I can't seem to make audio mods to work with bluetooth, by work i mean have an effect on the output. If i restart my phone viper will say its processing but stops after a little while. I can't seem to figure it out and i feel like its just me lol.
my specs:
*android 7.0
*h91810q
*rooted with super su
*twrp 3.0.2-1
I don't have anything custom installed yet just viper. Anyone know what it could be?

WETA has an app called blureset in his ROM that can successfully activate processing by faking a phone call or something. That's what I've been using ever since I've gotten the phone. You don't need to use his room to be able to use it either
I actually have it set up so the smart settings activates it upon connecting to my car stereo so it does it by itself. Kinda handy

Some people have reported never having to use this tool in the ARISE thread. I've lucked out on a few different configs and setups for a little while but I always end up having to reset the phone to get it to process again but with the blureset it's rock solid up until you disconnect from the device. Everytime you reconnect you will have to activate the blureset again.
Pretty sure we're has just the APK by itself in AFH folder somewhere I'll try to find it for ya that way you won't have to download the whole ROM just to get it.

Ya now that you mention it, I was in a forum about dolby and they said something like arise had a setting when changed fixes the issue.. I just can't for the life of me find it again.
i downloaded weta's Blureset.apk and it does make dolby work. I just wish someone could trace what is causing the problem but, a band-aid is better than nothing.
Just as quickly as it worked now has permanently stopped working even with Blureset. I found this frustrating so i removed all audio mods. Also, final thought ARISE is a battery killer so i wouldn't recommend it. Thanks for the help tho!

ARISE works great for me but I don't have every single module installed. There is a bit of trial and error involved finding out what works and what doesn't. AM3D doesn't work on nougat so if you installed it there was a glitch that made it just sit there and auto restart trying to run but it couldn't. With ARISE ingot away with just flashing the core module, Viper, Atmos and DIRAC.
Theres a viper package thread by the creator of NATF MEGArom that I have installed right now and it has worked flawlessly ever since (cept for the Bluetooth having to use the blureset thing). Let me find the link
[[[[EDIT]]]]] Here it is: https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/themes/17-feb-2017-viper4android-2-5-0-5-t3558359
If you want Atmos or Dolby I got it from Ahrions thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/soundmod-axon-7-dolby-atmos-t3412342
And I'm using the axon 7 Atmos version
Hey that actually works!
Install note
install the Viper Nougat by natf
THEN Dolby Axon.
Wipe cache then reset.
Using blureset works to restore bluetooth audio processing ....for now lol
Issue is also Magisk. If you use SuperSU, seems as if the problems go away.

Had this phone for a few months and let me say I love it, but it gives me a major headache with all the hassle it gives me as far as things that come after rooting and things like Viper4Android. Never had so many problems in the past with things like this.
I can't for the life of me get this to work and was hoping that someone here on the forums can help me. Seeing as I'm in the military right now my schedule is kinda hectic.
So I installed busybox, and I am rooted. At the time I rooted there was just systemless root which is a pain in my ass.
When I open the apk it asks if I wish to install the drivers, and I click yes and it hangs for a second or two then quickly says it's installed when I know it's not. Im almost positive its suppose to ask which driver I want to install but it doesn't? What am I doing wrong here or how can I fix it? Also trying to use the app provided from XDA to change my selinux or w.e doesnt work either. Says it cannot get access to root from my super user manager which I find strange because everything else works.
Thanks for any help you guys can assist with!
This thread should give you all the answers you need for installing V4A.

ViPER install is a bit janky on the MXP for some reason, the only method in which I have gotten it to properly install is this one, written specifically for the MXP rather than the one above:

Be aware though that the libfiles .zip seems to be the culprit of some random, temporary bootloops that can be solved by simply hard rebooting again. I've tried to find a fix for this but sometimes it happens less often than others, and seems to be only an occasional occurrence.
Been testing Orion rom and it's very smooth and stable and... comes with viper.
Is there any alternative I can use? I don't want to go through some annoying bootloops and prefer to stay on my stock ROM. I'm mainly wanting this so i can be able to use an equalizer over Bluetooth with my Bluetooth earbuds. Anybody know any good alternatives? Thanks for the quick replies. You guys are awesome
That's funny the only boot loops I've had is on stock.
Do you know of any alternatives or a way I can get my stock equalizer to work over bluetooth?
Before I start I just wanna say this is a really amazing phone, I have root from kingroot (then used super su me) and haven't had any probs except this. I've been able to make the sdcard fully writable, enable tethering, use liveboot, recently, lucky patcher, enable init.d scripts, and even use flashfire without any problems. I also have the latest beta 2.71 supersu with pro (Yaaay!) Buuuut I was unable to get Viper4android to work and that's where my problems came in, I installed it correctly through a zip using flashfire even tho the driver installed it would never work and always said adnormal and audio format was unsupported so none of the effects worked I figured this had something to do with selinux being always enforced (even tho the zip I got was supposed to work without changing selinux to permissive it still wouldn't work) I guess I'll have to wait till someone makes a custom kernel that's permissive. I'm an audiophile and I heard people raving about how amazing the sound quality was from viper4android and I wanted to try it but unfortunately I've had no luck getting it to work. Anyways now that I uninstalled it, driver and all the only audio that comes from my phone is if I have my Bluetooth headphones connected other than that no sound from speakers or wired headphones and that totally bums me out I want my sounds back :crying: viper4android has totally ****ed up the audio_policy.conf and audio_effects.conf files and uninstalled audiofx musixfx and dsp manager. All I'm asking is if someone could copy their audio_policy.conf and audio_effects.conf file and use an app like es file explorer to backup the apks for the ones that I need for me. And hopefully that could fix my sound problem. Sorry for going on and on about my phone just to end up asking for some files and apks, but I don't wanna get a new phone or have to wait till someone uploads a stock rom. Cuz I like the way I have my phone at now except for that I freaking knew it! When enabling force enable v4a it said that it could cause no sound and battery drain which is exactly wuts happening. Guess I should have read past the could fix no effects problem part... Sorry, I couldn't post a screenshot
Oh god I'm going to have to just get a new phone, I tried calling someone and no audio comes from my phone so I can't talk even the microphone won't work so I can't talk to them and they can't talk to me. Also videos play in slow motion and skips if I'm using mx player. I've factory reset my phone twice and still nothing. So should I just get a new phone maybe one that has a working custom recovery and several roms for it like a galaxy s5? That's with I should do. I'm not even gonna me viper4android again. Do anybody know if those files could fix my phone's audio problem? I'm so frustrated!!
Never mind I'll just get a new phone.
Reinstall stock using keis or check sammobile for an odin compatible version
Edit; Also check the viper4android forums for the correct uninstall method, it involves reediting files.
Next time you make changes, remember to make a back up!
I couldn't make a nandroid backup or something like that cuz there isn't a custom recovery available yet and to uninstall viper4android all it said was to remove the driver and app I didn't see where it said about editing files. Also my dad wanted to look at it and he told me not to root it so I used the supersu app to fully unroot it but that bricked it and now it's stuck at the bootlogo (I didn't think that would happen tho) I'll see about that odin thing cuz I know how to get into download mode and all that. But I'll have to do it when he's at work. I probably should have looked into viper4android more or just not attempted it. I didn't even see that it uninstalls the dsp manager until it was too late if I had known I wouldn't have tried it.
Also could you give me more info and how to go about doing that? This phone is pretty obscure and unknown. Out of all the versions of the grand prime this is the most difficult to find resources and info on. If nothing works out I'll get a new phone maybe an htc or huawei something more looked upon and cared about.

Aw, yeah I saw that before. It's a rom made from the core prime that should only be used if u bricked ur phone and a lot of things don't work with it (network doesn't work and it's glitchy) they call it Frankenprime. Putting something like that on it would do more harm than good. I should just wait until they put out a stock rom for this one.

I'm gonna get a job this summer and I'll save up some money for a new phone, I dunno if I could get that ur right it is very expensive
I would like to keep the phone but I'm back to using my OnePlus One because it's a more capable phone due to it having stable custom ROMs available. Newegg won't take the Axon 7 back because I found out they have a no return policy on non contract phones. I'd rather not sell it for a loss but the phone is useless to me at the moment.
The custom ROMs I've tried are close but the no audio call bug is a show stopper. I'd like the phone portion of the phone to work properly. <--- Reported fixed with light patch v1.2 experimental
Also, the Bluetooth is not working for call management on every custom ROM I've tried except for Pure Nexus. If it works on Pure Nexus why can't it be made to work on other AOSP ROMs and LOS based ROMs? Can the Bluetooth stack (if that's even the right term) be pulled from Pure Nexus and be applied to other custom ROMs? Could a flashable ZIP be created to implement Bluetooth as described above on custom ROMs?
I'm not positive, but I think you might get in trouble, or your post deleted for trying to sell your device on here. You should be able to get about 300 out of it on swappa or ebay.
Try BadBoy rom. It's based on the zte stock rom but has some custom aspects. Runs smooth with better battery life and much better camera than any of the Lineage based roms I've tried.

Yeah you're prolly right. I'll excise the last part. I tried Bad Boyz. It's great but I can't do stock based. I've come to rely on all the tweaks in custom ROMs. I should have done more research prior to buying the phone. I need a tweaker's phone like the OnePlus 5. Thank you for your response.
I guess if you like downgrading your display, paying more, and getting jelly scrolling as a thank you then the OnePlus 5 would be for you.
Hi there,
I haven't looked into it yet (had no problems with the no audio call bug at first, but now it started showing up), but I'm pretty sure the bug can be 'hidden' with some tasker script (phone app starts, speaker off/on or so)...
So if you are a tweaker, you are likely rooted anyway and this might be an option...

That's a really good idea to use a Tasker task. I wonder if Bluetooth will ever be fixed though. Problem is that Bluetooth connectivity issues only happen with some car head units. It seems like devs aren't looking to fix Bluetooth on custom ROMs because they don't think there's an issue.

I heard another member mention that light patch fixes the call bug. I thought he was mistaken because I'm pretty sure I had light patch v1.1 installed when the call bug happened to me. Sounds like v1.2 preview will fix it. I'm going to count the call bug portion of my question as solved since there are workarounds and everyone recognizes it as a problem so it will get fixed eventually.
The Bluetooth remains a showstopper though. I would gladly pay a significant sum if somebody could make a flashable zip that could fix Bluetooth for custom ROMs. It works in Pure Nexus so having BT work in AOSP ROMs is definitely possible. Hopefully for LOS ROMs too.
Also for me the showstopper/deal breaker is that the phone loses it's loud speaker volume in custom ROMs. I use it very often.

Audio streaming with AVRCP works fine. However the head unit (Kenwood KMM-BT515HD) shows a status of "Connected (no phone)" in Android Bluetooth settings. This means that I can't use my deck to make/answer calls or use voice commands. It works as expected on stock and on Pure Nexus. Others are having this issue too. I know a couple members had issues on Nissan decks and one that I know of had a BMW deck.
Does anyone get voice echo during voice calls on custom roms?
I'm looking to buy the Axon 7 soon, but the voice echo would be a dealbreaker if it exists.
( it's currently an issue with the custom roms I've tried on my Xperia XZ - if I call anyone they complain that they can hear an echo of their voice )

Im on RR build from Jun 11, connect's to my hyundai veloster oem headunit tru bluetooth with 0 issues, it can download my contacts, route calls perfectly fine 0 issues what so ever, the mic bug i get it once in a blue moon, and the 720p/1080p/2k/4k 60FPS slow motion videos on youtube is the other issue, besides that its my daily driver for months now.

Whatever the issue is it only causes connection problems (i.e. "Connected (no phone)" ) with some head units. I should try connecting to my roommate's Toyota. I bet it would connect as a phone just fine. There was an issue with BT in LOS that was causing AVRCP (remote control, song info) to not work with some head units. I'm guessing the devs couldn't solve the underlying issue because the fix was to roll back the AVRCP version. It seems there are still compatibility issues with Bluetooth in LOS and AOSP ROMs (save Pure Nexus).
If I could get BT to work fully with my car I would absolutely use RR as my daily driver. Unfortunately the phone is sitting in the box right now until I lose patience and sell the phone or the BT gets fixed. Sucks because I was totally thrilled with the phone after installing and setting up AOSPExtended. Then I got into my car and noticed the issue forcing me back to the dusty, but trusty OnePlus One.

Hi there,
Thanks a lot for the info (new to me) - to verify:
Are you referring to
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/soundmod-axon-7-dolby-atmos-t3412342
or is there another (preferable safe/easy to install) version one would need?
Thanks again!
So, a while ago, I installed Viper4Android because I thought I would try my hand at making my earphones sound better. I eventually came to the conclusion that I didn't need it, and that my pair sounded just as good before installing it. After rebooting my device post-uninstall, I found that my whole music library sounded very different. String instruments sound far away and washed-out (almost like an echo), and that also applies to most background-vocals, and, for some songs, the chorus, too. After reinstalling it to see if it would go back to normal, which it didn't, I uninstalled it again. I even installed Sauron MKIII to see if it would make it sound better, and it only slightly helped. That might just be placebo, though, because I'm pretty desperate to fix it. I appreciate any suggestions or known fixes. Thank you.
Here's any information that I think may end up being important:
This affects my earbuds only. Speakers are fine.
This happened before I installed Sauron MKIII, so, that's definitely not the root of the issue.
I'm running Android 7 on my S4.
The version of Viper I had installed was the 2.5 Nougat fix.
Again, I appreciate any suggestions/solutions. I'm hoping that I don't need to factory-reset my phone, because it's going to be a pain to reinstall everything again. Thanks.
Hello guys, I'm looking for a rom which is capable of:
- Autoboot my p9 lite if plugged on charge;
- Possibly remove the warning when starting the phone "Your device has been unlocked" which is annoying;
- Equalize the sound for the music (which is sent via bluetooth into my car) also with screen off (the current app i'm using doesn't work when screen is turned off);
- It would be great if it's some kind of android one with nothing else installed (except google services) for increase the speed of the phone.
The phone is permanently placed and connected into my car and it's used with android auto and AA mirror and it gets the connection with an hotspot.
If the majority of my requests can be done without changing the rom that would be ok too.
Thank you guys

Hello dude,
except for first point, cause i don't know what you mean,
i will suggest to stay with stock firmware...
I don't think you can remove the boot warning screen... or
even if it's possible, i never seen anything related for this device...
Search for dolby in EliteRom thread, it should work
and sound become fantastic (you need root for this).
If you will use Youtube (ad) vanced this will allow
the device to play with the screen off (root not mandatory).
Another way is to use Brave browser that have that
functionality inside, just activate it...
Last thing is to freeze/deactivate all apps/services you
don't need, in order to gain more ram and fluidity/speed.
If you will root with Magisk you could use debloat module
and 'systemless' throw away everything you don't really need..
Cheers

i just installed lineage.
For the first point I meant the possibility that the phone boots up itself when it's shutted down and plugged on charge.
I had to install SuperSU because Magisk loopbooted the phone multiple times.
Is there anyway to uninstall Sound FX (comes with Lineage) which isn't working on bluetooth but makes conflict with other equalizers?
Thanks for the help!

Hi,
i never seen, till now, a rom with this functionality..
To uninstall FX you should try with a root manager,
but i think it should be sufficient to deactivate/freeze the app.
Those custom roms are for best privacy but often
many features are not available or not working properly ...
Hope you done a backup of your stock rom...
