Strange Problem with TAB 580 - Samsung Galaxy Tab A series Questions & Answers

Trying to install AdGourd apk. Unknown sources is enabled under security setting. Clicking the apk will open the dialog:
Do you want to install this application? ....
I click "install" but nothing happens, the install is not responding. I can click "cancel" only.
Is something is blocking apk installations?

Yeah, it would work fine. I did it for UberMusic Beta. Just gotta' go to Settings, Applications then allow access for apps that aren't from the market. Same goes for any Android phones you might have.
it worked
You are correct ! There is the option in setting to allow unknown apps . Thanks and BTW , I LOVE MY THRIVE !!!!! AMAZING AND IT IS LIGHT TO HLD AS WELL
unable to install 3rd party apps
When I click on an apk that's on my SD card I get an error that say "there is no associated application for this file type" any clue what happened here???
non-market app install problems?!?
I'm confused. I selected the "allow non-market" toggle in my settings. Nothing special needed. Am I missing something?

Well you already did it then. Now you can install Android apps from places like here, XDA, or other places that's not Android Market place. It still has to be an android app, an APK. I think some people confusing that it means you can download and install any OS app. Lmao that's not the case. If you they to install something not meant for android, it'll throw up an error or whatever.

How to install third party apk on second user account

When I am trying to install third party APKs on the second user account that I've created on my Nexus 7 Wifi, it just says - 'App not installed'. I was able to install the same APK on the primary account without any issues.

I have exact same problem on my Nexus 10.
I think the only work around for this is side loading through your PC.
Before you try to sideload it, ensure that on the second user account that "Enable 3rd party apps" is checked under settings.
As far as I'm aware if you side load it, both users accounts will get the app.

Thanks, but err... could you point me in direction what sideloading is and how to do it?
To sideload an app, copy the .apk file to your device. The /sdcard/download folder would be a good place to store it. Go to the download folder and touch the .apk file you want to install and choose 'Install'. As mentioned, first, make sure you turn on 'Unknown sources' for the additional user in Settings > Security.
Well that's exactly what I'm trying to do. It works OK for main account, but on the second account it says that installation failed. It's the same if I install it on the first account before or when it's first installation of this apk on the device.
For me it says, "blocked by your it admin"... I guess that's me!

[Q] Paranormal Android 3.99

I'm new on the PA 3.99 and i have a question about the OTA. When try to check for an update i become 2 different messages. The one above the Rom-name (pa_find5-3.99-20130909) who says that everything is up to date and an other one who says that there's an error to connect. With PA 3.99 i can'n install a downloaded apk from unknown sources. When i try it, the "install" button doesn't react. Only the abort button works well
Anyone else the same problem?

It's a common problem with the Halo floating notifications.
Temporarily disable it (double-tap on the ring + delete/remove on top of screen), then install your apk.
After you're done, re-enable Halo from the notifications drop down menu.

Install Permissions Gray On Oreo Beta

I updated my S8 to Oreo and I love it, however apps like Advance Download Manager or Amazon when trying to install apps it request that I allow install from unknown sources, it prompts the toggle but it's grey and will not let me switch it on.
Any way to force allow this? There is no longer an option to allow unknown installs in settings.
I have the same problem only a few apps show as accessible. But the ones I want to change are greyed out. Any resolution?
Go to Settings-Apps- click on the 3 dots menu-> special access-> Install unknown apps. Guess this should work

Play store or Aptoide on iiyama Android TV (iiware 8.0)

Hi!
I have a iiyama te6503mis-b1ag and was playing around with it. It has android so you can install apps, but you either have to download an apk from the browser and install it from the finder or install it from a USB stick using the finder.
I tried using Aptoide but when I try to install an APK it says "unknown apps can't be installed by this user" although both the system and the app itself have permission to install unknown apps. It has this issue too for installing APKs from within other apps. I can just install APKs from within the build in finder.
I also tried installing both play services and play store, but when I open the play store it immediately crashes.
Does anyone know how I can get either Aptoide or the play store working?

No that doesn't work. As I said: both the system and the app itself have permission to install unknown apps.

Download kingo root https://root-apk.kingoapp.com/kingoroot-download.htm
install it, open it connect wired/wireless mouse, press get root, wait for it to get root, if it is stuck at 90%, press back and an error will appear, ignore it, close the app, delete kingo root from settings app section. turn off and turn on again, then you will have root, then try to install any app form aptoide, it will say root is detected, would you like to use root to install apps? click yes and wait for the app be installed.
I had the same problem, i bought an iiyama 55" touchscreen with iiware 9.0
The solution is very simple and works:
- Activate developer mode in the settings (tap on build number several times)
- Enable USB debugging
- Download and unpack adb platform-tools
- Move desired .apks to platform-tools folder
- Connect to adb via WiFi or LAN connection
Example: adb connect 192.168.1.1
Install the app using the following command:
adb install kodi.apk
