Hi guys is there anyway to rollback Oreo as it keeps crashing my gmail and outlook, other than that its seems to run great.
did you try a factory reset first. The only way back is to flash stock software in odin.
Use the desktop client from Samsung to roll back.
Thanks guys, I didn't factory reset but I think I found a way to stop the crashing.
I installed android system webview and that has stopped all the apps that were crashing at launch to start working again.
So just a heads up if you cant launch any apps, try the android webview install.

Plug in the usb on your smartphone and start smart switch. After the launch of the program it will ask you to update your phone. It will download latest android 7.0 firmware and revert back to stock
A couple days ago i updated smartswith pc , and it says smartswitch will not support "device initialization mode" anymore. When i search from settings and boom no more this mode. It says make it from your phone.
I did it yesterday
1. Install that smart switch app on PC/ MAC.
2. when you hook your cell via usb, it's say software update msg on smart switch(i.e. to stable version 7.0)
3. once rollback is done, you'd need to un-enroll to beta update via samsung + app.. otherwise that oreo beta updated notification will hang there.
If you get an error when trying to install Smart Switch PC about a "side-by-side" error of some sort (forgot exactly what it said), install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) first.
How do you un-enroll from the beta update from the samsung + app?
I used Odin to flash a factory image of 7.0 from Updato.
how do i opt out of beta? I used smart switch to roll back, but now it already redownloaded the new firmware.
Android auto didn't work even after usb debugging enabled as some suggested. Anyone have an idea how to unenroll in the beta? I checked samsung + but cant find as solution.
I used odin to reflash but update keeps trying to install. No option to withdraw from beta in the samsung+ app...
on your phone, open Samsung Members app - go to settings and then at the bottom click on Galaxy Beta Programme...at the bottom of the following screen click DEREGISTER at the bottom.

That won't work.... it stays stuck on the downloading screen on my phone and it stays at zero on my laptop....

Did it come disabled when u got it ? cause it was for mine
I did the oreo install with Telus and everything was buttery smooth. There was second update about a week later and it's not buttery smooth and cords and it's taken longer to charge. Not functioning like it should be. How do I roll back this install?

I have the Verizon SGP561 running Android 4.4.2 rooted with PhilZ Touch & CWM & TWRP installed. I just received notice of an OS update. Has anyone else receive this and know what it is? I hesitate to take any updates and don't want to lose root.

Now the question is will I lose root if I apply it...

i took the plunge and tried it...
i used the supersu and used survival mode and installed as a system app
I am STILL ROOTED

I didn't change my recovery, I only rooted it yesterday and then 20min later enabled su as system app and then survival mode and applied update. No issues here
So far running good, however when I go into settings and tick on airplane mode it actually doesn't goto airplane mode. The only way I can get air plane mode is by holding the power button and selecting air plane mode.
Not sure if this is a error with root or glitch with the new update.
We now have a reboot option tho (not like I have ever needed it on this awesome tab)
On mine the update fails. Says "There was a problem with the update..." As I said, I am on 4.4.2 using NUTs dual recovery and root. I install SuperSu as a system app .
It makes me disappointed I spent money on the sixaxis controller on play store to not figure out how it works for the Z2 tablet a month prior to this update.
Maybe I could use it on other non-Sony devices?
Since my system update thing doesn't work, is there another way of acquiring and applying this update?

You can use this software to download the ftf file and flash it manually using flashtool http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...perifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142/ (will lose data and root)

Ive just rebooted my fire tablet after installing some minecraft mods, when I turnt it back on it came up with a promt saying it was installing the latest software or what ever it does when doing the ota, I knew this from upgrading to 5.0.1.
is it possible it was just doing what happens when normal android optimises apps on boot. is there a app to check the installed software version as im not near my pc to unhide and go in and check what firmware im on. I put this in general as it wasnt a question but just to inform that my tablet possibly had a update despite the proper steps taken to hide the ota and updates.

For a split second I saw that same message too when first starting the Fire up. But nothing happened and nothing updated. So I think it's still blocked. Even checking for updates still fails.
So I think we're OK!

I didn't unhide it, but it says I'm still on 5.0.1. There was no update.
I saw the same thing but it didn't seem to update. I know the method i provided works for 5.0.0 to 5.0.1. Until there is a bump to 5.0.2 or whatever we don't know for sure if the "fix" works under 5.0.1.
Same thing happened to me but it was 3 days ago. I had been trying all day to install my adb drivers without success and switched off the device. When I restarted it immediately went into an update and I went into a panic that the new update would block the ability to access google play but immediately after the assumed "update" I successfully installed the adb drivers and google play without problem. I also checked the version and it still showed 5.0.1 so I wondered if my initial update on switching on the fire for the 1st time had somehow been unsuccessful and that had been what had been causing the inability to load the adb drivers although the tablet hadn't seemed to have any other problems and I had already downloaded and used several apps from Amazon.
I let it update upon first booting my Fire to 5.0.1. I was still successful in installing Google Playstore and hiding ads on lockscreen.
I'm not sure but i think that 'installing the latest software' screen is the android OS updating the dalvik runtime files after rebooting when an apk is modified. nothing to do with an ota.

That is my conclusion also.
I had this happen to me also. Considering amazon patched a root method I made sure to root and nuke any chance of a future OTA unless I wanted it too. That was a cheap move, Amazon.

I'm having a few issues and want to go back to Marshmallow, so I deregistered from the beta program and am not sure now to revert the phone's ROM (keeping in mind that I haven't rooted a phone in a couple years and have no interest in going back to rooting). Does anyone know what the process would be? The Samsung Members app told me to use Smart Switch to do it, but Google Play says my phone isn't compatible. I tried sideloading the app, but it doesn't even show up in my app drawer. Any advice?

It's possible with kies or Oden. Just download your stock rom and use Oden. Or just use kies, all you need for kies is your serial number. I prefer Oden though.

I HAVE NEVER rooted my S7 E and when I tried to check for updates today I got the message you see below. I am running package disabler, I enabled all packages and tried again-same result. Wtf

Factory reset your phone, if your not rooted ever and running stock only..Many users complaining about this after updating latest 7.0 firmware..It might be bug in update..By the way factory reset your phone and report here if it helps or not
I would also add that I bought the phone new not used. It took me hours to setup my phone the way I like not wanting to lose everything...I have smartswitch on my Macbook pro will SS restore it after I back it up? Does SS back it up to cloud or local? Not interested in cloud backups.
After a restart I am getting "this device is up to date" from the update app.
Curiously my device status has changes feom CUSTOM to OFFICIAL. It was custom when the update app wasn't working. Also now my package disabler ia giving me an error "unable to disable package deactivate administrator". Now I cant disable anything in PD.

Hi, it happened to my s7 phone,one weekbefore i checked for update, it showed update available. I just waited for weekend to update but it showed same messages in above blog, i checked about device-status it showed customized , i wondered how it happend, i didn't do any change to phone, and i start to uninstall the app and apk which down loaded from web (not from playstore) , and few downloaded files also i deleted from my files-download- from internal storage. Again i checked softerupdate, yes it worked, status also shows official. I hope this information may help someone.

Hello, I've recently attempted to update to one UI on the settings of my phone. However, it just take way too long to download it and I just don't know why so i pressed pause download and instead, I just download and install it using Smart Switch app on PC. When I finished the installation and booted up my phone I still have the notifications regarding Samsung update. it was the update that I paused the download with earlier. anyways do you guys have any idea how to get rid of this?
tl;dr: Already updated to One UI using smart switch desktop app but still got one ui update downloading on phone's settings app.
I was similar problem in my Note 9. I just flash older modem via Odin and update info just gone from everywhere. Maybe in FE it work too. Of course any auto update in settings and dev options disable.
