Don't you mean jelly fixed screen?
Expected to buy it. Until I seen this review. FP sensor on the back... No way for me.
Best look yet, but it's in Spanish.

The home buttons, as they are now, take up way too much space. And, you can pull a Pixel or OnePlus 5T out of a pants pocket and have it already unlocked before you can even find the button on the front of a phone.
All comes down to ergonomics. Just makes more sense on the back.

For my thumb, it is.
Using a long phone like this and trying to use a thumb to unlock it while gripping it may just make me drop the phone. The index finger on the back makes more sense as I'm already grabbing the phone naturally. My index finger can reach the back fp sensor naturally, but I need to move my thumb downwards to reach a front fp sensor and if the phone is long, I need to shift the phone upwards so my thumb can reach the bottom of the phone. Trying to adjust the phone using one hand in order to reach the front fp sensor makes no sense to me.
Of course a front fp sensor makes most sense for unlocking the phone on the table, no doubt about that. But I can always use double tap to wake and unlock it using pin or pattern. And if the phone is near me, I can just look at it to face unlock.

FYI, The Register just gave a very favourable review of the TD2, you can find it here: www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/04/23/review_smartphone_htc_touch_diamond_2/

Looks good.
one thing I noticed is that when the keyboard pops up, its not swype. I thought it was supposed to come with swype? maybe it does but you have to enable it? but if they advertise it as coming with swype, you'd think that would be the default keyboard. not that it matters to me since I'll install it either way.
The pictures are awesome, this phone is gonna rock. Come on kick ass multitouch controller.
Damn finally there's a preview out there. I've been checking cnet and the link you provided every damn day. This is about to own it up.
Thanks for providing the link.

was flipping through screen shots and their a htc logo at boot. looks like no google and g2 logo. backlit keys would be awesome as well as trackpad notifications.
That was a prototype model, you can see the engraved serial number on the front of the device.
Tight photos but still no indication that it will go into landscape mode w/o sliding up the screen to reveal the keyboard?
If anyone knows. Holla at me.

yeah the keyboard lights up. it has a light sensor for the keyboard lights. plus a proximity sensor... darkens the phones screen when you put the phone to your face for a call to save battery. the lcd backlight is also sensor based so it will auto adjust for you too. Those are all features on newer htc models. they come in handy on my mytouch slide. of course, you can turn them off too exept the keyboard light. that one is automatic no matter what. you can hold your hand over the sensor though, lol, but that is never needed. the sensors are EXTREMELY accurate.
Wish it was getting the noise-canceling mic like the N1. Came in handy while driving.
I wont miss the noise-cancelling mic on the N1.
Whenever people have a hard time hearing me while on a call, I usually have to cover the extra mic with my finger. That improves the sound quality on the other end every time. It never worked right for me...

spare parts was only in custom ROMs if I'm not mistaken. the spare parts app provided the extra setting of allowing you to keep your home screen in portrait while auto-rotating otherwise. auto-rotate is a standard feature in android

Do you guys prefer to insert your S Pen with the button facing up or down? I prefer to insert it with the button up to show off that shiny Samsung logo when I pull it out.
Which do you prefer and why?

If you put it button down the phone sensor wastes less power interacting with/detecting the pen. Little bit of extra juice is never a bad thing

How so?
Either way for me, its still stiff for me to insert in and pull out, I push it from the back and its always hard. I guess the orientation doesn't really matter. I don't think inserting in a particular way has an impact on the battery life unless someone cares to elaborate. I don't use the S-pen much, but if I do, I always have a spare one lying around.

Are you sure its not the Camera sensor? The S-Pen would only rattle if it was loose to insert and pull out from the beginning. The only to determine the integrity of your S-Pen is to insert and pull-out "slowly"

Why would my camera be rattling? I can clearly see the S Pen moving around if I shake the phone or wiggle it with my finger.
There's always a variation in how Samsung assembles their devices, its not precision cut. Your slot might just be slightly wider than the norm. As long as the S-Pen does not fall out, you should be fine.

That's what she said.
As long as you don't push the S-Pen all the way in "hard," then you should be alright, its not like you're going to rupture the paint or something.

I like to change positions, this keeps things from getting boring. I would think over time the more the slot was used the looser it would get. Never really thought about this though, lol.
Someone on another thread mentioned that applying lubriderm to the slot or s-pen should do the trick. My response was The S-Pen shouldn't be too wet or else the lubricant might fall all over in the S-Pen Slot. The Note 4 is not even Water-Resistant unless you liquipelled it.

Well, as much fun as it was reading through the list of sexually charged innuendo responses, those kinds of replies are entirely unacceptable and not appropriate for a forum that is centered on mobile device development. Take the fun and games, and your lubricants, to your facebook or google+ pages.
Seeing as this thread has no real benefits and a useless topic, thread closed.

Sadly no one has mentioned this anywhere except in the flipkart reviews. I read the reviews and was like what was the display cut problem. Then I saw this thread. Asus should look into this. We have to mention this in their twitter handle.
My device also have same problem, looks like the product is defective but flipkart and seller is denying replacement. Really sucks
My device also have same looks!!!
I guess we all should spam them on social media. ?
I have posted a question on Flipkart site about display cut.
