Well last night I stupidly pressed "Yes" when prompted to take the OTA update and now my phone only boots to TWRP. I have wiped everything and restored a backup I made in June and this did not work. Any suggestions? Thanks. I have the unlocked g4 plus btw.

I flashed supersu in TWRP and now the phone will not connect to Sprint towers any more! Sometimes it shows no sim card. I can move the sim card around a lil bit so it no longer complaints about no sim but still, no service! Did I accidentally flashed a modem file or what?

I faced same problem previously while I was in journey , I tried many times removing simcard in and out , I searched internet over 100 times but no use. At last I got it back by doing this. I hope it helps buy no guarantee.
Steps I did .
1. Downloaded RR ROM latest build n g apps
2 removed sim and flashed rom
3 head into Boot loader and tapped BT tools
4 rebbot system once it starts I inserted sim then Bang network came .
Idk what's problem with this device I lost my second slot , now I'm using as single sim device
Supersu breaks SIM and Wifi, if you flash it on the stock kernel. you need to flash the ROM again.

Hi everyone,
I messed a bit with my d802 and finally i used the lg support tool to get it back to stock, but now it can't read my sim card all of a sudden (no sim card inserted).
So the question is where are the sim card files, in the kernel or the rom or the baseband ? and how to get them back so it reads my sim card.
I'd be happy to bring you more info on the problem.
Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem, reflashing the 10B firmware then upgrading to the OTA 12A fixed the issue.

Did you sort this?
If not try this
Power OFF the phone. Remove the SIM card completely for at least 1 minute.
Re-insert the SIM card, Power ON.
If it works, I'll tell you why...

OK - good. This is a fairly common "problem" when making significant ROM changes - but doesn't always happen.
In basic terms...
When the phone is powered OFF, it isn't actually completely OFF. Some "parts" are still powered. The SIM card and its register are "parts" that remains powered and the register is sometimes overwritten when a ROM is flashed. This means when the new ROM boots, the SIM card and the register are different, hence no network as the phone assumes a fault.
The SIM card needs to be removed with the power off (NEVER with it on) so the phone detects a SIM swap and the register is refreshed.
TIP: Before flashing a new ROM - always remove the SIM card (with the Power OFF).

I had the same problem and it worked fine for me, thank you.
Hey, anyone else with this problem?
My g2 suddenly stopped to recognize my sim card.... everything else works properly...
Should i format the phone? Or it would be a hardware problem?

No SIM CARD after official lollipop stock rom update
Hi,
I have updated my LG G2 F320L (Korean Version by UPlus) on Lollipop successfully.
But now my SIM Card is not detecting. I am in Pakistan and dont know what to do now.
I tried to restart the phone with no sim and with sim and also flashed the same stock rom again but still no sim card.
I also tried to put the following codes i.e. for IMEI *#06# and for SIM Unlock menu 2945#*320# which didn't work too.
I also did factory reset many times with sim and without sim.
Tried to do rooting throguh Towelroot and Stumproot but no success.
Dear All, Please help as what might be the problem.

Unfortunately I don't have a solution yet, but I wanted to point out that I am in the same situation ATM. German lg g2 though. Please any new input would be highly appreciated.
Issue Resolved
Hi I took the phone to the android expert in mobile market in my area SADDAR AREA-RAWALPINDI CITY-PAKISTAN. Where he highlighted that the ROM, Baseband and Radios where not compatible as well as my phone had some EEPROM problem as well. So he hooked a small box like USB device and pushed the ROM into it via OTG along with the new stock ROM. Now my phone is working perfectly fine and I am more than happy and thankful to the expert. My current stock ROM is lollipop version: 5.0.1

I know this thread is hella old but, I stumbled upon this (after returning to the G2 temprorarliy - had it back in 2013/14) after restoring a stock LG ROM backup and it wasn't recognizing my SIM card. Anyways, this method worked for me to get the phone to recognize my SIM. Thanks for posting this.

The current problem is this: I installed Chainfire 3d on the S5. After rebooting, it got stuck at the logo screen. I haven't installed Clockworkmod Recovery so the recovery is still the stock one. I tried factory resetting and wiping the cache but it's still stuck at the logo. I assume this is because Chainfire 3d is in the /system. I turned on the activation lock too so I can't use Odin to flash a new ROM or zip. What can I do??
Thanks for any help!
I had issues after flashing back to stock. US Cellular version. What I had to do was REMOVE the sim card, reboot, then it would get into the system. From there you can do what you need to do (especially over wifi as you'll only have wifi). I then rebooted again (completed activation with sim card removed) and this time I had the sim card inserted. This worked for me. MAYBE it will work for you. I had an issue nobody would help me with.

Sadly, that did not make a difference but thanks anyway!
Is there any way to flash a custom recovery through the stock recovery? That might allow you to boot into a custom recovery and then flash a custom ROM or stock firmware.
Did you ever get this resolved?
Previously i have rooted my mobile and it was working fine. I tried to install new software update, So i flashed the stock firmware i lost my wifi and network connectivity (both sim cards were not detecting). I flashed again stock firmware which was suggested by some senior member in XDA. After flashing that firmware i got my wifi and mobile network but my SIM 1 SLOT is not detecting. Tried to wipe data and flashed another stock firmware still the same issue occurs. I tried swapping sim cards but it is not detecting in SIM 1 slot which is detecting in SIM 2 slot.
Found that IMEI is there.
Is this software issue or hardware issue?
Please give any solution.

Did clean flash zui 2.5.330 using twrp, phone booted normally but no network, both SIM cards seems disabled. Copied CM 12.1 to the phone, flashed n twrp, phone booted but same issue pertain, and I also tried flashing RR ROM, but in that it shows no SIM Card despite the SIM Cards are present.
When I use *#*#4636#*#*, under phone information unable to toggle/change TURN ON RADIO, it doesn't respond?
Any help be highly appreciated
In what way you flashed zui 2.5.330 i mean though twrp or qfil....
Try to flash using qfil....
This has no solution. Sometimes gets fixed in a day, sometimes doesn't even in weeks.
You can try keep restarting it. This time it's day 5th & I am still facing it.
If you get the network back, try NEVER TO LET IT TURN OFF. I keep it powered on for months & everything goes fine, once powered off due to battery & wao it'll get back

This happens & I have tried imie changers too but that doesn't solve the issue.
Two possible solutions
Insert SIM's while phone is running.
Do a warm start if possible.
I reckon if you do a full reboot the SIMslot starts to late.
Had the same issue.
I've managed to fix the "SIM card is not allowed" problem by entering *#*#4636#*#* -> Phone Information -> Network Type -> Global Auto (PRL). Rom is PixelExperience 8.0. The problem sim card should be in the slot #1.
Hello XDA,
I recently purchased a H910 from EBAY.
I was able to install Oreo and root it using the excellent tutorials before I was able to have a working sim card on hand so I cannot confirm if this phone was good or bad as I received it. I am using an activated ATT sim card and have used it in another phone with calls, texts, and data working. I have not for the life of me been able to get the any of these features to work on the H910. I have checked the APN settings, I have confirmed both the IMEI number and the sim ID number with ATT. The H910 is able to see the sim card but no mobile network is connected. I can use wifi calling and texting.
I did make a backup/dump of the phone and have flashed the modems, fsg, and misc images with no effect.
I have tried to restore to a stock image of 10q and 20G with the results ending in boot loops so I have not been able to test the stock firmware.
Is there any way to test for a hardware fault?
I would like to avoid returning this phone for something that could be fixed on my end.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

are you sure the roms are flashing correctly ? no errors in TWRP ?
I have restored many times with those 2 files and never had a bootloop, flash the 10q or 20G rom then format data before you reboot

Ive had nothing but great luck getting phones off ebay, but it really sounds like you may have gotten a lemon.
The H910v20 is one of the easiest phones to root and return to stock the 20G rom should work and immediately ask to update to 20H with a AT&T sim in it.
taking the 20G to 20H update will insure you have all the correct modem files and APN.

clsA, Thank you for taking the time to reply, and for your excellent tutorials.
I tried both the stock(default) APN and manually entering the nxtgenphone APN info I was prompted by ATT but no change. Searches for a signal for about 30 seconds and the throws an x over the signal bars. The phone does detect the sim card and shows my phone number.
I do think it is hardware failure. All of the modem problems I have read have an error saying that the radio is off. I do not get this I get a message stating out of service. I also copied the Modem files from another stock H910 20H from a friend and that did not change anything. Their phone also shows signal bars even when the sim card is removed.
I checked the MD5 Hashes and they are correct on the SD card I was using. I saw no errors in TWRP and I tried 3 different flashing combos with both 10q and 20H. The first was to format device and then advance wipe system, cache, and dalvik, then flash, followed by format device. I then tried just format before and format after flashing, and then not formatting before and only formatting after and got the same boot loops with the 3 combos depending on whether I was using 10q or 20g. ie 2 different boot loops with the different zips. Once the boot loop started I could get to the stock recovery to "erase" the phone but that had no change. The only way I found to stop the loops was to flash the 996.kdz file using lgup and start over. The 20H file works perfectly. as does the 10R. It is really odd.
