I'm on ATT and it looks like I have the dreaded MMS failure issues. For example I often get group texts from iPhone users that send as MMS but they don't download for me. Any ideas?

Hi everyone just a quick question I wanted to know if anyone is having issues with mms that has there s4 flashed.I am able to receive but not send. When trying to send pic using stock messaging it just spins in a circle. Now it use to work following a guide from @AlpineMan a great contributor. His steps are below in a Screenshot. Iv'e also had my friend test who has a note 2 using same method and it does the same thing.I am stock rooted mk2.(4.3).Iv'e also tried using sms apps that has there own custom apn settings such as handcent and hangouts. When matching up settings same things happen unable to send.Does anyone know if any ports changed or anything changed for boost mobile mms proxy? Your help would be greatly appreciated
Were you on wifi when you tried sending? Try turning it off...ie send your MMS on 3G. I remember someone saying something changed on Boost and they couldn't send while on wifi anymore, but still works on 3G.
If it still doesn't work, try my method 2 using "8sms" messaging app. I put all the config details in the thread you took a screen shot of.

Is anyone else having issues sending MMS messages after rooting? I can receive them but they will not send. I've tried the Samsung messaging app and Hangouts. Both sit at "sending" for a long time before saying it couldn't be sent.

I figured it out. The first thing I installed after rooting was Adblock Plus. I uninstalled that and now they're working again. I don't understand why ABP would mess with MMS messages but it was definitely the problem.
Hi,
It's my first time to post here. Does anyone know how to stop the sms to mms conversion? After 480 characters, my sms will convert to mms and it irritates me.

i have the same question.
Is it carrier specific? Do certain carriers allow more bits to be sent over SMS?

Has anyone experience MMS not sending and receiving on google messenger. I have been using messenger since the release of the phone with no issues. Now I can't receive or send. I prefer messenger because I have a urbane 2 Android wear watch and on wear it allows me to see the entire thread when connected via cloud sync.

Yes, I have noticed this as well. It is not just with messenger, this also happens with hangouts. I suspect that the default apn on ipv6 is the problem, but without root it is difficult to modify the apn db that contains the settings. I am thinking about doing an adb backup, extracting the sqlite db and seeing if I can get it to restore a modified version with just the APNs that I want in it. It could also be the hidden APN that is used for tethering... either way it would be a lot easier to troubleshoot with root.
I was unable to send or receive MMS and it was due to me disabling an MMS package in Package Disabler.

Not a bad idea to check! That lead me to my fix. I presume the package you mention is: com.android.mms.service.
Make sure it is enabled. Mine was, but clearing data on it fixed my issue!
