OxygenOS audio is just better? - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

I love all the customisations of LineageOS and Roms but can anyone confirm that OOS audio is just cleaner and louder?
Well one example is audio from video calls. It's weaker than OOS' sound.
What do you guys think?

Question about any of the Audio mods/Kitkat.

I am on Stock KitKat rooted, I've tried Viper and I tried one of the other audio enhancing methods, and none of them seemed to do very much for the audio in terms of making it any louder. Is there a mod out there for my specific model that will make it louder? It's kind of strange, my boyfriends phone is loud as can be when it comes to ringtones and videos but mine is quiet as a mouse. Viper made the audio worse and I'm afraid to try and figure out what numbers work best for the snd_whatever_taiko file.
So basically I'm asking if there's anything I can do at this point?
Edit: If it helps I'm on AT&T, Kitkat with all the latest OTA's.
There is a sound increase mod 1.3 on the development thread... Install both speaker and headphone zips... I did that and my speaker is really loud... For my headphone music I also use viper and turned up the gain completely

[Q] good bass enhancer for 5.x ?

With the old cyanogenmod kitkat version, and the dsp program back then I used to have very deep and powerful bass enhancement, it was really nice.
But since the new lollipop version, the bass are really bad, it just makes the sound muffled and not powerful.
I tried Dolby atmos or the official cyanogenOS dsp program, not it still doesn't work like it used to do.
Do you know any way to get back a good bass enchancer?
Edit: actually I think I had the mod Beats+xlouder installed over cyanogenmod. Is there any version of this mod for lollipop?
Personally I use & recommend Viper4Android. Very customizable to suit your sound preferences and you can set up different profiles for each output type (phone speaker, headphones, external speakers, etc.).

ROM for best audio quality

Hi,
is anybody there who know which ROM(kernel, settings,...) for Redmi 2 is the best for best audio quality?
My old but awesome mp3 player iRiver T60 is broken and I want to replace it for my Redmi 2. Sound from Miui isn't good. I'm now on CM13 with Viper4Android and many hours testing and finally sound is quite good but still isnt perfect. Is there another way to get much more audio quality from Redmi 2? Any ROM, kernel, settings, experiences...?
Otherwise:
Redmi 2 Prime (2GB, HM2014813)
CM 13 (20160219, kumaja) - btw great rom
jetAudio
Viper4Android
Headphones AKG Y50
Thanks for advice
I suppose you made great decision. CM13 or RR 5.6.3 are great and I use Viper4Android and PowerAmp and with this combo, you will have really powerful pocket player. I have ATH-M30x btw.
Magjir, thanks for your reply.
I dont know if is it only placebo or real effect but I'm now on RR 5.6.3. with Xtreme Music mod+Viper4A and sound seems a bit more interesting. I dont know if effect is caused RR rom or Xtreme Music mod but this is so far the best audio what I got from Redmi2.
@Pixxter @magjir
CM13 + Viper||Atmos™ Sony™||Beats™ Edition = Awesome Sound Experience
Thanks Zeus, I will try it
yes, with xtreme music, sound will be "better" most of the time, because of warmer and deeper bass but sometimes it lacks in quality. I've tried a huge amount of mods, but finally I stopped with just Poweramp and V4A. It can enhance entertainment of music without losing its details.

+1 for xtreme music mod
rom is +/- iportant, but playing with the above mentioned mod and settings in viper (comes in the same bundle zip) can serve you well
i also always have doubts about placebo-mods (not having great phone/earpieces); but with this one there's no mistake
so my final settings for best sound is with only V4A (XtremeMusic now is incompatible with me). I try Dolby, Beats and other mods and everything were for nothing. Otherwise big effect on sound has a convolver in V4A settings.
Here is my V4A settings. Maybe it helps someone. Only enable options.

Dirac Audio on Custom ROMs

Isn't there any way to get sound as we use to get on stock miui ROM? I mean that cant anyone port Dirac audio from MIUI to AOSP based ROMs. I tried every sound enhancing mod but none worked and the sound that i got from speakers is just unpleasant to hear to although viper 4 android does provide balanced sound from speaker but it's distorted and on high vocal music the speaker starts to distort very badly. Can anyone port Dirac Audio from miui, it will be a revolutionary mod for our beloved Redmi 2/prime.

Awful Audio quality after updating to miui 12

I'm on the global version of miui 12.0.2.0 for davinci, since I updated yesterday via fastboot Spotify sounds robotic and distorted, I checked if it was a problem with my headphones but it isn't that, audio plays normally on YouTube vanced, and on Spotify lite. Also I can notice a little audio distortion on the speaker as well. I was wondering if anyone had this issue as well, I really liked the sound the I had in miui 11, with viper4android, and I want to get back to that specific sound, but if Spotify sounds bad no matter what I'm screwed. Thank you in advance for any replies!
