so, the way out is.. waiting with patience?!
My guess is they're going to directly update to 8.1 and skip 8.0 as it's less buggy. It wouldn't have taken this long?

Yes is just a security patch anyway can you check in the settings if know you're on 1 October or 5 October security patch?

The kernel has changed as well, the only difference I can see is the telefoto lens seems to be more natural

Maybe it's a prerequisite for the Oreo Update. I had the OnePlus X before this one which got a small update like this for better support of marshmallow.

I just flashed the unlocked 930U ROM on my Verizon S7. I notice that the Android Security Level is all the way back to May. Is there any way to force an update of this?
Go to Korea and kidnap the team responsible for updating that rom. Then, force them to build a rom with the newest security patch. Easy as pie...

LMAO no no no I meant to catch up to whatever the newest is. Maybe my understanding is wrong, but I thought that the security updates were pushed out separate from the actual ROM update itself.

They haven't had any so no way to get them.
May is the latest patch date for the 930u. I've been checking daily for an update. I even have the Samsung Smart Switch app installed on my PC looking for the updates for the phone. I'm not sure if the updates are going to come OTA or if they will be a PC download only. It would be nice to get one!

I just did my daily update check and a 180mb update downloaded and is installing now. Nothing exciting in the changelog. Improved stability of the Dial??? Security updates, etc.
The update size is 163.86MB for me

Just updated myself. I remember I had a system update pop up a few months ago that immediately disappeared and no matter what I tried it wouldn't come back. I was already on the August update, though. But, it's good to see SOME sort of update.
Interesting. I received an update yesterday for my Comcast (Verizon) S8+, but they didn't even bother to update the security patch as it's still on October's. Is it that much of a bother to include an updated security patch?
If thats the u2qk2 becareful with the update, they reported that fast charge has issues unless you dont care about that

Always use full-ota update (around 2gb). And there's no update with April Security patch yet. The one with March security patch hasn't rolled out officially too.
The April patch is on FF but neither that or march are approved yet
There also a newer build, b368.
And I don't think it's approved yet.

Received via OTA last Monday (4/16) with my rebranded mate 9. Worked like a charm.
Updated to MHA-L29C636B368 using HWOTA8 without issue.
I think there are some optimizations included in B366.[Optimization] not like in B368 [Security]
B368 is officially out.
Also, there is b371 on firmware finder, which has face unlock feature.

Actually, thats what i said. 368 is already out.
The one that I mention on FF is b371, which has face unlock feature. So you don't need Magisk Module anymore to use face unlock feature.
But, still gonna have to wait until it approved or release via ota.
Btw, mine got 2 patch which explained the big size as i still on b362. Too busy to update.

Interesting....370 is the only one showing up for me (L29C567B370) (8.0.0.370)
Shows 2018.06.04 release. 372 doesn't show up.
Oh well...few days it will show approved. I'm starting to see a quicker turnaround

Maybe not as much if there are tutorials on how to use what you said to upgrade, and also allow us to use Huawei's camera app which is the main reasons why many of us bought the phone.

I use firmware finder, once it shows approved, I check the use proxy,
then, go to the wireless setting of your phone, bring up the list of wireless
connections you have, HOLD down the one you are connected to, to bring
up the settings, set the proxy for manual, set the hosts to localhost, the
proxy to 8080.
SAVE it, then go to the built in software update app under settings in the phone
and download the update.

From what I saw, yes. The users that skip an update get a much larger ota update later than what a regularly updated user would get.

I just got the same updates
About phone on top is starting of pie, in pie about phone is on the top... So we are getting pie in next update for sure... Seems time is over... By month end we should get pie now
