make it work on their M.O.J.O?
I have tried to stream videos through different browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Dolphin) not to avail. Amazon really seems to not like competition to its own devices.

Same thing happens with Crackle app.
I know Google Video works (tested), not sure about Netflix.
Here are some snapshots of what happens in the attached files.

I was going to try on CM12 lollypop, but it's not on my google play store.. I'm guessing due to region.

Thanks for the try. Well Amazon makes it hard to find it. You first need to download their own AppStore app through their website, then download Prime Instant Video via the app.

Thanks for the info, it didn't occur to me that the app would be in Amazon's own app store.
I'll try it out sometime this week.
Amazon offers no support for "Tablets" outside of their Kindle/fire line. That's not saying it can't be done I have it up and running on both of my MOJOs. Problem is I don't remember exactly what I did. I know I had to get the Amazon Phone (not the tablet) .apk from Aptoide. If you Google "Amazon Prime for Tablets" you should find what you are looking for. If not I will see if I can't recall exactly how I did it.

I wish it could work directly via the Prime Instant Video, but this makes my MOJO more useful than just playing ASPHALT 8: AIRBORNE.

Good link:good:
Best advice, it's too soon to shell out a ton of money for this technology.
I spent hours on end sniping a Android ADT-1 on eBay. I opted for this model because of the specs. Yes it runs Amazon prime video, but you're stuck using the dolphin browser. It works perfectly... But I already have a computer or laptop or tablet that I can connect to my TV. It makes no sense to not have the lean back experience.
To you video streamers out there and want for sure access to all the headline apps, just get the Amazon Fire TV or the stick. I own the stick and it's great. But wish I had the usb port for more flexibility.

You're not wrong. The device becomes an extra load if you end up using your computer most of the time to access Prime.
However, I got my MOJO while it was selling on Newegg for $99.00 couple of months ago. This was a bargain worth the purchase.
LS,
Samsung Galaxy J3 with Android 5.1.1 is missing the "screen mirroring"; can i still get it enabled without any 3rd party application...?
Disappointed
I bought the J3 2016 and have been trying in vain to find a way to mirror screen but sadly samsung have removed the function from the phone.
I've tried apps from Google playstore but still no joy....sad to say mirror screening just isn't possible.
Well there's sort of a way
If it's a video from YouTube or anywhere on the web and you DO NOT have a screen mirror option you can get an app from the play store called VIDEO WEB CASTER. It's pretty easy and it's good enough to get the job done until there's a better option later on. Apps evolve every day...
Although I still consider GearVR being the superior solution, Google ahs come a long way from Cardboard. At the very least enabling Daydream reduces jittering in cardboard apps and there is some cool exclusive content is available.
Guide:
You need a Nougat rom.
You need to be rooted.
Follow the instructions in this post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/5hno6u/got_daydream_to_work_on_my_5x_might_work_on_other/
Using a root explorer app, navigate to /system/etc/permissions/handheld_core_hardware.xml.
<feature name="android.software.vr.mode" /> is already enabled.
<feature name="android.hardware.vr.high_performance" /> is commented out, change accordingly.
Install Daydream app. http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/daydream/
Install Google VR Services. http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-vr-services/
Install Daydream Keyboard. http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/daydream-keyboard/
Reboot. If Daydream app was already installed before editing handheld_core_hardware.xml. you need to clear app data and cache of Daydream and Google VR services.
Enable NFC. Charge the Daydream Controller.
Run Daydream app and follow first time instructions. If Games are availalbe inside Daydream you did everything right.
Things working:
All media consumption apps.
Most games including Gunjack 2, Underworld overlord.
Not working:
Need for Speed Unlimited VR. crashes with black screen.
Issues.
Heavy sideward drifting. May be caused by a controller issue.
Occasional flickering.
Double vision especially in Gunjack. In this case use a headset with lens distance adjustment.
Please share your experiences.
Only two issues with this guide for me.
1. No root
2. No Nougat

Cardboard is just a poor plebs gear vr. I think its actually made for emerging markets
I am talking about Daydream which offers a similar experience to Gear VR and a Wiimote-like remote controller .
i bought a daydram view.
i bought need for speed no limits vr. (50% sale i'm a big fan of this series)
i followed this guide -> https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...ream-vr-fully-running-on-op3-oxygenos.479505/
i also tryed to set this ->ro.product.device=sailfish
and this -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo.../spoofing-daydream-compatible-device-t3534943
no luck
this is the error i got in Need for Speed VR (logcat) ->
"failed to initialize async reprojection, unsupported device"
i hope someone get it to run!!!
btw. this also does not work https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wb.fantasticbeasts.vr
Doesn't work for my either. Done all the above. Tried pixelify, sailfish etc etc.
Either I just get a black screen with white vertical separator and sound but no video
Or
I get the game running but in 2D mode and not split screen.
I have spent way too much of my time trying to get it to work. I wonder if it only works on Snapdragon variant of S7 Edge as I have the Exynos version.
Once I got YouTube VR to briefly work where I could see an image duplicated split screen but it was not moving. Almost as if there was no gyro sensor.
I really hope someone can put me out of my grief with a solution.

- Netflix VR

At least Netflix and Youtube VR works (downloaded from apkmirror). But the S7 is heavily drifting.
Hello xda enthusiasts!
Today I tried to cast/share my photos taken with LG G6 directly from my phone to the Samsung Smart TV (UE48H6770). I used the cast/share option (button) that is built-in the default LG G6 gallery application.
The picture was displayed on my TV, however instead of proper BIG (full resolution) picture, it looked like the thumbnail. I double check the picture details (3120x4160) on the phone and that shown on the TV (360x480)...
Has anyone encountered the same issue? If yes, were you able to fix it?
P.S. I found another person with the same problem who posted it on AndroidCentral
Thanks!
ha,ha, I noticed that myself. I was puzzled why they all appears to be small image and not full size. never really solved it, but would be interesting to know what the solution is.

I know it's old thread & also i don't know whether you find the solution.
You should use 'Screen Sharing" option.
You can find it under toggle menu.
@sagor1,That's exactly what I have ended up doing, however this is far from perfect. Sharing screen didn't show pictures in full when mode (at least on my TV).
I thought sharing directly from gallery app (I assume it uses DLNA) would be a better option, but it turned out to be useless - maybe due to DLNA implemention of LG...

Thanks. I thought I would not need to use separate app, just to share photos on the TV. However looks like due to lack of standard for DLNA each vendor has different implementation.
I'm wondering if this problem doesn't exist on LG smart TVs
Sorry I'm new here, not an expert on the protocol, all I know is I have quite a bit to learn. OK I have an Amazon Fire 7 tablet. When I got it the Zoom app was available on the Amazon app store so I installed it, I'm pretty active on Zoom (at least 2 3-hour meetings a week) and the battery on my poor iPhone wasn't keeping up and the screen was too small. (I have since installed Google Play Store too.)
But there was one principle issue, the display would only show 4 participants per screen, I would need to swipe left to see the fifth and higher participants, and UNFAILINGLY when I then swiped right again I would lose visibility of ALL the participant videos, and the ONLY way I found to restore it that worked was to sign out and rejoin, which is problematic when you wind up having to do it 10 or 12 times a meeting!
So finally I called the problem into Zoom, they reviewed the session logs and said they found no problems so the problem had to be that I was "attempting to install Zoom on an unsupported OS". EXCUSE ME?? If you folks didn't WANT Zoom to be installed on Amazon's tablets then why the he** did you let them put it on their app store, sounds like time to issue an injunction to me...!
Anyway so Zoom has determined they "don't have to fix" the problem, so what I'm trying to figure out is whether the Zoom problem is likely to be in the "launcher" or something else that I can install a different version of (and maybe you could kind of point me in the right direction here somewhere to find the instructions to do that), or if I CAN'T continue to use the tablet how the heck does one find a tablet that is "sufficiently Android" that Zoom ACTUALLY SUPPORTS THEIR OWN PRODUCT??
