anyone out there have the custom boot images for qualcomm binary 5 yet?
sprint just released binary 5 OTA update, im assuming the previous revision 4 binary boot images won't work any longer
also does anyone have a download link to the new builds? can't seem to find them anywhere g935p and g930p if you have them.
Hmm. guess this is why I was having a problem with my phone. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74590415&postcount=402
Just had an issue flashing SM-G935V software to my SM-G935P because I didn't realize I'd picked up an OTA putting me on binary 5. My phone is currently in a fun, bricked state. If anyone has links to a binary 5, Odin-flashable firmware download, I'd very much appreciate it.
If there's another way to flash something in download mode, other than using Odin, where I could drop something earlier than binary 5 on there, I haven't found it yet. Thoughts? The error on the phone is SW REV CHECK Fused 5 > Binary 4.
I come from a long line of HTC phones, so I've been comfortable with custom ROMs and unlocking bootloaders. Unfortunately, using Odin, I expected if something didn't match, it wouldn't flash anything (like RUUs with HTC phones). Not so much the case, apparently. haha -- live and learn!

You going to have to wait until VZ includes it in an update. As of right now, only the Sprint version has the bootloader update...I'm sure it will hit the rest during the next update or so.

That makes sense. Sprint was on their game, I guess. Thanks!
new build on sammobile QJ3 rom
No Binary 5 for VZW, TMB or U firmware at this moment. They released updates with Binary 4. I don't like the Sprint rom and now I've a cellphone using G930P QL1 fimware
Has anyone heard of G930U or G935U Rev 5 being out yet? Or is Sprint still the only one on the Binary 5 Version? Man they pulled a fast one with only allowing Sprint to goto Rev5. I am sure it put a damper on all us folks who like flashing the Crappy Sprint Phones into the Unlocked Versions or a GSM Carrier such as Att or Tmobile. Please let me know if another carrier has hit Binary 5 yet.

Hi community I got my SGs4 from China and it is i9505 but came with i337 bootloader and Baseband,TW 4.3MK2
I got this from the phoen info app:
GENERAL INFO
Phone model:GT-i9505
Device type:jflteatt
Product Name:jflteuc
FIRMWARE INFO
Bootloader version: I337UCUEMK2
Baseban version: I337UCUEMK2
PDA version: I9505ZHUEMK2/i337UCUEMJ6
CSC version: i9500ZSUEMJ6
OS INFO
Build number: JSS15J.I9505ZHUEMK2(I337UCUEMJ6)
I want to know what firmware can I flash( because I want to update to 4.4.2 but dont know the right firmware),is my bootloader locked, can TWRP be install or do i need SS? and anything you can add will be appreciated
Well I think this info is important if you need more just ask me,if you need my build.prop I´ll upload ,looks like a hybrid firmware between I9505&i337
This seems like a definite Frankenstein. AT&T bootloader and device type, I9505 PDA and phone model, and I9500 CSC.
Your first task will be to download the AT&T firmware and install it. Then you need to borrow a friend's AT&T SIM and test to see if you're getting LTE. If you get LTE, then you have an AT&T phone, regardless of what anything else says. Unfortunately, that will mean you have to use Safestrap.
How much did you spend on the phone?

Right Now I'm on mexico with Telcel, my friends are on USA T-mobile,Verizon, Try to use Telcel LTE data and it connect to 4G, LTE logo dont appears.
I went to sammobile and download the 4.4.2 from hong kong, I'll flash trough odin to see what happens
I Got it on ebay for 255 dlls when it arrive home the phone was sealed
The fact it was sealed doesn't mean much. You're the second or third person I've seen on the forum asking about this, and in the case of the first user he was able to get his device working perfectly using the AT&T firmware. Regardless, the fact you weren't able to pick up LTE is a clue. It leads me to believe that in this case the phone may be correct but the firmware wrong. Here's why.
If you had an AT&T phone, as I suspected, your phone should have picked up LTE if it was unlocked for use on any carrier, as both Telcel and Nextel use band 4, while Movistar supposedly uses band 2, bands which an AT&T phone supports (bands 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, and 17). Check Telcel's coverage map to be certain you have LTE coverage in your area.
Neither an I9500 nor an I9505 would pick up those LTE bands. The I9500 doesn't have LTE at all, and the I9505 has LTE bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, and 20. Neither phone will get LTE in North America (including Mexico). The best those phones will do is HSPA+, which on the AT&T firmware would be labeled as 4G.
Try the firmware you downloaded, but I suspect you're going to want to return the phone if you want LTE service.
this phone.....

This is the scenario with my *chinese* version of the i9505.
I downloaded CPU-Z and it shows hardware: i9505, however, kernel build is a AT&T one.
I am REALLY SKEPTICAL to flash CM11 on it because I am very afraid to brick this phone. paid 300$ for it.
The funny thing is, I have the EXACT same phone as OP.
Anything I could try? please note AT&T doesn't work in Canada, nor I can borrow someone's AT&T sim card.
HOWEVER, I do have experience with a previous confirmed i337, and with bell it picked up LTE waves.
However this one doesn't.
Probably safe to flash?
I think my pat response to anyone purchasing these phones from now on will be to return them and purchase one through a Samsung-authorized retailer if Swappa isn't an option. For example, as of the time and date I write this, on Swappa there are currently 32 of the AT&T Galaxy S4 available, with prices ranging from $184 to $500US. The T-Mobile version, which doesn't have the locked bootloader of the AT&T model, has 8 devices available with prices ranging from $255-$310US. That doesn't include the Active variants or the MVNO-branded phones.
Purchasing a cell phone through eBay is, to be blunt, dangerous. You have no guarantee that the phone will be clean for activation, no guarantee that you won't have to do additional work to get the phone working, and no guarantee that the phone is even legitimate. Couple that with the buyers not doing their homework before purchasing and you get a clusterf**k of major proportions.
So, return the phone. If the seller doesn't accept returns, do a chargeback on your credit card. Or else put it up for sale as a parts phone.

Albie, can you please let me know when you get home if the phone picks up AT&T LTE waves? I am convinced this is the i9505 due to the baseband and specific board details (which correspond to the i9505 model rather than the i337, but not GPE)

I did some more snooping around desperately trying to find out more information about this phone and the last thing I remember reading about before going to bed was:
No matter what we try, this phone is with a locked bootloader after the knox 4.3 update.
Unofficial firmware can and will brick this phone resulting either in a soft-brick OR, for the more unlucky ones, even a hard brick.
BUT, I also found other contradictory posts claiming that regardless the presence of the knox update, the bootloader IS infact unlocked.
It's hard to take a side due to the lack of tools to verify if the bootloader is in fact locked.
Could you please do me a HUGE favor?
if yes:
Go to your download mode and if possibly post a snapshot of the screen. I've included mine.
For some stupid reason, even though it's a i9505, it is recognized as AT&Ts SGH-I337.
Since I don't have my camera lying around, I'll write word for word what's on my screen:
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SGH-I337
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
Knox Level Lock: 0x0
Knox Warranty Void: 0x0
CSB-Config-LSB: 0x30

Anxiously waiting your progress!
It's simple.
You got an SGH-I337.
You probably got a rom installed that is ported from I9505 and they didn't edit the build.prop.
I'd crack open the phone and look for the model number on the motherboard. That would eliminate any and all confusion.
MK2 & NB2 for i9505 HKong version give "secure check Fail:system" cant find answer for that......with the 4.42 firmware it gave me "secure check fail:aboot"

OMG I paid 255$ !!! I belive Isaw you in other forum asking right??
Hope they find how to unlock the BL or AT&T give us Unlock BL with the Lolipop update
Hey guys,
Quick overview: 2 Questions: How to update to lollipop and benefits of KNOX.
I just got a new Metro PCs Galaxy S5 unlocked and am using it on the AT&T network as the title suggests. I was looking around to try and find an answer but was unsuccessful. My question is how do I update this phone since it's a Metro PCs phone (which is apparently same as T-Mobile) to lollipop and i'm on AT&T? Since I'm on the AT&T network, there is no update for lollipop yet, but from what I've read the phone itself should be compatible and ready for the T-Mobile lollipop update...AT&T is the only carrier that hasn't released lollipop update AFAIK. Here's the current information on the device:
Model: SM-G900T1
Android: 4.4.2
Baseband: G900T1UVU1ANK1
Kernel: 3.4.0-1616453
Build: KOT49H.G900T1UVU1ANK1
If I try to do the OTA Software update from the "About Device" settings screen, it says up to date. Is my only option to root it and do a custom ROM (or wait for AT&T to come out with the lollipop update...which may not be very soon)? Though if i root it I'll trigger the KNOX stuff i've been reading about. I don't think the KNOX stuff has anything useful to me from what I read, because it seems to be for business stuff only, whereas i'd only be using this phone for personal use. Which brings me to my second question: Is there any reason for me to care about keeping KNOX 0x0? Seems like it will void any software warranty if i trigger it and I'd lose any OTA updates? That's the only fall back? Because if it isn't a big issue then I can just root and custom rom my phone (recommendations on ROMs? looking for mostly performance and battery life). Lemme know if you have other questions for me or if i need to provide more info. Thanks for any help!
Im only seeing KitKat ROMs on Sammobile and Samsung Updates, for the SM-G900T1, and they generally have all ROMs available for each device
Looks like a Custom ROM might be your only way if there is no official Lollipop update for you, but Custom ROM = Custom Recovery = KNOX tripped

Can you send me a link to where you see those updates? I couldn't find it myself for my model (SM-G900T1).
Also, would i be able to update my phone with the latest T-Mobile Variant? I was thinking that since (from what i've been reading) it sounds like the T-Mobile phone and the Metro PCS phones are supposedly the exact same phone (T-Mobile = SM-G900T, Metro PCS = SM-G900T1) and my phone is unlocked, that perhaps I can update my phone to the latest Samsung signed T-Mobile update with lollipop and not trip Knox. Any ideas / thoughts on this?

You should be able to flash any ROM for your exact model phone
Links to sammobile are banned on XDA, just go to sammobile dot com - enter your model number into the firmware section
Need a free account to download
KNOX will not be tripped flashing stock ROMs with ODIN

thx, i was dumb and kept searching with "samsung galaxy" instead of the exact model number so couldn't find it there at first :silly:
I get that i can flash any ROM for my exact model, but was hoping to find out if i can install the SM-G900T (T-Mobile) update on the SM-G900T1 (Metro PCS)? From what I'm reading they appear to be the exact same phone, but i haven't seen any hard evidence of that fact...like i've read in other threads and other sites that people have put t-mobile roms/etc on a metro-pcs galaxy s5, and that essentially they're the exact same phone, but just nothing i've seen/read that makes it definitively so...unless that in and of itself proves their statement that they installed the TM roms on the MPCS phone. I'm cautious cause i keep reading about being careful because of all the different variants and the possibility of bricking. i guess in the meantime i'll look around more then to see if i can install the t-mobile one on my metropcs.
Ive no idea, I wouldn't want to advise flashing a ROM for a different model phone - best wait to hear if anyone else has the same phone and done the same thing
Someone here saying they are exactly the same phone

yah, i've seen that thread and it's what i meant by "i've heard things", but not really "confirmed things" hahaha
I searched a bit more and found this thread, and it looks like might be possible because someone did it on an older firmware from TM -> MPCS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733529
I may look a little more, but i think i'll try it and see what happens. when/if i do, i'll post back with results.
...although, would that nullify my unlock? Phone is like I said, MPCS and unlocked, running on AT&T. Switching to the T-Mobile firmware shouldn't have any affect on the unlock right?

No it won't make any changes to your SIM/carrier unlock status. Once you permanently SIM unlock your phone, that is it.
Im looking for this firmware. I tried smart switch and is required a serial number. If someone can posted.

It would be helpful if your subject line include a question mark, so readers would know that you're asking for this firmware rather than offering or announcing it.

Isn't this link for PH1 rather than PHE? I checked here: http://samfirm.net/threads/update-safely-firmware-galaxy-note7-all-model-22-09-2016.119/ but they seem to have the PHE ODIN files for every other carrier but not for ATT.
Yes I believe you are correct. All the carriers also are on Revision 2 now as well because of this whole stupid battery BS. So if you update pretty much to any update the likelihood of downgrading is slim to none. I actually have the Sprint Variant exchanged new non explosive model that shipped with PH9 Rev 1. I was able to downgrade to PGC Rev 1 and Root it and then unlock it for any carrier then flashed it to ATT PH1 Rev 1. However I tried going back to Sprint just to see if I could go back to original firmware and it will not let me do it. Odin fails with Sha 256 error. Witb new bootloader and firmware having some Sha 256 check coding attached in it. Only way for me to go back is to flash newer firmware which is Revision 2 and I am trying to avoid going to the new Revision as the last Note 7 Sprint I did that with it broke my unlock carrier and made the device read invalid SIM only good for Sprint. Unfortunately there is no method for unlocking Sprint Note 7 on Revision 2 right now which sucks. So I have one Note 7 stuck to Sprint which I have Att service and 1 Note 7 that I flashed to Att I am currently using now. I'm waiting for a solution for the N930P Rev 2 Firmware to unlock it. Basically need a kernel root to do the unlock unless someone else knows how to do it.

Wow! I was saw a few SHA 256 errors which I got around using the modified ODIN. I have 2 Verizon Branded Note 7s hated and still hate the Verizonized settings (no Device Maintenance in settings menu in addition to burying the Samsung Cloud and making you download Samsung Pay). So before the I flashed the ATT PH1 ODIN and ported back to AT&T (after 13 days with VZW). Just before the Sept 21st exchange explosive device date I ported back to VZW thinking that the exchange would go more smoothly at the VZW store. I unrooted via factory reset, got the new phones and could have escaped the PHE update altogether since I allowed the update myself after going home. Now I want to go back to AT&T again (due to the heavy-handed actions of VZW and VZW's near hostility to Samsung and the Samsung user experience that I mentioned above). Speaking of Sprint, I just flashed the Sprint ODIN PHE files just to check out the Sprint Note 7 interface while I await the ATT Note 7 PHE Odin files. Looks as good as AT&T (if only their coverage was). So I actually paid off both Note 7s so I'm a free agent LOL. Wish I had hung onto my original Note 7s or at least had not taken the PHE update on the replacement phones.

I have scoured the internet LOL (or so it feels) and I can't find the files AT&T so, at this point, I can't get back to AT&T without them. I guess I could return the Verizon Note 7 s and pay the restocking fees for both $35 X 2, get a refund $1728 minus $70 and go to AT&T and buy new AT&T-branded Note 7s (as long as I do it before next Wednesday the 5th (day 14 with replacement Note 7).

I was able to grab the firmware for mine by following this post. I have the Verizon version so I downloaded the Verizon firmware. Someone with the AT&T PHE build should be able to do the same and post it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68281789&postcount=2
After opening Smart Switch and connecting my phone using the file transfer USB setting on my phone, I clicked on "More" and then "emergency software recovery and initialization." I then selected the "device initialization" tab and followed the steps in smart switch. After it prompted me to restart the phone in recovery mode the file started to download. I made a quick copy of it in another folder as soon as the extension changed to a zip file (around 70 - 75%).

Hello Everyone I understand that this would have been better posted at the Roms and development Forum but it would not let me post because of some anti-spam thing. Anyways I was told that I could Cross flash the g935U rom on any variant of the S7 edge so I tried to install it the same way I installed the Stock Sprint G935P firmware. When I was flashing the flash stopped and locked up. The phone has a error on the screen saying SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 5 > Binary 2. Any help would be appreciated. Attached is a picture of the screen and the Odin Logs.

Ran into the same problem. It seems Sprint decided to switch to binary 5 on the QL1 firmware while the rest of the carriers didn't and stayed on 4. I have been looking all over for a way to root my SM-G935P on QL1 firmware and have found nothing. Looks like we're SOL for now thanks to Sprint.
So We Need To Wait For The Android Oreo Update or just wait for G930U To Update The Firmware

You rooted SM-G935P on G935PVPU5BQL1 firmware? If so ...... Yes please show me the way. Been trying to figure it out for quite sometime.
can you downgrade to the previous versions of marshmallow and them rom over to 935u?
you will have to find the previous boot loader file and flash all 4 together for it to work.
just a guess. ill do some research.

Was going to do the same thing after getting a good deal on a pre-owned s7edge from BoostMobile. I had no problem getting the sim unlocked for MintSim(MVNO-Tmobile), and it seemingly works fine after setting APN settings. I'd prefer to not have the g935p firmware. I'm assuming if I can somehow switch to g935u I'll be able to use it more comfortably for both verizon pre pay and MintSim? If there is a way to downgrade to the binary 4, I'd like to know as well. As far as I know I'm still able to use Samsung Pay, so I'd like to keep that option open.
Only thing we can hope for as of right now is that the oreo update is binary 5 on the U firmware. But I dont see that happening. Think thats a new exclusive for sprint to keep people tied down. Hopefully im wrong....
On a more positive note, the bootloader binary has been updated across carriers with every major os upgrade.

I think the same. Sellers were selling S7 and S7 Edge models with U firmware for international use, no sprint apps, logo or restrictions and maybe sprint was losing customers and they decided to update the binary to avoid this situation. Really I prefer the U firmware instead Sprint or Verizon stock rom

On the Oreo update? I havent even checked.
Hasn't been released yet, but it has happened from MM to Nougat. Just speculating that it will happen when Oreo drops.
For those who aren't already aware, G988U is the model number of all of the US carrier versions of the S20 Ultra. The G988U1 is the model number of the same device, but sold by Samsung SIM unlocked and with no carrier bloatware. Firmware is 100% interchangeable among these models: any U or U1 firmware version can be flashed to any U or U1 device at any time, assuming that you're not trying to downgrade the bootloader. Also, U firmware is identical for the 4 base files (AP, BL, CP, CSC) for each individual build, no matter which carrier it comes from. So if you download 2 different carrier versions of the exact same build, the 4 base files will be identical. Where the firmware differs is in the USERDATA file - that's where the carrier bloatware and customizations reside.
Manual Odin flashing is designed for those who:
- want to manually update to a newer version of U firmware on their U device, either because they don't want to wait for their carrier's OTA or because OTAs aren't working on their device, or a different carrier got a new feature/patch before they did
- want to flash U1 firmware to their U device
- want to convert from U1 firmware to carrier U firmware
- want to convert from one carrier's U firmware (with all apps and bloatware) to a different carrier's U firmware (with all apps and bloatware)
For those who aren't already aware, anyone can now download firmware for almost any Samsung device any time that they want, via SamFirm or Frija. There are threads and info about them here on XDA so I won't waste time explaining - do a search if you're not already familiar with these tools. But they only provide whatever the latest/newest/current version is - nothing older. I pay for a subscription to a site that gets the official releases (usually) before they hit SamFirm/Frija, so that's where my files come from. However, I don't have unlimited bandwidth on the site, and it's also quite time consuming to download the files, zip them up, and upload them to AFH. And, I do threads like this for every single Sx and Note x model - so I won't be uploading every single version. The only full builds that I upload are ones where I get access to a new bootloader and/or Android version early, before they hit SamFirm/Frija.
This is not a "beginner's guide to Odin flashing" -type post/thread, so I won't list basic, step-by-step flashing instructions. My threads are geared towards those who already know what they're doing. If you're new to manually flashing Samsung firmware, I recommend you consult one of those "beginner's" guides- there are tons of them here on XDA.
Happy flashing!
U firmware: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=305574
U1 firmware: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=305575
Notes:
- DON'T QUOTE THE OP WHEN YOU REPLY, kthx
- I have lots of threads just like this one for other Samsung flagships, if it interests you. For those who have already made use of my previous threads for a different device and are upgrading to an S20, welcome back
- My zips are compressed extra small for space and bandwidth savings. The default Windows extractor can't handle it, so you'll need a 3rd party tool like 7zip, WinRAR, etc
- My naming method for folders on AFH is: build - bootloader - Android version
So "SAT - 1 - 9.0" means the full build number ends in SAT, it's bootloader version 1, and it's Android 9.0. When bootloader and Android versions increment, the first build to have those changes will have its folder notated appropriately.
- HOME CSC file keeps data intact; using the other CSC will wipe data. Flashing USERDATA will also wipe data
- Since AT&T doesn't allow their firmware to be publicly available (for any of their devices), I'll try to always upload at least one USERDATA per bootloader increment for AT&T (and Cricket, if they get this model). I'll also upload any full builds if AT&T is the only carrier to get that specific build, because you won't be able to find the files anywhere else.
- For identifying USERDATAS, and to know what region/CSC to use in SamFirm/Frija:
ATT = AT&T (not available via SamFirm/Frija)
CCT = Xfinity Mobile (Comcast)
CHA = Spectrum Mobile (Charter)
SPR = Sprint
TMB = T-Mobile
USC = US Cellular
VZW = Verizon (available via SamFirm/Frija, but Manual Entry is required - Auto will not work)
XAA = U1 firmware
- the correct procedure for switching from one carrier's firmware to another is:
1. Flash full U1 firmware package including non HOME CSC
2. Upon boot, insert a SIM of the carrier whose firmware you want
3. Watch for the popup that says "reboot to apply new carrier settings" etc, and do it
4. After that restart completes, reboot back to Download mode and flash the full U firmware package, with the USERDATA file of the carrier whose firmware you want
Pre-release notes:
1. I do not have one of these and do not plan to acquire one, so I have no idea if anything can actually be flashed at this moment - I'm just providing the firmware. Like all other models, I'm assuming patched Odin is needed for this, but it wouldn't surprise me if a new version is needed for this specific device. There's only one way to know though, so as soon as someone gets their hands on one and can try this, please let us know.
2. I don't know if using the HOME CSC will actually save data. I don't get access to that file straight from the source - I have to decompile the regular CSC, remove the parts that initiate the factory reset, and then re-compile it. Based on the S10 and Note 10, I've done what I think will avoid a factory reset. But the S20 has some new partitions, so we won't know for sure until someone tests it. So if you're willing to be that guinea pig, you're responsible for taking proper steps to avoid an FRP lock, make sure your data is backed up, etc
I will be the first to try. I ordered the unlocked. I will flash the TMO firmware. I have it downloaded already

Canadian firmware has been able to be flashed to US Samsung flagship phones ever since the S7. So yes, I would assume that that trend will continue with the S20
Samfirm and Frija have TBN firmware available...I assume based on the naming that it's newer than the ones you have uploaded? I also saw on Sammobile that Verizon has already released a newer firmware which is odd considering they haven't even shipped them yet...lol

1. SamFirm and Frija will always only give you whatever the newest/latest version is. So if it's not the same version that I have uploaded, then yes, it's a newer one.
2. Not odd at all. Most devices get an OTA before release to fix bugs, add features, etc. There was an OTA that came out shortly after I got access to the files, so TBN would be the 3rd release now for this model
3. Looks like firmware has now hit SamFirm and Frija for all S20 models, for anyone who wants to download it themselves
Tried flashing multiple times ATT FW with Odin 3.14.1. Odin reports no errors but it's definitely not taking. SW info still reports XAA and I have no "carrier bloat".

My other threads are chock full of discussions of this exact thing. Bottom line is, we don't know until someone tries it
I'm trying to download the Tmobile from the SamFirm tool for my S20 ultra SM-G988U1
I put in the model number above and TMB in the region.
But I also noticed that if I enter any other region, it's the same filename and size as well. Just want to make sure about downloading the right file.
I re-read the OP, and saw some youtube videos. It's my assumption now that I need to put SM-G988U in the MODEL and keep TMB as the region to download the correct firmware. Am I correct in assuming this is the correct way to go?
The reason I want to do this is because I want to have Tmobiles advance messaging feature back
