No Sound on Oreo Roms - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

Hey everyone. The problem I'm having is, when I flash an O ROM I lose sound. I've tried 3 different ROMs, all seem to work well, except no sound anywhere. Tried different kernels, clearing cache, but can't find solution. Haven't been able to find anyone with a similar problem or the solution. Thanks for any ideas you may have.

Update. Found out that one of the audio mods I use was causing the issue. Running the pixel 8.0 ROM now, with no issues

[Q] Major input lag on CM102 and newer

Hi everyone,
I've had my RAZR M for just over a year now and I've had several different custom ROMs on it. Several months ago I updated to a newer CM 10.1 nightly and noticed horrible input lag. Scrolling in menus was extremely slow and apps took way longer than usual to open. I tried several different ways of wiping, flashing and installing the ROM but failed to solve the problem. I also tried all kinds of options in the developer menu and the performance settings. No dice.
I fell back to a stable 10.1 ROM until a few days ago when I decided to try the same thing with CM 11. The CM 11 ROM suffers from the same horrible input lag as the older CM 10.1 nightlies. All ROMs after a certain point have the same behavior (I don't know the nightly it started on sadly). I'd really like to use a newer ROM but the ROM is unusable with the input lag.
Has anyone had similar problems? Thanks for any input. I'll provide any additional info that helps.
Additional info:
Using TWRP 2.6.3 from here here
Getting my ROMs from the official cyanogenmod release.
I've tried many combinations of wiping everything but external SD while installing. Recently tried mounting /system while wiping but that didn't help either.
I've tried googling the problem and I've found some similar problems but no one seems to have found a solution.

The lag also happens on Carbon ROM when I tried it a few months ago.
Stock is better. We will have to wait for official 4.4 for a fix.
Some say my version of pure perfomance helps, I have not tried the cm ver much. Go dev section. Jeeko is back & said he would make a newer.

No audio after flashing ROM

Ok so here's what happened:
After getting really bored with EMUI I found a custom Lineage OS rom for this P8 so I flashed it with no problems. When I turned up the volume nothing would come out from the speaker. Then I flashed stock EMUI to find out if the ROM was the problem but no, it persisted although I could call and use both speaker for listening but only in calls. So I tried with a custom ROM based on stock EMUI that supported some other things but again there was the same problem. I think I'm the only having this problem because I couldn't find anyone else having this issue so any help will be appreciated
Ok nevermind. I solved in someway...
Alright cool, but how? I'm having the exact same issue.

[Q] Closest you can get to AOSiP

Hello ,
I would like to ask for your help, I tried few roms, and the best I could find so far for myself is AOSiP for my P8 lite. Once I installed substratum to it and fully configured it, it was a totall blast. There are unfortynatelly two problems, one is that the thread to that rom was closed, second is that I cant send MMS. I tried different solutions, reinstalls, wipes, and nothing worked so far. So my questin is, can you reccomend any rom with very, very similar customisation functionality to this one?
Thanks in advance.

Audio quality problem on stock oreo

I flashed stock oreo roms on my g5 plus using fastboot and twrp methods. I also tried different versions of it (soak test 1 and october patch).
Each time I flashed the stock oreo rom, I encountered audio issues on music player apps like play music, spotify etc.
When a song played, I could hear a slight buzz as the song was playing, making it seem like the audio file has problems. Happens when I plug in headphones/use speakers.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling those apps and factory reset but nothing seems to fix this.
This does not happen with apps like youtube or the phone app, where the audio is absolutely normal. (with headphones/speakers/earpiece).
I have used custom nougat roms (stock and custom) and custom oreo roms like RR, PE and never faced such an issue with audio quality before.
Can anyone help me identify what the problem is?
please help if possible!

There's most likely no way to figure out why some apps sound normal for you and others don't. A clean flash is always a good advice, if that doesn't help it's most likely a hardware issue (of your device or your audio hardware). I flashed stock Oreo a few days ago, rooted with magisk and flashed viper4android and ainur sauron as modules. The sound is great using Poweramp, YouTube or any other source.

Microphone Issue on Custom ROMs

Hey everyone! So i've been having this issue with a variety of custom ROMs based on Android 10 where every once in a while the mic simply stops working, and I have to restart the phone for it to go back to normal function.
Has anyone figured out a solution to this yet? or a ROM where this doesn't occur?
Thanks in advance for all the help, and I hope you are all staying safe!
Me I've the same bug. No solution
