Are you sure you have a recovery image installed other than the stock one?
Try 1click root & recovery script from maverixx.
It`s very useful for for rooting and reflashing recovery, and You will see if there is any error.
1. Download RootTattoo1Click_Recovery_2010-03-18_Mvx.zip from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5835675&postcount=1
2. Extract rtattoo folder to C:/
3. Run rootTattoo.bat or RecoveryTattoo.bat
If necessary Copy other recovery file to C:/rtattoo/sdcard and run RecoveryTattoo.bat again.

Reboot System now
Apply update from ADB
Apply update from external storage

Disable cp logging
I have no idea what to do or how to fix this as i am a complete novice when it comes to Android,
Can someone please help me??
Go to sammobile .com firmware section
Enter your model S5
Select your region from the dropdown
Download a stock ROM (Free account needed)
Flash with ODIN
Instructions and links to ODIN under the download
Next time, come to XDA to learn how to root, instead of afterwards when you've already bricked it
Thanks for your quick reply and in the process of downloading firmware now and have just installed odin,
Yep your right mate i should have done bit more research before jumping into rooting it
For rooting

3rd post has the links
The one linked for the G900F works for Lollipop (Same one I use each new ROM update)

Downgrade to Marshmallow

Hello Friends, I just upgraded my Zenfone 3 ze520kl to Nougat, but i prefer Marshmallow i try from recovery mode to flash Marshmallow, it shows error and the installation aborted. Can any one help . Thanks.
What error does it show?
Error with some numbers follows by 'install aborted'. I unable remember the error numbers. I did three times all the time with same remark.Thanks.
That's not very helpful. Can you try it again and tell us exactly what it says?
Hi,
I downgraded a few days ago, here's an overview of the steps.
WARNING, this requires a factory reset so you will lose the data on the phone, so make sure you have backups before you proceed. You do this at your own risk and I am not responsible for any damages.
I assume you have adb / drivers all configured and know to how use them.
1) download firmware file http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/ZE520KL/UL-ASUS_Z017D_1-WW-13.20.10.152-user.zip and save to SD card / insert card in phone.
2) download recovery and boot img files for Z017D_WW_13.20.10.152
- https://mega.nz/#F!ok0V0RIA!5WKtHe98opzjVI3NPbM7Ww
- under the folder Z017D_WW_13.20.10.152
3) Go to fastboot mode (power + vol up)
- flash recovery.img (command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img)
- flash boot.img (command: fastboot flash boot boot.img)
4) reboot to recovery (power + vol down)
5) install update form micro sd card.
set the file UL-ASUS_Z017D_1-WW-13.20.10.152-user.zip that you saved earlier
6) wipe cache
7) factory reset
If you don't do a factory reset and reboot, Android pretty much crashes on multiple processes on start up, it is unusable.

TK

Warning- No file-contexts. This package is for "ww-phone" devices, this is a E:error in /side load/ package.zip (status 7) Installation aborted.
Same thing happened to me as well. I just went ahead to flash the RAW file (http://www.asus-zenfone.com/2016/12/asus-zenfone-3-raw-firmware-and-asus.html) and updated the software to the latest marshmallow update, followed by a factory reset.
If we Downgrade
Then we get update in future yes or no??
Sorry for bad English??
Yes.
Hi, thanks for the help. Please answer this:
Do I need to use Recovery and Boot.img the same version of ROM? Why?
Why do I need to install Boot.img?

Factory Reset, Root and install ROM on locked A5 SM-A510F

Hello everyone,
I bought a phone on eBay (Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016), SM-A510F), but it is locked and the sellor is not responding. I wanna do a hard reset (Factory Reset), so that I can use it again, root the device and install a custom ROM on it (which was my plan all along).
When I boot the phone into Android Recovery mode, I see the option to wipe data/Factory Reset. When I click on that, it says:
-- Start Factory Reset...
-- Wiping Data...
Formatting /data...
Formatting /cache...
-- Set Factory Reset done...
Data wipe complete.
E: failed to find /misc partition
Click to collapse
I exit the recovery mode and boot to system. I am asked to connect the device to WiFi. Then, a message appears, stating that "an unauthorized attempt to do a factory reset has been detected. Please log in to a Google Account that has been used with this phone before."
How can I get rid of this message? Is there a way to enable USB-Debugging from command line when the phone is connected to a PC? I just cannot find a guide in which the rooting and installing of a ROM on a locked Galaxy A5 is explained.
I am thankful for every help. If you have any idea, please post below!

Can't fix fastboot redmi note 7

Restarted and it stuck.
Tried; vol down and power, tried to clean davlik, tried to unroot via recovery, tried to use adb and mi flashing tools
http://c.mi.com/pl/miuidownload/detail?guide=2 [and this guide]
first I recieved error and had to clean checkpoint, then I flashed with clean and lock, nothing happened, I guess, then I tried to flash with "save user data" and still nothing, both times got "successful"
So what to do now? It says my device is unlocked, I can enter recovery
Anyone? Also if I flash via miflashing, which option should I choose? "clean all" without locking?
Please, send help
edit; now when I checked clean all, got error error cannot load [the path] :/
edit;
jesus christ this is so stupid
change path to \lavender_global_images_V11.0.4.0.PFGMIXM_20191110.0000.00_9.0_global_774a3e8c73\lavender_global_images_V11.0.4.0.PFGMIXM_20191110.0000.00_9.0_global_774a3e8c73\V11.0.4.0.PFGMIXM
and it will work with clean all [no locking] but right now it's on the flashing process, I don't know if it will work
edit; it worked!
