Hello comrades,
Double pressing power button launches Camera and I have choose to open default camera 'always'.
I was wondering how can I change that setting and instead show me other camera apps and ask for 'just once or always' again.
Thank you for taking time to read my query.
Clear the Defaults under the app information.

the Standy button isn't a normal hardkey.
therefore it can't be reassigned i think.

yep u r right
I'd suggest you assign the Camera button as "ok" that way the camera won't launch if you hit it by mistake. It just means you'll have to use an on-screen shortcut to start the camera. Once the camera is open, the button will function as normal.

My WM is in spanish so sorry if locations are not exactly or have a different/similar name.
hi all is it possible to make the camera boot and take pictures with the volume up hardware button, i find my self not needing the volume keys so this would make taking pictures easier for me
thanks all
You can even assign different functions to the volume keys, e.g. single press for volume up, long press for camera, with AEButton Plus.
ok will give this go does this app allow taking pictures while in the app? or just bootup app
If you assign the 'enter key' function to a volume key as well, you can also take pictures.
E.g. long press to launch camera, sinlge press for taking the picture (if you don't need the volume up function) OR long press for camera, double press for volume up and single press for taking the picture OR any other configuration you like

does the hd have a ok/enter button in which it take pictures as the hd2 doesn't its all screen based
is this correct
No, the HD has no dedicated button as well. It's strange that pressing enter on the HD works but not on the HD2. Are you sure that it doesn't work on the HD2?

It doesn't work on my HD2 either. Strange, because it worked with the HD. Well...

how do you edit volume keys to use them like this?
Enter in camera app doesn't work on my HD2 as well ..
ANybody found any solution to this.. aeb is wonderful app
found
found this :
http://www.scilor.com/leocameraanykey.html
try it
There is also Volumex, it will catch the keys automatically, no need to hook any shortcut to open camera app. Doesn't work for zoom though...
In my phone by pressing that key camera application is not getting opened , Cannot even capture a photo using that.
Is there any setting I have to change ?

Well, i personally i have a shortcut to camera app on my screen and i'm using touch to capture.
I've never used that key ... but...
1. From what i know, on X10, pressing that key won't open the app.
2. To take a picture, press the button half down, wait for focus and then press all the way down.
thanks for your response
When pressing like that focus cursor (centre of display) turns green then goes off , but not capturing
to open the camera app with the key, press it all the way in, and hold it for around 3 seconds
to take a picture push it in halfway for the green focus to come up, then all the way in to take picture, simple
I did it but not working.
Dunno if this is a but obvious but are you pressing it hard enough?
I only ask because I have to press mine very very hard to actually capture.
Swyped from my rooted X10i using XDA.

You probably are using a task-killer that is killing some process related to the button. Pressing the button opens up the Camera app. If it doesn't, you've screwed up a setting somewhere or killed a task unnecessarily.
Have you went into the test menu? (While in the lock screen, press menu > back > back > menu > back > menu > menu > back).
Then go to service tests, and find "Keyboard and switch" or something, see if it registers the button press. It should register half press and a whole press.

TBH, it is kind of flaky. What I ended up doing was using an app to link a long press of the HOME key to SCREENSHOT.
Works much better that way
Swipe up from the home button and use quick memo on the right. It takes a screenshot and then you just press save.

I use the exposed module "Advanced power menu" so when I hold down power, I can reboot, reboot in recovery, power off, or take screenshot....

Now this I likes!!
Nice! Didn't know about the swipe up from home and forgot about the Advanced Power Menu. I was using that at one point and in the process of putting on new roms all the time I forgot to re-engage it.
Thanks for the protips!
Anyone know how to remap the "Home Swipe Left"?
I would like to see voice search there.

That is not working apparently. I'm getting double hard press home button. ?
I think it's related to csc.
But could not find anything related to it in CscFeature. Xml
Solved - there is an option to choose from this 2. See the screenshot.
Lol ?
