Hello everyone ?
Everything in my S7 edge runs smoothly and super fast. But the only thing that makes me crazy is when I pull the notification shade down twice to see all the buttons, the animation is awful.
I don't have lots of apps running in the background (greenified them), and changing the animation scale settings in the developer options didn't improved anything.
Any suggestion?

Hey guys,
What's the difference between Window Animation scale and Transition animation scale? I set the window animation scale to 5 to see what's the difference but I cannot really tell?
Window is how fast the popups for things like as a example notification choosing, transition is going from menu to menu(with animations turned on)
1x is normal speed, 0.5 is twice as fast and 10 is 10 times as slow
Sent from my ice cream powered Nexus S
Played with window animation and it seems that its not used as much as the transition animation.

When setting the value lower (number wise) the animations are done faster, such as windows coming in and out of view etc (doesn't effect scrolling) I think home scrolling is effected though
When setting the value higher (number wise) the animations are presented alot slower, I set the value to 5 that you were using, from the Default (1), and all the animations were HELL! slow haha! Painful to use, felt boggy
Transition Animation numbers effect when windows come in and out of view such as opening settings, applications etc
The window animation is the windows "inside windows" that come in and out of view, such as if you set window animation to 10, and then go to the home page and press your settings button so it displays "Add, Wallpapers, Search, Widgets" etc, it opens hell slow
As well as if the value of Window Animation Scale is 10, when you get out of everything and go back into it to change it to 1 (Default) again, the window that opens that shows x.5 | x1 | x1.5 | 2 | 2.5 etc opens heaps slowly!
That's what the difference is

Hi all,
How can i enable back the animations?
I played a little with all the options (x1, x0.5, x10 etc) just to see the differences. Then I selected the first option ("none"/"off") for Windows animation scale and Transition animation scale and then these 2 options became inactive. I cannot enable them back. I have an HTC One V.
Please advice.

me too, using htc one v, i can't turn it back on though have reset it to factory default both from the power button and volume down while booting, or from the storage factory data reset setting.
i contacted HTC support but they simulated my problems and still be able to turn the windows animation scale and transition scale back on after being switched off.
My problem is with kitkat lockscreen, maybe you noticed or not but kitkat slide to unlock effect introducing some lag to notification bar. when you unlock your screen, try to lower down notification bar it lags like hell. If you wait for the slide animation is finished lag disappears, also if you touch that unlock ring notification bar lags again. I tried several roms based on 4.4 but same lag is still there, only thing to avoid is using 4.3 roms, which is a downgrade. So I want to ask is there a way to extract 4.3 or some other slide to unlock screen and flash it to 4.4 stock rooted phone?(using lock screen apps are not good enough and they do not look good)
thanks in advance.
I don't think it's a lag. I think it was made that way on purpose. By the way, I do not experience lag but when I touch the ring, I can't pull the status bar. The same when I lower or touch the status bar, I can't slide the lockring. It just won't work simultaneously. So, my opinion is that it was purposely made to behave like that. It's either you slide to unlock then pull your notification or pull your notification and it will go straight into that particular app. I always do the latter.

I didn't mean simultaneously when you just touch (or tap) the ring or just after screen is powered, some animation starts(ring expands or something like that) so that animation makes notification bar stutter or lag, you can try it by just after you push power button to turn on the screen and then try to lower notification bar you can see bar stutters(after animation stops, it works normal).

I see yeah, you're right. It stutters a bit. Try using art runtime then, maybe it helps reduce it (read it somewhere before but didn't try it).

İm using xposed so art is not really option but i tried it and unfortunately no it do not effect this bug much, only way i see is to change slide option to something else or changing lockscreen itself(if it is possible of course) but thanks anyway.
Is anybody running into a major lag when pulling down on the notification drawer. It's weird because everything els like switching between apps is super fast but sometimes the notification drawer lags badly.
Sometime if you have high resource apps pending in the notification bar it does that. Like maps running alongside with music playing.

Not really the notification but going into settings panel from hitting the gear icon in the notification shade lags and will take a sec before the settings page loads.
I am getting lag everywhere and reboots
For anyone getting lag or stutters, be sure to check in Settings >> Accessibility, to see if any apps have access. If they do, it will definitely cause a significant amount of lag or stutter. This affects all android versions but is a bit more noticeable in Touchwiz.
@whittikins That did indeed fix the issue for me on my Samsung S7, Nova Launcher was the issue in my case.

Thanks!! That fixed it for me too on v20 running on Android 7.0
I have the Nexus 6P obviously. well i had it on Nougat and it was good. I found out about the hidden System UI Tuner options and was excited. I enabled them but was only seeing the Do Not Disturb and the Status bar options for tweaking. im not sure if that is normal but i have seen 6Ps with more options. i learned about the Beta Android 0 and gave it a shot. overall it is awesome and maybe a bit snappier. i saw videos of people doing Picture in Picture and having youtube running a small video window on the home screen. thats sick. ok I go to the system UI tuner and those options are still not there. does anyone else have this issue or know how to fix this. i have not reset this phone once since i got it and it runs great. i just like new features and this one would be killer
Hi everyone,
I started using SystemUITuner to remove the High Brightness and Volume notifications and to customize my Edge and Popup notifications. After doing that, I have a new icon in my status bar that I don't know how to remove. I have attached a screenshot, it is the "Smartphone" icon to the left of the vibration icon. I also can't use SystemUITuner anymore after a restart, it keeps crashing. It was also weird that my phone feels a little snappier now lol and I didn't lower any animations speed. Any suggestions?
I think thats the screen rotation icon. I dont know, use system UI tuner and see which ones shuts it off.
