Too chicken, anyway, I think it's a bit too new to market, I've not seen anything in the way of roms or rooting stuff on it yet.
Tony

I do seem to have the same HU only for vauxhall.
Same MCU and Software version.
I did get kingsroot to gain root access on my device.
I just seems to be a fast made HU, with bmp`s on it showing a quadcore picture.
Since i am not happy with the look of that music app and due to the fact that i havent found a way to change it i am really close to just sending it back

Whv09-
Pity, I quite like this unit, the music app is a bit naff, I agree, but there is so much to like about it otherwise. The music app could be better designed with regard to folder heirachy, and the BT pairing leaves a lot to be desired, but apart from that it is really great in my old banger bmw.
From what I can deduce and work out from what Pumpkin have said, the manufacturer implemented this 2-teir MCU and Android 6 system because they wanted a unit that would interface with as many different vehicles as possible, while giving the least amount of support headaches. It makes sense from a manufacturers point of view, create a machine-level MCU which sorts out all the drivers etc., and lay the Android on top.
Best regards, Tony.

[PX5] - OEM app skins and mods repository

I'm hoping to start a collection of different skins and mods that people have made for the stock applications on Android PX5 units.
Apps:
Radio
Bluetooth Audio (A2DP)
Music
Bluetooth phone (Caller)
Lots of people are using custom ROMs or other work arounds that let them change default apps or install modded versions over the top.
There are a lot of decent screenshots of really nice looking radio versions around, but download links no longer work.
Hopefully we can get some people sharing them or developing new ones to people's tastes and car styles.

You need to specify for which hardware platform: STT, FYT or MTCD/E.
Mods for one platform do not work on another platform and can even cause serious issues.

Thanks for that advice.
I figured people could specify which type they have when they shared them.
I'm after MTCD/E for myself.

Below is a link to the Navimods website where you can donate 10EUR and get access to some really high quality stock replacement apps aswell as an entire ROM.
The developer has made a skin replacement update.zip file however this also changes the status bar which didn't suit my head unit setup. I emailed the developer and he was kind enough to talk me through how to replace just the APK files, and this worked great.
I'm not sure if he wants me to discuss how to do this though as his apps aren't free to share.

PX5C S32FO Android 10 HeadUnit

Hi,
I am new here and I have a new headunit with Android 10.
The unit is a Xonrich PX5C S32FO (RK3368)
(I can't share a link because I am a new user)
The unit works fine. Fast boot time. The CanBus information is much better than the stock radio. But I am missing a few options (Subwoofer settings, decent Apple Carplay, some settings like volume setting at startup etc etc.)
I am a total Noob regarding Android. I am a Apple user and I don't know much of Android.
The one thing I do like is the opportunity to flash and customize everything.
I like the layouts I see here with alle the flashed en rooted roms.
Can you tell me which Rom I need for my unit. (and a small howto)
Cheers!

Any updates about this unit?

[UROID] Android Box for vehicle head units - uses the Apple CarPlay interface

Hi all,
I have purchased a neat little android box called Uroid. It uses the Apple CarPlay interface to let you control an android desktop and install almost any app you like, including things like Netflix etc..
Purchased from: https://www.car4play.kr/product-page/uroid
Currently running Android 7
It uses an Allwinner H6 SoC: https://linux-sunxi.org/H6
It looks identical to this product and I am linking this because this website offers more info on some technical specs: http://indiwork.co.kr/shop/device/ai-box-android-for-oem-carplay-system/
I would love to be able to hack this thing and:
a) get more access to the system (the settings are heavily modified and pretty much only let you choose language, DPI, timezone and things like that)
b) perhaps one day roll a custom rom for it maybe based on a newer version of android?
c) find out how it is built and how it works
I have never done any of this and am hoping for some help or guidance.
If anyone here has experience with this I am happy to follow your instructions and provide you with whatever data/info I obtain.

Hi, we discus these Carplay Units here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/carplay-ai-box-android-headunit-dongle.4196931/
Your unit can be flashed with update for CP-21, 31, 41 or 91 units. BUT as I test them, the best one is UROID firmware v1.2.0 122217_global from 2021-01-08. https://03e41727-9992-4bef-befb-74b...c148f4ab1b6774d2c7a12d.zip?dn=upgrade_pkg.zip
Hey there, thanks very much for the info. Will join your thread.

How to identify?

So I just installed the beautiful Amazon special lol it works great and I think runs Android but after looking up stuff might be winCE with an app. Here is my info:
Make:
SWM
Model:
N6
Version info -
(Android man) APP-RES-UI1-20200605-0.1
(MCU chip icon) JST-V3.7-20200525-0.1
(Bluetooth icon) BT-V1.0-20191218-0.1
So is this a real unit or Chinese windows clone? If I need to I’ll take it apart as I need to upgrade the steering wheel controls later anyways. Thanks all.

It is fairly easy to see. Restart the unit and see if it say Android during the boot. Does not look to me like a pure Android however.

Emulate an entire MIPS system (or at least make it boot)

I have in my Renault Kwid the default, MediaNav Evolution (MN2) screen, with software version 9.1.3. I'm looking to modify some of the "hidden" configs, by entering to menu called MICON MENU, but since documentation and information about that hidden menu is so limited and contradictory, I wouldnt like to try it on the hardware itself, but instead, have a virtual machine where i can easily test what things go.
Its obvious that i would have to also emulate all the peripherals that the device itself has, but i think its possible to "bypass" them. I dont know yet, but i would like to try it out.
First of all i would like to get the OS to boot.
This is all the info I got for now:
CPU: 667MHz MIPS
RAM: 1GB
OS: WINDOWS CE 6.0
Ive also got an "update file" wich appears to have most of the operating system (i think).
Ive looked a bit in how to get starded. AFAIK, i will need to use qemu, but thats all i could understand.
Thanks!
Hello, i got a 2017 Clio recently with the same piece of HW and im looking through every exploit i can before paying to get an after-market screen, did you have any luck with your tries?

Sorry, I left the idea as the renault system is already pretty crappy, and trying to mod it was already worthless. If you have any MN2, your best option is to change it for the new one linux based MN3, or buy a third party one

No worries thanks for the rapid response, do you have any links for a MN3 head unit ? I've been searching to check if its worth the money but no luck so far, all i can find is 3rd party ones.

i dont think you can buy them. you'll have to probably go to a renault service center and ask them to change it. you could try looking on facebook marketplace, but you have to find a good deal
Hey, I also have an MNE, I agree that it's crap, however I would like to ask if anyone has tried to run AutoKit-WINCE on it?
@FAB1150 mentioned it in another thread
Or maybe someone tried to launch EasyConnected ?

Well, it would probably fail, as the guy in the thread you linked said, since those head units are made different but with the same propose, meaning that the hardware and software might be different, but they do exactly the same.
Also, one big factor about Windows CE, is that every OS build is strictly limited to work with the desired hardware that it was built for, more or less like any android ROM. The difference lays that Windows CE manages hardware resources different than any standard OS, thus forcing the app developer to make as many versions of the app as head units he wants to support.
Because of that, is that I want to emulate the entire MNE system, so I can test apps without ruining the device itself.
So far, I haven't made much progress. All I know now is that the CPU is an R4000 based mips cpu, with the model number AU1320. I haven't been able to find any datasheet yet. I also been learning about QEMU/KVM, but I did no progress given that I'm having some trouble to make a basic machine and support about mips emulation is very limited.
My main idea now is to port/develop some kind of scrcpy for the MNE
