Dear, a system update has appeared today. However, after downloading, it fails. I think it's because of root. Has anyone experienced something like this or is there any solution to install this update (75MB)
Only option is to use mi flash tool for clean installation and take ota update.I tried all possible options to take ota ;but nothing worked for me.Mi flash tool also not working for me.I used 29 fastboot commands to restore my phone.
Hello, did anyone find an option to make an OTA System Update with unlocked Bootloader, TWRP installed, Magisk root installed and Android One 9 running?
Systemupdate always abort after download

Hi all,
I am using XT1643 indian version. I have successfully rooted it using TWRP recovery. However, I haven't changed the rom. Today, it is showing OTA update of security fixes. Should I update it or is there any particular method for updating or should I ignore the update.
Thanks.

flash stock recovery and then update
FlashFire
or Just use Flashfire A handy Application for updating rooted phone. but remember one thing always keep backup and stock rom file to your pc if something goes wrong you can easily re flash your stock rom.
Both options doesn't work.
With FlashFire, it is impossible to find the update file, and with stock recovery, its gives an error when updating
If FlashFire doesn't work, you should first unroot your device, uninstall xposed if you already installed it, also remember to use stock kernal after that.. flash stock recovery than update via ota. Let us update what happen
Edit :- I tried my self
1. unistalled xposed
2. un rooted
3. wiped all data, dalvik cache, and other stuf..exclude system
4. rebooted
5. flashed stock recovery
6. reboot again
7. download ota
8. device reboot again in stock recovery
9. And failed to update
10. So we cant update our phone unless new updated stock images available...
Hi,
I'm using HTC ONE M9+, today finally HTC released 6.0 Update for M9+,my hpne downloading update without any problem when i click to Install Now it says Rebooting and after reboot TWRP Kicks in and does nothing. Is there any way to disable TWRP to install this new update ?
Flash back the corresponding "stock" recovery.
You must also have an unmodified system to apply the OTA successfully.
i've flashed "recovery_verified.img__TW_1.90.709.3" now TWRp disabled but during update (at %23) it says OTA failed, my OTA is TW, according to error message i need europe's OTA which i couldn't find on internet
i actually have the same issue i have tried copying the ota and tried flashing through adb but it shows that error executing updater binary zip file and errror flashing the device
im running L 5.0.1 and want to update to m 6.0.1 through ota
i have unlocked bootloader but s-on .how to flash the otp? thanks in advance
MIracles happen! Is there anyone that have already made the update and can tell if the sense it's still there or if HTC have removed everything like in the HTC 10?
i think i can update my phone to 6.0 if i can find Europe OTA, i've searched everywhere but i couldn't find it
even i have downloaded the update but cant install as i have system partition modified...i ve searched for a ruu or stock rom but couldnt find anywhere...however i do have the Indian OTA update.
did anyone managed to install 6.0 update yet ?
Firmware Finder shows there's a new update available for my BTV-W09. It's B355 dated 06/05/18. It's a small OTA, only 190mb. Has anybody installed it? Does anybody know what's in it?
Firmware Finder provides the changelog. It has the June security patches.
No netflix hd update? ****!
How install? I don't remember. [emoji28]. Thanks in advance.

Anyone have any luck applying this update with TWRP recovery? Looks like it is going to require a flash back to stock to apply?
I was only able to install it with stock. Even then, it had to be the full install, not the OTA update. That install locks the bootloader and unroots; so I then had to re-unlock, which of course wipes the entire device, and then restore from a Google and Titanium backup. Not sure updating is worth the pain. really.
My rooted tab is now threatening to install this update when I reboot. Does anybody remember how to stop a firmware update when it wants to update on reboot?
I don't think there's much to worry about as if you're rooted with TWRP, it'll just reboot into TWRP and wait for you to manually apply it, if you can find it on the file system.
I'm currently trying to apply B356 which was recently released. This minor update contains the July 2018 Google security patches. The last time I did this from B351, this is what I did:
Via TWRP, Installed the 2 full OTA zip files for B352 downloaded with firmwarefinder. This replaced TWRP with the stock recovery but did not wipe my data.
Rebooted, and applied B353 via the normal OTA through settings. This installed the B353 full package (2.52GB).
Reinstalled TWRP with fastboot (twrp_BTV-W09_5_greatslon.img)
Booted to TWRP & installed Magisk
Re-enabled the 5GHz wifi radio
However, this doesn't seem to be working with B356 thus far. Installing the Firmwarefinder zip files failed (at least update.zip did, I didn't try the other two) so I installed the FF B352 images mentioned above. However, applying the stock OTA through settings wants to install 3 patches (B353, June 18, July 18) of size 786MB. They downloaded successfully but then it fails to apply during the reboot.
Anyone else have any luck? What did you wind up doing?
Thanks!
Every time I've applied an update, I ended up locking the bootloader and then having the phone wiped when I unlock the bootloader. I'd love to find a way to update without locking the bootloader. If you find a way to that with this update, please let post how you did it!
I have a rooted (With magisk) L29 P10+...So I have tried direct OTA update from EMUI...downloads and on reboot goes to TWRP. I tried using Firmware Finder and same thing happens (with and without proxy). I then tried uninstalling Magisk (root) and trying again but that did not work.
What I would like is top go to the newest OTA update so I don't keep getting the NAG message of my need to update...but MOST IMPORTANTLY...I do not want to have to redo my phone, i.e. data and layouts with folders. Is it possible? I cannot seem to find a link for the p10+...I kind of see one for the Honor and TWRP install but I do not want to corrupt and have to start from scratch.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
I have same issue. Did you get this resolved?
Well. i guess you have to:
a) install original recovery (may get one from update file or from forum, i saw download links here) with fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk recovery_ramdis.img
b) install update
c) install twrp with fastboot
d) install magisk from twrp
actually, there's this thread, which worked for me also. https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-plus/how-to/flash-stock-updates-twrp-installed-t3819734
After a long time I finally decided to upgrade to PIE (stock).
The latest official Fastboot ROM I could find is from May (V10.0.9.0) - so this is what I used to install.
Everything went fine, and as expected I was prompted for an OTA upgrade to August which I performed. The Build number become ...V10.0.12.0
Afterwards I installed Magsik (V19.3) via Boot to TWRP - also with no problem.
But surprise: I was prompted for another OTA-upgrade this time to July2019, and the Build number shows V10.0.9.0 !
Ok, I uninstalled Magisk to get this upgrade done, but the upgrade failed..
Went back to re-flash the Fastboot ROM for May and .. and ... and the story repeated.
Any idea what's going on?
I would reflash whole ROM with the latest official Fastboot ROM again (do not forget to remove bootloader lock command from the flashing script or you'll lose your data) and flash Magisk from TWRP. For the OTA update follow this guide, you don't really need to mess up with TWRP more than once https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/blob/master/docs/tutorials.md.
One thing to keep in mind - do NOT allow system modifications in TWRP as it will mount system partition as R/W and prevent future OTA updates to install. If you allowed it somewhere in the past (or you don't remember) - delete TWRP settings from /sdcard/TWRP and pay attention on the first boot of TWRP.
