No Bluetooth Codec Settings - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Hi there,
I'm running OOS 4.5.14 and since one of the latest updates (I can't tell when) I'm no longer able to access the Bluetooth Audio Codec Settings under:
Settings -> Advanced -> Bluetooth Audio Codec (aptX / aptX-HD)
Any ideas what I can do / what went wrong? Bluetooth Audio is working,
Thx, bigtreiber

Does anybody have any suggestion?

Have you tried dirty flashing .14? If yes then I'd wipe everything and flash .14 from completely clean.

[Q] e610 CM11 bluetooth problem

Problem: Music does not play after connecting bluetooth headset; power-off headset and music plays fine.
Don't know if this problem was from when I formatted/wiped every partition/folder available in CWM recovery, CM11 9.5 beta, Skernel RC3, or melting nfc with ES File Explorer 'uninstall system app'. Everything else is stable(finally) and working, and have been using this e610 for two weeks as a daily/primary device. I obviously flashed the v20 baseband at the same time as the rom.
Can make calls and use voice commands with bluetooth headset fine. The ES music player shows the track but doesn't do anything, Pandora perpetually skips to the next track; until I power off the headset. (I uninstalled Apollo because it would start-up, hijacking my listening experience when I would use the custom button settings for CM11 with Pandora.)
Before I go through the trouble of backing everything up and flashing a new Rom, I would like some feedback as to where the problem might be. Maybe I wiped an OEM database that was needed during my pre-flash wiping procedure? In which case I may need to return to stock before installing CM11 again.

Disable LPA
If using PecanCM rom. In ES File Explroer, mount system as rw. Edit /system/etc/init.lge.target.sh, find lpa line and set it to false. Reboot

[Tips] Z2/Z3 - Bring back xLOUD on Rooted Stock 4.4.4 (+ Clear Phase & Clear Stereo)

[Tips] Z2/Z3 - Bring back xLOUD on Rooted Stock 4.4.4 (+ Clear Phase & Clear Stereo)
Dear Z2 users, if you had updated your phone to latest official 4.4.4 stock ROM, you should already realised that some sound settings are gone in Sound Effects. (xLOUD, Clear Phase, Clear Stereo)
I found the solution to bring back those settings, so I'm sharing here.
This method may work on other 4.4.4 Xperia devices too, try it out.
It's using an xposed module by @AndroPlus called XPhonePlus. Thank him!
Note: S-Force Front Surround does not work properly with xLOUD.
Requirements:
- Xperia Z2/Z3 - other xperia devices not sure
- 4.4.4 stock rom (23.0.1.A.0.167) - other 4.4.4 stock roms should work too
- Root - here
- XPosed installed - here
- XPhonePlus xposed module by @AndroPlus - Original Thread
Instructions:
1. With root and xposed setup properly, you are good to go.
2. Download and install XPhonePlus module.
3. Go to Xposed > Modules > and tick XPhonePlus.
4. Reboot.
5. Open XPhonePlus, scroll down to the end.
6. Tick 'Enable old sound settings'.
7. Reboot.
8. Check Walkman > Settings > Sound Effects > Sound Effects
9. DONE!
Thanks for the info, unfortunately the sound settings all seem to reset when the phone is rebooted. Equaliser is turned off, headphone type is set back to general & x-loud gets turned back off.

Yes. But that's a very small issue since we don't reboot so often.
Wonder can the dev fix it.

Work for me.
Flashing SoundMod posted in http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/development/stereo-speakers-sound-mod-v3-2-z323-0-1-t3015912 is a permanent solution. It works fine.

Note:tested only on GSI ROMs 9.0
1. Bluetooth audio connection fix
Backup the file /vendor/overlay/BluetoothResCommon.apk
Simply remove /vendor/overlay/BluetoothResCommon.apk via root explorer
2. aptX HD
Install "Bluetooth stack audio bitrate changer for SBC + aptX & aptX-HD enabler" from Download of Magisk Manager or Download Here (APTX for Android Oreo & Pie NOT WORK)
3. build.prop
Open /vendor/build.prop and find "persist.vendor.bt.a2dp_offload_cap=sbc-aac" and replace "sbc-aac" to "sbc-aac-aptx-aptXHD" (Add -aptx-aptXHD)
Note: if you don't find the add "persist.vendor.bt.a2dp_offload_cap=sbc-aac-aptx-aptXHD"
4. Restart device and test
Note: if it doesn't work undo everything you did thanks for trying

Thanks :good: . I actually did look at the thread before, but had the impression that the GSI Treble roms were of the ASOP variant, contrary to the note: 'NOTE: This works only on CAF based custom roms. It doesn't work on AOSP.'
Am I wrong, or is it the note that does not apply in this case?
it looks like not both ways aren't working for 9.0 Havoc.
we need better solutions.
I tried these solutions on the Lenovo Z5 pro GT, but the Phone won't recognise any bluetooth IEM's. The sound keeps playing over the speaker. Does anyone have a solution?
When I change vendor to r/w it goes back to file system read only and I can't save the build.prop file afterwards
If someone was able to make it work can you please show me the build.prop permissions!!
this ROM is awesome. but there's a problem. my BT headphone no sound.
in developer options, "disable bluetooth A2DP hardware" can't be turned off. any solution?
And for xiaomi devices?
What is the apk that I have to delete if my device had miui?
in all the GSI images i installed audio BT is not working.
And BluetoothResCommon.apk is not in that path, why ?
build.prop is there but there is no "persist.vendor.bt.a2dp_offload_cap=sbc-aac-aptx-aptXHD" entry
Any help to fix bluetooth for this case ? I can pair, to headphones connect, for a moment seems to work, but finally audio get played in the phone itself.

Thanks, but editing /vendor/build.prop reaquires writing onto /vendor, so what are the apps to offer rw for /vendor?

It can be done with root or in TWRP.
But now most phones have aptx-aptXHD support in original firmware, so there's a high possibility you don't need this step. By the way, it is not worth it to fix A2DP though, cause for now it's almost not possible (at lease I didn't solution) to fix bluetooth in call and A2DP offload at the same time. For me bluetooth in call is more important, and there's actually no side effect to turn off A2DP offload as far as I understand.
Anyways, to make bluetooth in call and Aptx (of course others like LDAC) both work, you'll need to:
1. remove /vendor/overlay/BluetoothResCommon.apk (if presented) (if presented and deleted, do a factory reset)
2. remove /vendor/etc/a2dp_audio_policy_configuration.xml
3. Enable "Force-disable A2DP offload" in phh settings
4. Enable "use alternate audio policy" in phh settings if your volume adjustment have any problems (if you got multi ones in different feature category, try different combination until it behave normally)(may require reboot)
5. flash Magisk module "aptx-HD-magisk-10_arm.arm64.zip" to fix aptx support
Now both sbc-aac-aptx-aptXHD-LDAC and bluetooth in call should work. Tested on 2 Qualcomm setups recently with phh android 12 based rom.
Hope this could help you and others having same issues.

Tho Xiaomi's MIUI really modified the whole aosp crazyly, but the device itself is still treble-compactible
the file is called MIUIbluetoothres.apk(probably,on miui 12.5's vendor)
BUT you dont need to del it.
To Fix: TURN ON "force disable a2dp offload" in phh treble settings.
that's it.(worked on redmi 10a.(MTK))
(ps: actually aptx is a qcom thing so it probably wont work on mtk devices.)

Wifi/Bluetooth dead?

After 1 month of usage my Shield Pro (2019) remote stoped working.
Asked Nvidia support what should I do. Answer was:
1. Please go to settings -> Apps -> System Apps -> Shield TV Remote Services -> Force Stop the app and Clear Cache and Data
2. Go to Settings-->Security & Restrictions; Enable “Allow all Bluetooth pair requests” and Disable “Bluetooth LE Privacy”
3. Once Done Restart the Shield and Remove the batteries from the remote and put them back in after 10 seconds.
4. once after restart try pairing the remote.

But nothing happend. Then I did Factory Reset few times but no luck. So I started looking for reasons and found that my Bluetooth is unavailable. I can't pair any Bluetooth device. Wifi MAC address seems bad and not working at all.
Do you guys have any solutions how to solve my problem?
The problem might be that the modem partition corrupted. To fix it you might need to get its firmware and flash it again.
Sent from my Coolpad COR-I0 using Tapatalk
1. Uninstall the recently installed software (applications that may cause Bluetooth or WiFi to stop working)
2. Restart the device.
If the above method is not applicable, it is recommended to return to the factory or replace the built-in EMMC 16g chip
Hello.
I have the same problem. How can i fixed?

***This should NOT be needed anymore, since A13 builds have fix this. ***Tested on 2 Qualcomm devices with phh android 12 based gsi.For now, I can't enable A2DP and fix Bluetooth in call at the same time. Feel free to tell me if you find a way.
------------------------------------------------
This guide provide workarounds for many Bluetooth problems, such as:

After finished the following steps, your device will have both Bluetooth audio (SBC, AAC, Aptx, AptxHD ,LDAC) and Bluetooth in call working.
1. remove /vendor/overlay/BluetoothResCommon.apk (if presented) (if presented and deleted, wipe Data and reinstall your gsi in case it didn't take effect)
2. remove /vendor/etc/a2dp_audio_policy_configuration.xml
3. Enable "Force-disable A2DP offload" in phh settings
4. Enable "use alternate audio policy" in phh settings if you face any problem in sound and/or volume adjustment (if you got multi ones in different feature category, try different combination until it behave normally)(may require reboot)
5. flash Magisk module "aptx-HD-magisk-10_arm.arm64.zip" to fix aptx support
Now everything mentioned above should work.

However always make sure you have permissions when modifying those system partitions.

This guide is for phh's Gsi.
My Bluetooth keeps on disconnecting. How do I fix this. So like if the song pause or buffers it just disconnects 50% of the time and it's annoying so if there's any way I can fix this...
