Hi, I hope I am at the right place to ask about this device.
I found a good deal on this 7" board, and saw that it shipped with the "new" Android v 2.3
However, I can't access the Android Market with it (is that obvious???). I think that without access to the largest app marketplace, I could as well return the thing. (the "replacement" market on it features zero of the apps I want/need)
I could go with a more expensive Samsung tablet where everything probably works out of the box, but I bought this for my kids to play with, so I felt I had no need for all that 3G/GPS/advanced stuff
Could you please advise me on how to obtain market access on this device, if at all possible? Most of the info I've found is on other/related tablets, with older versions of Android.
Is it possible to:
- install a compatible custom ROM (something that works on a tablet like Advent Amico, but it has newer hardware?)
- root the device and then do some magic with it?
- download some app that magically installs market?
- grab the apk's directly from market and then install them (aka "sideloading"?)
I'd really appreciate help on this!
I did a little research on "point of view pro tab 2" thru Google and came up empty (except for deal offerings).
I, personally, would avoid this tablet. On google I didn't find a single forum/board about this tablet, so atm the developing community is nonexistant, so you're getting a slim chance to ROOT your tablet and get the "Google Experience" TM --> Market, GMail, GTalk, Maps,...
If you really want a decent 7" Tablet then get an Archos A70 or its clone Prestigio PMP7070.
Archos also has 10" Tablets A101 (Prestigio PMP7100C), but Advent Vega/ViewSonic 10S/POV mobii are all Tegra 2 based (dual-core with NVIDIA technology (think GeForce GPUs)).
There are alot of similar models and brands in the tablet world and some are ROOT-able and some are not and not a single of these "cheap" tablets has the Google Experience, because that costs extra money for the manufactuers.
I would strongly recommend to check if the device is ROOT-able before you purchase it, this basically applies to any device nowadays: Routers, Phones, media players, Consoles,...
Update about the apks from the Market:
I installed the Market apk on my tablet and it didn't show some apps/games in the market. So I've installed them thru my SGS (phone) and then made a backup (Titanium Backup, Astro Filemanager, there are lots of backup apps on the market) and then transfered the apks from my phone to my PC and then from my PC to my tablet and normally installed them thru a filemanager (like Astro).
You just need to enable "Unknown sources" under Settings --> Applications and you're all done!
yani2000, thanks so much for your help.
I was hoping that the tablet was common HW, just with a obscure branding!
Btw, here's some info on the board. I was looking at the Archos, but it had less RAM and not 2.3, so I thought the POV was a better out of the box (guess I was wrong...)
Operating system Android 2.3 Gingerbread
Processor Telechips 8803 Cortex A8 - 1.0 GHz
System memory 512 MB DDR2
Storage memory 4GB NAND Flash
Display LCD 7" 800 x 480
Touchscreen Capacitive 2-point multi touch
WiFi 802.11 b/g
Hi there.
The screen res on that screen is very low even for a seven inch tab, you should be looking at 1024x600 as a min. 800x480 is the same as my 4 inch phone. Also forget gingerbread, honeycomb is what you want for a tab. Try to find a POV Mobii 10 inch. Vegacomb will install on that and its only around 250 euros.
PEACE.

hi there!
i'm thinking of buying a presticio 7070c tablet, but i'm unsure if it's possible to root it, or to install any custom rom, or at least change the launcher app. that prestigio's launcher is terrible!
also i'm wondering if it's possible to install regular android market, and then, afterwards to download and install apps from it?
any help is appreciated!

Hi!
You're actually on wrong XDA forum.
To get all the nice treats visit this XDA's sub-forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=875
Gen8 (Generation 8) are the forums for you!
Generation 9 is a good 8"/10" tablet forum with HoneyComb out-of-the-box.
To get more info about ROOT click here.
And here is a guide on how to ROOT.
If you have any questions feel free to ask in that forum.
And for the butt-ugly launcher (I would be ashamed to develop such a launcher), I think you can always install a custom laucher from the market like: GO Launcher EX, LauncherPro, ADW Launcher (I just pointed out few of the most commonly used launchers).
And for the apps+market thing... when you ROOT your tablet you can copy market, maps, contacts, gmail, talk, youtube,... and some other google framework and services related apks to your system/app folder with root explorer and after reboot you'll get the google experience.
Or you can install a custom ROM and let an experienced developer handle all the details.
Well tbh, from my research its based on the ly-f tablet. i'll post a thread when i figure out more.
Also, the tablet comes pre-rooted. just install superuser.apk and rock n roll.
[HowTo] Install Android Market on Point of View ProTab 2
I had the same problem with the Point of View Mobii 7" Tablet ProTab 2 (TAB-7C-4GW-1). After a couple of hours, I found a solution. Here is what I did:
1. Update the firmware/ROM to version 2. Download from Point of View homepage (I can't provide the URL due to forum limitations , but Google "TAB-7C-4GW-1 firmware" and it should be the first hit). NOTE that following the instructions will also perform a factory reset and remove all data. (The reset in the last step means putting a needle in the tiny hole on the back)
2. Configure Wi-Fi and connect.
3. Open the YouTube app and go to My channel. This will require you to log in, so select to add account and provide your Google credentials. (Adding the Google account in the device Settings didn't work for me, at least not under firmware 1)
4. Put LauncherPro and Home Switcher on an SD card, for example by backup up some other device with MyBackup (or maybe transfer to the tab via USB?). Open ES File Explorer and install LauncherPro. Then install Home Switcher, launch Home Switcher and select to launch LauncherPro. Now on the home screen of LauncherPro there will be a Market icon. Tap it, accept the terms - and your're in!
For me this worked on two separate devices with different Google accounts.
i picked up a POV mobii tegra 2 10.1 from my local computer shop for £132. it comes with froyo 2.2 and i installed youtube app and few games on it. im shocked how good the graphics are on games like shadowrun, riptide and jelly defence.
iv did try putting viewcomb 3.2 on the device but there were a lot of bugs, games like shadowrun did not work on it then either. vegacomb doesnt work, it just ends up at the vegacomb boot video animation and goes nowhere. so i went back to stock firmware. shame really since viewcomb had very good scrolling speed but it bricked itself with a usb boot loader message.
still trying to fina a way to get the proper market working with stock firmware.

Did you try any of the custom ROMs that are based on v2.2?
Like Corvus5, Modaco ROM or a Preformance Pack that goes on top of stock firmware.
no i not tired those, although with stock firmware 2.2 everything seems to work fine for me, i dont ge thte scroll speed that honeycomb offers but the 2.2 is more stable.
however i have an issue with motion sensor games where they dont register the tilting on 2.2 firmware but work fine on honeycomb.
odd.

the performance pack is very old, its for v1.08 rom, im using stock 1.10 rom.
corvus5 and modaco rom dont have a nvflash installer so the install method seems complex so i didnt bother with those roms.
me hoping VegaICS improves and works out well, that i would like to be using on this tablet. or who know, windows 8 in the future?

So I had no problem installing or physically using the market app. The problem comes when I search for apps in the market. Every time I see a thread about must have apps I search for said apps and only find half or less. Real racing 2, Gta 3, even Google f'in maps all come up with nothing. I have tried every version of the market I can find to no avail. I figure there must be some other problem, and I just don't have the intelligence to figure it out. Is it possible the market checks for device compatability? Regardless, you guys are smarter than I can ever hope to be and seem helpful for the most part.
I would tell you what I rooted with and what market version I am using but it all got lost when my last laptop crashed. Yes, I know, longest post with no info ever. My bad.
UPDATE
I no longer have a computer and did not get any further in my quest to get the full market before my computer died. I probably could have just edited this post instead of posting a reply (third post) but I don't use forums much. So if you know of a way to get the full market without a computer it would be most appreciated.
Check out this thread.
Now, that developer has stated that he will not support stock, so I would not use his build.prop if you're using stock. What I did was to modify my own build.prop. Comment out (put a pound symbol: "#" at the very start of the line) any lines in your build.prop that start with either ro.build or ro.product, and add any line starting with those strings from the linked build.prop.
Now, realistically, I would expect that the linked build.prop to work on stock, but the developer has explicitly said you're on your own if you try. You can mess up your device by playing with build.prop, but the ro.build & ro.product lines should be relatively safe to change. Plus I have my own tweaks I prefer, so that's all I took from his version.
Check out the first post in this thread. I found this as a work around for the not compatible crap.
You have to follow it to a T
I just installed Real Racing 2 on my KF running CM7 Short version... Pay attention to browser vs market....
You may need to go to market.android.com in your browser first and log out if you are already logged in. (cookies)
1. Using browser google the app name.
2. Scroll until you see the link to the app on market.android.com.
3. Click that link in browser.
4. If you get a pop-up that asks to use browser or market, select browser.
5. A pop up will ask you to sign in. Sign in.
6. It will then ask you what to use to complete action, browser or market. Select market.
7. There will be an install button on the left of the page that describes the app, reviews, etc. Select install and then accept permissions.
8. It will download, but there will be an exclamation point at the top saying it is not compatible with your device, but if you look in your status bar, it will show that the app downloaded by the little check box inside a square icon.
9. Click that and finish the process. When I clicked the link in status bar, it then prompted me for the full 600 meg additional download for the game.
It finished the download and installed. I am now looking at the "Player Settings" screen and music from the game is playing on the KF.
The link posted above was for installing magiclocker main which, if you go through the normal process using the market app, is not available and doesn't come up in search . But if you do it as described, it will work.
(now to uninstall Real Racing 2 'cause I'm not a gamer)
Yes I am bringing this back from the dead because I have made no progress. It is only my fault though. Long story short, my fire is my only connection to the Internet now. I have no computer and did not get to flash a new Rom or update my build.prop before it died. Same general question as before about the market, but with a new more difficult situation. I figure I am screwed but I don't like to give up easily. Thanks again.
I got around this by using the GR6 rom (MoDaCo)... It has changes to it to make the market think it is a Galaxy Tab...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1439916
I see that version 7 is out now... have not tried it... might flash it today.
o Based on the 6.2.2 release
o Heavily optimised and compressed to take as little space as possible and perform as fast as possible!
o Includes Google Services Framework and Google Play Store, masquerading as Galaxy Tab for maximum app availability
o Optional Google Books / Music
o Network location support (for Maps etc.)
o Rooted with Superuser
o Insecure boot image (for 'adb remount' etc.)
o init.d support
o TweakDeck Twitter client Kindle Fire version (can be uninstalled)
Hi all, recently bought one of these nice little devices myself. This is how I got on, not all that's supposed to work actually does.
Rooting with Touchnnoter 2.1.31 was easy enough and I soon found SearchMarket to access Android Market. What does work: Kindle, QuickPic, AdAway, DropBox, GoodNews
So I could be reading books and news, but I'd like to have a bit more, namely web access!
- ReadItLater/Pocket is shown as purchased in Market, but can't be installed
- Stock browser shows starting page as Error404, directly opening another page works first time only, but links or scrolling don't. Plus it often crashes.
- pre-installed Opera Mini didn't work, so I uninstalled and reinstalled:
a) only clicking "accept" REALLY fast allowed me to open it at all, otherwise it'd crash
b) spiegel.de and BBCNews always crash, even with images turned off I only briefly see the page layout
- Opera Mini Next doesn't open,
- Opera Mobile and Evernote are supposed to work, but don't appear on SearchMarket
- Dolphin Browser often crashes as well, plus no add-ons can be found
Any ideas why this is happening?
Plus: can anybody tell me how to access the external sdcard? I tried several file managers, activated root access etc. but have never been able to access /mnt/ or external_sd or emmc. So I haven't been able to sideload any apk either.
Thanks!
I use Opera Mobile, I found the apk somewhere (not on Market).
The SD card appears as /sdcard in the system (i.e. shell or ADB).
It is the second device mounted on the USB (i.e. desktop).
If you are writing an application you need the permission android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE.
There's also Instafetch as an alternative clipper.
Regards market errors, it's nice to do adb installs anyway, just a matter of getting hold of the .apk, possibly from AppBrain. OperaMobile (not to be mistaken with the lighter streaming OperaMini) works well for me. Perhaps there's a apk direct from Opera available.
It sounds like you have a problem with market. Perhaps adblock could be interfering? As I say, check out alternative ways to install in the interim.
The last couple versions of opera mini don't work but luckily I backed up my apps via airdroid and have a version that works. Readitlater/Pocket does not work because their recent updates have dropped android 2.1 support. Have you tried es file explorer? In ES you tap the home icon on the toolbar and select Phone the sdcard should then appear as a folder

I see both Opera Mobile and Evernote through SearchMarket.
Try to see if you can find Opera Mobile directly from Market (not SearchMarket)
Market -> App -> Communication -> Top Free
Opera Mobile is on the second page.
Alternatively you could go to Google Play on your desktop/laptop
and see if the Nook shows up on the devices (its called Phone).
Then install them on the website for the device, and a few seconds later you will see them install on the nook.

Browsing and installing from the webstore is definitely way faster than on the Nook.
Also, I use another app called Quick Search Widget. Launch it as an app or from the widget. It can search the Market, and also doubles as a Google/wikipedia/... search widget.
Wow, thank you all for your tips - quite a kick-start and steep learning curve!
SD card: my bad, as "sdcard" was available. But as I recently formatted this drawer on my SGS (wanting to format the external sdcard, but wiping the OS...) I was extra cautious. Settled.
I downloaded adb and installed apks, great! I still don't get it how to do this on the Nook itself. There's something in NookColorTools about the app having to be in /system/apps/ or else it won't work...
And I'm quite proud to have figured out why Market didn't work! There was something wrong with the content filter: although set to "all", a lot of apps were blocked. Having switched to "mature", I'm in business with Evernote and trying out Instafetch.
BTW: @Schneicw, you're the best! The working OperaMini.apk was the best birthday present (couple of days early)! You wouldn't happen to have an old ReadItLater.apk lying around as well?!?
Next, I'll give the ebooklauncher a shot. Fingers crossed!

You probably do not have install of Non-Market apps enabled.
Bring up NookColor Tools, and you will see check box with "Allow Non Market Apps". This might be checked (but still not working).
So you need to uncheck this box and recheck it.
Also try out remote install of apps from the google play website play.google.com/store/apps from a laptop (you need to login with the same account as on your nook), I find that really convenient...

I've got my Nook Simple Touch rooted with latest Touchnooter. The thing is, I don't want to use the Android Market at all. I want to install the F-Droid repository instead, as it has nothing but Free Software Apps, and has satisfied all my needs on my Droid phone, and I would prefer to keep as much of my data away from google as I can.
I have the FDroid.apk file. But I can't understand how to install it. I have the box (about allowing install of outside apps) in NookColor Tools checked. But I don't know how to get to the file on the SD card to start installing it.
What is this I've been hearing about installing with adb? Does that mean you can't just go to a file manager, select the apk, and begin installing? Because that is essentially how F-Droid installs its apps. Just does it all on its own, you just click "Install". But if that method doesn't work on the NST. Than F-Droid won't work
Any help would be very appreciated. God Bless ya guys!!
P.S. also the stock browser doesn't really work right. just goes to a black screen after a couple different web pages. And Opera (the one installed by Touchnooter) won't open at all. Just flashes the screen once, then stays on the home screen.
We really need a custom made CyanogenMod Rom!!! I get the feeling it would solve alot of our issues.

You should be able to connect the nook to your Windows machine and copy the .apk onto the sdcard.
For browser Opera Mobile works for me.
TouchNooter also has the Amazon Market, which you could use.

well as a first note, I would like to say I have no Windows machines at all. I am 100% Linux
But I already have the apk file on my SD card. Its just I have no idea how to get to the file to install it. I thought that the app "Super Manager" was a file explorer/manager of some sort. But it does the same thing as Opera, I click on the icon in the App drawer, and the screen just flashes once or twice. Then returns the the home screen. No thing saying that it has crashed or anything.
So that is where I'm stuck.
Also, as a side note, I wish to use the F-Droid repository, because I want to use nothing but Open Source (Also known as Freedom Based) Software. Including markets. It's the number one reason why I use nothing but Linux on my machines. Linux is also faster than Mac or Windows, but won't get into that can of worms right now. hahaha.
You could write your own file explorer Jk
adb install seems to be the way for you.
Google "ADB download install", there should be a ton of links.
However now you will have software created by google installed/running on
your linux machine. (ha ha).

Lol Well I have next to zero programming knowledge. But when I find the the best open source file explorer I'm definitely gonna throw the dev more than a few bucks for his hard work.
I'll look into adb installing for now. Just really hope and pray we get a Cyanogen or some other real Rom ported to NST soon. I think would solve all our issues with a totally different rom on it.
P.S. yes, having proprietary google software is gonna bug the crap outta me!! lol
God Bless ya guys!
I have a peloton Spin Bike, and it can with a screen where your able to stream workouts on through the companies subscription. The screen is operated by Android Jellybean: 4.1.1.
OK, so here's my challenge for anyone that,s willing to accept!
Problem: when you turn on the peloton bike screen your locked into the peloton app, and the you can't get out of the app to do other things... For example, watch YouTube or something else.
Challenge: I'm sure this is an easy hack, but if anyone can figure out how to unlock this. You be compensated for your efforts!
I'd love to be compensated for the effort, but really you can just Google the command sequence as it's pretty popular to install Netflix and watch movies rather than consume the Peloton content.
I successfully extracted the Peloton APK from the bike and installed it on my Galaxy S6. The issue is that it won't go past the login screen. I figure one of two things is happening. Either the app is calling a procedure to validate that hardware on the bike is working before logging in, or two, the Peloton server is validating the login request is coming from a bike instead of another device via a token or validation of operating system version, etc.
pretty simple to do, go to about section of the bike, tap on the lower right corner area of the about screen, which should take you out of the app into a main android area....after that open the browser, download apk installer and then download whatever apps you want to add to the tablet
hey guys, just bought a used peloton and have two really specific questions:
- has anyone reset all the data through settings? If so, what happens?
- I'm not seeing the invisible button that everyone is describing here and in other forums. I also have developer options on so I can see all of the hit areas. Am I missing something?
Thank you!

But once you are in the about screen, how do you download new software? I dont see an option anywhere to download. I only see the disable ap button.
My Peloton console won't go beyond searching for network if I use Wifi, or download updates if I use ethernet. I don't think it's a hardware failure and had been looking for a ROM to load it. Anyone backup their console? It's a first generation tablet running lollipop.
Any chance someone figured out how to do this with the Peloton Tread? Its running Android 7... I can get to APKmirror.com and click download, just feel like they went to an extra effort to hide / disable downloads... or maybe a way to side load via USB, I can't get a USB device to recognize...

If you connect via USB you can place the APK on the device. My only issue is that it wont install as its an unknown source and i am unable to allow unknown sources to install.
if youre on a peloton running nougat (android 7.0), from the login screen you can go to:
wifi (icon, top right) --> system settings --> legal (licenses etc.) --> and click any button that says homepage.
it will bring you up in a browser from which point you can download a third party launcher such as Nova and use it to display a stock android UX (homescreen). once you have this you might choose to download an apk for google play, or even just grab apks (app files) via google searches. (for example: google: Netflix android 7.0 apk --> then follow links to download).
This does not work for me. Clicking download does nothing. Any ideas.

I just got the bike the other day and tried through both downloading the app directly onto the peloton tablet (as you recommended) and through ADB, followed the instructions of this :
https://www.reddit.com/r/pelotoncycle/wiki/index/howto/root
but it would just "hang"
I then learnt to add -p when installing through ADB and discovered this error:

I have tired using ADB to install the app on my android phone and it worked fine - which means it's not the app - I believe!
Please help!!!

New Peloton screen not allowing third party apps
I just got the bike the other day and tried through both downloading the app directly onto the peloton tablet (as you recommended) and through ADB, followed the instructions of this :
https://www.reddit.com/r/pelotoncycle/wiki/index/howto/root
but it would just "hang"
I then learnt to add -p when installing through ADB and discovered this error:

Did you manage to resolve this? Having the same issue on my console running Android 7. Also tried the adb commands to allow unknown sources as it's not available to be set in UI

Do you need to maintain the subscription to utilize apps? Wondering whether to get a month trial or just pay for a month to get the apps I want on there and then cancel.

You don't need active subscription to use apps that you have already installed. Sadly, The problem is most of the apps have new versions and old versions are deprecated within few months.
Definitely try Wired XDisplay as DC Rainmaker's post, to doscreen mirror from your laptop.
How to Load Zwift or TrainerRoad on a Peloton Bike: A Geek's Guide
This post started almost 100% for my own reference as a simple notepad file. But enough people asked about my random Instagram stories using it for Zwift and TrainerRoad, that I figured I’d write it up into something semi-cohesive. While

I have the 2017 Shield.
I have used BBCIplayer in the US on many Android devices over the years. I usually install from apk or a British Google Play account, and then use a smart DNS service (smart DNS sends the proper signals through a VPN so the BBC server sees me as being in the UK, but the actual video is not sent through the VPN. Except for the limited purpose, the device has a US ip address.)
For every device except the Shield, once the Iplayer app is installed, it stays installed and visible.
The Shield has its own Nvidia made version of Iplayer (the regular version does not work with Google TV.) I installed this once from the Google Play store with a UK Google Play account. It worked fine, then disappeared after a while. I can now get it to work by using a copy of the Nvidia Iplayer apk that I downloaded from the internet - I click on the apk in file manager and then click on the "market" option rather than the "install" option. I am then given a screen where I can "enable" the Iplayer, and it then appears again as a usable app.
If I go into settings when the app is enabled it shows as a system app, rather than a downloaded app (as does the proprietary version of the Amazon video player.)
One of the reasons that I like Android is that it has less of the "big brothery" stuff than IOS (or a Roku, for that matter.) So it pisses me off that the device I paid for is actively frustrating my watching what I want to watch with an app which is on the machine. I'm not saying that Nvidia should be providing me with a VPN connection, but on the other hand it shouldn't be actively blocking me from what I want to do.
Short of hooking up to a VPN 24/7,any ideas as to how to stop this disabling of the app?
I want to try this.. Brit now in Germany. I installed express vpn on my shield but didn't look for iplayer yet.
I assumed I would need vpn set to UK all the time I wish to use BBC then disconnect vpn for normal use.

From Nvidia :
The BBC iPlayer app is only available inside the UK. If you are not located in that location or have recently moved out of the UK then the app will no longer be available from the main menu of SHIELD Android TV.
If you are located in the UK, please ensure that Location Services is enabled. To do so, navigate to the Settings menu and then into the Personal->Location menu and ensure it is enabled.
If you prefer not to use Location Services, please ensure that the device language selection is set to "English (United Kingdom) (GB)". To do so, navigate to the Settings menu and then into the Preferences->Language menu and select the language from the list.

so:
Disabled Location
Set English UK Language
Reboot
Enjoy

install kodi then install the iplayer plugin

if you are outside the UK it still won't work without VPN - at least not from Germany

read the OP its pretty obvious he is using vpn hes in the USA what he wants is a work around for the app being disabled because its not licesensed for use outside the UK hence my post:good:
Hi, after battling with the same issue for some time on the 2015 shield, I've been able to work out a solution;
I've posted the solution up here;
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/1011733/shield-tv/how-to-fix-the-disappearing-bbc-iplayer-app-for-out-of-region-/
In-case it gets taken down for any reason, the solution is to extract out the APK of the iplayer system app (using ES file explorer on the shield TV), then pull the resulting APK into "APK Editor Pro" and then modify the app name and package name to create a new APK (making sure the package name doesn't have iplayer in it) and then sideload it onto the shield TV.
This way when the shield is booted, only the inbuilt iplayer app is disabled, but not the modified cloned app.
I expect this same process to work with many other inbuilt apps on the shield TV that might be disabling out of region.
Hope this helps someone!
Hi Watsonash, I scanned the apk you've kindly shared for the disappearing iplayer & it's infected with malware; I checked it with both VirusTotal and NVISO APKScan...

hi, those products must be reporting false positives. As said I simply used "APK Editor Pro" to change the information, so unless this in injecting malware (which I'd say is most definitely not the case). I described the process so there is nothing stopping you from taking the exact same approach yourself and generating the modified apk yourself. I just installed Virustotal and it said the apk simply wasn't in its database (which is correct as APK Editor Pro has to resign the app as part of the packaging process).
Hi Watsonash, I aplogize, I should have clarified in my original comment that I didn't think you were purposely putting that apk out there with malware; I was just trying to be brief in my comment, which isn't something that comes naturally, as you'll see... My reasons for posting were to let you know that a scan dectected malware so you could look into why that was & fix it - that being said, every day is a new school day for me, because I wasn't aware of the false positive thing until you mentioned it. Now I understand that it's not something that you can"fix"and it isn't likely infected. I don't know how to modify anything - the only knowledge I have is knowing where to look to find clever people like you who do the work to fix annoying issues like the iplayer disappearing. I am eternally grateful for people like you who figure these things out for people like me & to have learned something new about the false positive issue; I was stupidly thinking that since two different websites showed positives that something was there, but now that I've read into a bit, I've clued in that the majority of the actual antivirus programs on both sites marked it clear. I see now that there are many variables taken into account when these programs come up with a result that doesn't look good.
Again, I apologize; this is why I usually just read & then research & never post comments - I should stick to doing that! Thank you for figuring out this fix; it's very much appreciated!
