Is it has some bugs?
I will receive my Note 2 with MIUI 8 Global. So how do I update it? (without waiting until December to the Global Stable MIUI 9 release for our Note 2)..
I probably should wipe MIUI 8 and flash MIUI 9 through TWRP.. is it right?
Through the updater app I think it's only for similar versions..
Yea , you are right . You need to wipe Miui 8 and flash Miui 9 , but i recommend to flash the official fastboot version first with MiFlash and then install twrp and xiaomi.eu's modded ROM.
About flashing it , i'm using it since september and it has no bugs on mi note 2 , others seem to have problems, but here aren't.

Well.. If I will wipe everything why do you recommend flashing the official fastboot first? If this descreases the chances of failures I will do it, but I'm not sure why
Are you using specifically the v7.11.2?
One more question: Do I have to wipe system aswell in TWRP? or only Dalvik Cache / Data / Cache ?? (I know it's better not to touch Internal Storage as I almost brick a device by doing this, lol)

Well , i think by flashing the fastboot version of the miui 9 you will have a better experience, because the partition named firmware is different.(It's like you phone came with Miui 9 out of the box , running perfectly.)
I upgraded to miui 9 from 8 and i personally experienced issues , even after wiping litteraly everything on my phone.
I was using 7.11.2 v1 from xiaomi.eu . Now i made a backup of it and i'm on AospExtended , which is very battery friendly with Psychedelic kernel .
To avoid any kind of problems you can wipe the sistem partition along the others you mentioned. If you wipe the internal memory , it will not brick your device, but you will lose all the photos and stuff from media folder (if i'm not wrong) that you have.
Keep in mind that if you flash the rom with MiFlash , you will lose all you have on the phone , so make a backup with Miui if you need the gallery or something else.

Custom ROMs are awesome! But sometimes, you need to get back to stock MIUI. But you cannot directly flash the MIUI rom. Eventhough, if you have made a backup of stock miui, you ll face problems while restoring back from marshmallow based custom roms. You will get an error as " extractTarFork() process ended with ERROR 255 ".
Dirty Solution:
In TWRP, mount all partitions
Go to restore, and untick only "firmware"
Restore everything; and wipe cache, dalvik cache
Reboot system
Clean Solution:
Now from above solution eventhough you ll come back to miui, but while updating through updater app, you ll not be able to flash the OTA files. This happens only on some devices. If you are facing this, you need to follow all the above steps of dirty solution. Additionally, download fastboot rom, and flash using "Flash all", which will wipe your data and internal sd card data too.
Press Thanks if i helped you

Bro ,can u plz tell me y is firmware failing to restore ..if u know..
This tutorial works 100%fine if any1 wants to go back to miui from cm13 based roms.but all u need to have is a twrp alka backup of miui ..
Yeah. Alka backup is required
How about we don't have miui backup to restore? Can I flash any miui fastboot ROM via miflash?
I have Unofficially unlocked boadloader with CM13 radio.
I have no problem with restore miui backup. But I am not able to flash ota updates. While flashing its opening twrp recovery and I have flashed it manually, but showing error.
I am running resurrection remix mm 5.7.4 with twrp 3.0.2 by kumajaya on my redmi 2 prime with lollipop bootloader( 2014818 Indian 2 gb ram variant )
I lost my miui twrp backups and now my pc is not working too.
I want to install miui on my phone back preferably lollipop miui 7.
Is there any way to do so without a pc recovery itself?
Download the recovery zip file of MIUI by googling it. (Version you required)
If you want latest version.
Then Google 'MIUI downloads' and search your device and download the ROM.
Then head over to TWRP and flash the zip.
It will give error for the first time.
Flash it again.
It will get flashed.
Then hit reboot, and reboot your device.
Voila! Now you have MIUI on your device.
I have successfully installed miui lollipop base on my redmi 2 prime without any errors.
Also I have confirmed from external app and settings the information of the device that it shows the correct device info.( provided my custom showed correct device info ).
I tried installing the miui ROM as sethidheeraj said. I started wiping system artcache cache and data but was not able to install miui after repeated tries
Then I restored my custom ROM backup
Then by following these steps I got miui back :
1 install your custom ROM( I had rr 5.7.4 mm) or restore your custom ROM backup
2 boot to recovery and flash the miui ROM without wiping system partition
3 it will take real good amount of time and the logs displayed on twrp also aren't very long, don't worry it is still being installed
4 just for your surity wipe data and caches and again flash the miui ROM
5 reboot to system and take a drink for a while coz it is the first boot
Tadaaaa
You have your stock miui back
Also no damages to your recovery or anything.
Download twrp 3.0.2.0 of kumajaya twrp because its device model no will be in wt88047etc...not hm2014818...use flashify app tp flash recovery. Img on using ur rooted custom rr remix...boot to recovery... Wipe cache, dalvil, system,data....then make sure Miui lp rom is in internal memory.... Then install it...it will give some error on start....then install again...it will take around 20min for install plus full boot up.

I don't have a video tho but I meant that you should only wipe data and caches but leave system as it is. ( My phone had rr marshmallow installed before.) After rr I haven't tried any custom roms so I don't know whether it will work on others. So just flash miui 7.5 like you would for an OTA but do wipe your data and caches

Are there instant apps working? On beta 8.8.23 xiaomi.eu it didn't work, so i've moved to global beta.
is this legit? I don't see the release on their website
EDIT: nvm its legit, anyway can I just flash this one over xiaomi.eu 8.8.30? I don't want to reset my phone and lose all my files/apps as much as possible

No you won't loose TWRP. People on MIUI 10 Beta 8.9.20 can dirty flash but won't boot normally and get force close messages and will automatically go back into TWRP. To fix this you will need to swipe to factory reset (wipes data, cache and dalvik not including internal storage.)
That's how I was able to boot normally and had to install all my apps etc. I still had all my data etc. luckily.
So be warned!

After i flash this rom i cant get back normal miui rom.
How do I flash it?
Currently I've AICP flashed.
Do I wipe system, data, cache, then flash the rom?
Thanks for any help!
Maybe U must format data: https://youtu.be/cvXbzhJEan8?t=26
How about battery? Does it heat or drain fast? Any bugs?
Really snappy. No bugs so far.
Battery drain is normal. Not exceptional.
My flash procedure -
1. Download latest build (I'm using 8.11.15) from xiaomi.eu website.
2. Remove all passwords/pattern lock (just to avoid any complications)
3. Wipe everything.
4. Format data
5. Flash the file via TWRP
6. Patiently let it reboot for the 1st time.
7. Wait for 1/2 minutes after 1st reboot.
8. Reboot to system (normal reboot). Login to Miui/Google account etc. Use for 5-10 minutes.
9. Reboot to TWRP to flash Magisk (mine is 17.1)
10. Reboot to system. And do whatever you want.. Lol
Hope it helps.
can i install gapps alongside xiaomi.eu rom ?
10.0.2.0 added in OP.
Changelog of 10.0.2.0?
Can't find what's new.
Is it worth to install this rom ? It's official ?

It's official. But my opinion. Battery is worse than prev update.
hello, fellow Mi 9T users, I was really excited to unlock the bootloader and flash the EU rom that judging from various forum, reddit etc seemed to be a major improvement over the global stock rom.
Flashed the latest 10.3.15 and found 2 critical issues :
1) battery randomly and suddenly drains 4 5 % after locking the phone for no apparent reason (at home, stable cell line and on wifi) and the phone once shut off by itself in my hands.
2) its impossible to set location to high precision or any other option, it only allows me to set GPS ONLY.
Battery also seem to not last as long as global rom, used to have 11 - 12 hours sot on stock, now 7 8 on eu rom.
given this problems and the not so big improvements over the global rom I would like to go back to stock global and just wait for official updates when they come, debloating useless stuff by myself.
How do i do it? where do I found the global stock rom? how do I flash it?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey Schnedi. on the same subject, I ran into an issue when I wanted to roll back to 10.3.7 from 10.3.12. I wiped system data cache and dalvik/art and installed 10.3.7 zip. I did boot into system but camera, wifi, sensors etc weren't working properly or at all. Was I supposed to wipe vendor too? Could that be the cause of this issue?

I've read in other forums (spanish) with some users with that error, I don't think it's related with the Vendor, because MIUI Recovery ROMs include vendor files.
Try to format data too. Or, flash the fastboot ROM.

I tried formatting data already but it didn't work. I read something a while ago about the Mi 9 (not Mi 9T) having to flash a specific zip after flashing older rom because the camera and other stuff stopped working but I wasn't interested in the subject at the time so I didn't pay attention and I cant find it now smh. Thanks anyway mf
hi!
i was in the middle of installing a new custom rom on my mi 9t/k20 (i think global/eu which was running miui 11 previously) and i wiped the partitions as follow: dalvik, cache, data and system
i believe that the only thing concerning on that list would be the system partition being wiped.
currently my device is stuck in fastboot mode (i can still send commands to it and do stuff) but i dont ave a recovery ...
so i have an idea of a plan which is:
1. flash twrp
2. wipe the 4 partitions again
3. reinstall the stock rom
4. update the phone to miui 12
5. wipe the partitions again
6. install custom rom twrp and magisk
is there anything i should know before i do this?
also some links to working twrp version would be nice (lost the original version that i had installed)

-When installing custom ROMs (changing ROM types), you have to F O R M A T Data (not Wipe) - it's totally different (stronger) and can be found elswhere in guides
-Wiping System is totally bogus: new ROM will nevertheless replace the System (no matter did you wipe it or not)
However, if you are changing from MIUI CN to Global or so - then totally different procedure applies.
It's not enough to flash the new System but also to change the Vendor.
For that case google for and read about using MIUI Flash

I don't really know what else you might have (possibly) mesed up. I have just updated the previous post so please read again the part about MIUI Flash
(If you were not changing from CN/EEA/Russia to Global or so but only installing a custom/AOSP ROM, then if you wiped Data instead of formatting - you would be bootlooping niw to TWRP and you would simply need to Format Data to fix it
But if you were really changing from eg CN to Global by just flashing System - that is TOTALLY WRONG way, why didn't you research how to do it properly by MIUI Flash?
In that case you could still try MIUI Flash, if not working you would need somebody with paid EDL support (I cannot help you for that)
Sorry, good night now

no i havent changed the region form the phone ... however my currently big problem is that im stuck in fastboot mode and i cannot enter recovery i could try and reflash recovery via fastboot but im not sure if that would break it even more. and since there is no OS on the devices either i cant use adb either. my last hope rn is fastboot and idk what to do rn to fix all this back to factory OS state or a similiar state
