Requirements
Atleast 70% Battery Level
Locked Bootloader
Unlocked Bootloader with Stock MIUI system, boot, recovery i.e. software should not be modified in any way
Steps
Download the recovery/incremental ROM zip and place it in internal storage
Enable Wi-Fi/mobile data on your phone
Open updater-app > Tap three dots > Choose update package
Select the ROM zip and wait for it to be verified and decrypted
Select Reboot to apply update
If the updater-app method doesn't work for you, use Recovery Mode or Fastboot Mode.

You do not need to flash to an older bootloader.
If your bootloader is not unlocked, put the N7 in fastboot mode and run the following. Note: This will wipe your device, so backup first if you like.
Code:
> fastboot oem unlock
Download CWM Touch 6.0.1.5. This works with the bootloader version 3.41 from nakasi JRO54K 4.1.2.
Download cwm-flashable Superuser and copy it to your sdcard.
put the N7 in fastboot mode and run:
Code:
> fastboot erase recovery
> fastboot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.1.5.b8147-grouper.img
Reboot to recovery and install superuser. Now get whichever rom you want and load it up.

Which program are you referring to? Fastboot? Of course you can. It's part of the platform tools in Android SDK.

I have just installed MIUI 8.0.1.0 and after many tries this is how I managed to do it!
You'll need:
To have your Bootloader Officially Unlocked
Cofface TWRP
Complete Recovery ROM(MIUI 8)
ADB files
1. Two methods of installing Cofface TWRP:
a. If you don't have any TWRP installed:
Extract the ADB files in the same folder as "TWRP.img"
Hold shift and right click in that folder -> Open Command Window Here
Enter fastboot
Type these commands in the Command Window:
Code:
fastboot devices
Since you have already officially unlocked your device, you should have all your drivers installed by now.
If your device shows up with "fastboot" next to it then go on and type:
Code:
fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
Code:
fastboot boot TWRP.img
If the name of your Cofface TWRP is different just rename it to "TWRP.img"/type its actual name instead.
b. If you already have another TWRP installed:
Enter recovery mode
Install->Select Image->Choose the Cofface TWRP(TWRP.img) and tick Recovery -> Flash
2. Copy the ROM zip to your SD Card
3. Enter Cofface TWRP
4. Install-> "miui_HMNote3ProGlobal_V8.0.1.0.LHOMIDG_8976c33651_5.1.zip" -> Delete Cache -> Reboot
5. Disable the next two steps(the one with recovery and SuperSU)
6. Enjoy
99% of the OTA updates don't work because MIUI 7's boot image is different from MIUI 8's.
If you have an unofficially unlocked bootloader, use Safe TWRP v2 and if you run into a bootloop after flashing it also flash LazyFlasher(I can't post external links atm)
Please leave a thanks if this helped you and feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions.
If I can't help you, then other users sure can!

Disclaimer/Warning: Before you proceed, first take full backup of your device. I'm not responsible if you mess up anything.

I see lots of users having issues with/after installing custom nougat ROM like blackscreen, bootloop, backlight not turning off in lock screen, volte issues etc.
In order to fix that, first you have to install MIUI 9 Global Beta/Developer 7.11.16 Fastboot ROM using Fastboot mode. After that you can install any custom nougat ROM and enjoy.
Step 1: Install MIUI 9 Fastboot ROM
Boot into Fastboot
Install MIUI 9 Fastboot ROM using Fastboot
Reboot
Install MIUI 9 ROM
MIUI 9 Global Beta/Developer 7.11.16 Fastboot ROM: http://en.miui.com/thread-1119728-1-1.html | Direct Download Link.
Fastboot Install using Windows: http://en.miui.com/thread-408889-1-1.html
Fastboot Install using Windows Command Prompt: http://c.mi.com/thread-334-1-0.html
Fastboot Install using Linux: http://en.miui.com/thread-285121-1-1.html (Warning: This guide wipes internal data too, so beware before running the commands blindly.)
It is recommended to wipe internal storage too but its your choice and in that case you have to use the command "fastboot flash all" instead of flashing one by one.
Step 2: Install TWRP Recovery
Boot into Fastboot
Install TWRP using Fastboot
Reboot
TWRP Download: https://dl.twrp.me/rolex/
Reference: https://twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomiredmi4a.html
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
In the above code, replace twrp.img with the name of the file that you downloaded, like twrp-3.2.1-0-rolex.img.
Code:
fastboot reboot
Step 3: Install Custom Nougat ROM:
After you do these things, you don't need to flash any nougat firmware before installing custom nougat ROM and you can just directly install custom nougat ROM as you did custom marshmellow ROM.
Boot into TWRP Recovery
Wipe Cache, Dalvik, Data & System
Install custom ROM (follow instructions in the appropriate thread)
Reboot
Enjoy!
Update:
If you're still facing issues after doing all these steps, then flash this multi ROM Nougat firmware (Credit to Muralitharan) via TWRP.
Can you make it easier?
---------- Post added at 05:40 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:20 AM ----------
can I flash the multirom ?
I have no idea.
I think there is difference between flashing via recovery vs fastboot but I'm not sure.
After I did the steps in the OP all custom ROM with nougat kernel works fine without any issues.

I have the latest security patch(March 1, 2019), I've been searching for the past 3 days for a working method to root my mate 10 lite, found nothing.
Huawei stopped providing oem unlock codes, All the services that provided unlock codes for money are now obsolete too.
I'm trying to find a way to root this phone on my own, but I'm not sure where to go from here.
I've read this book today "XDA Developers' Android Hacker's Toolkit", but it teaches how to use rooting methods that are already out there and not how to create your own way to root a device.
Can you provide guidance on where to go from here to learn how to find vulnerabilities in android?

Sorry, I misread. xD
Well, you can either flash TWRP for Oreo. Not sure which is "best" though, take one with decryption support if available for RNE on Oreo. Then you flash Magisk zip in twrp.
Or you can take your stock ramdisk and patch it in Magisk Manager, then flash the patched ramdisk from fastboot.
I would provably go with TWRP and Magisk zip though, as you would need a stock ramdisk from an update.app of your build. So saves some downloading
Basically flash TWRP using fastboot: fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp.img
Reboot to recovery which will end up in TWRP. Flash latest Magisk using the Install button in twrp.

I can't find any TWRP with decryption. This one might work, it's from the MorfuZ thread: https://mega.nz/#!uD4FlCqL!ERBzP4ZWa2sR8f_wnn15F_cOFCdYVKgfYETjiehQkkQ
So it may or may not have working decryption. But if you have an external SD it doesn't really matter as you'd only transfer magisk to that.
Magisk from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
Download latest stable.
Flash twrp using fastboot.
Reboot to recovery.
Transfer magisk zip to external SD.
Flash Magisk zip using the Install button
You will probably have to browse to /external_sd manually as it will default to /sdcard in the install browser.
If it fails to install using TWRP:
Open terminal in TWRP from the Advanced button then enter this command:
dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/ramdisk of=/external_sd/ramdisk.img
This will dump your stock ramdisk to external sd, which you then can patch in Magisk Manager and flash the output file to 'ramdisk' using fastboot. You will have to install Magisk Manager apk first though, it can be found in the Magisk thread.

Okay, one can install Magisk without TWRP. There are plenty of guides on how to do these things in the Mate 10 forums. Of course, TWRP makes things easier ....
Code:
*** I'm not responsible for dead sd cards, thermonuclear war, getting you fired because the alarm has failed. Your warranty is void if you continue! ***
Code:
*** Everything you read here was a success for my ATU-L21 variant of the Huawei Y6 (2018). Don't be alarmed, the files mentioned here are 100% compatible with the phone ***
Hey, dear Forum Users!
Prerequisite things:
Install HiSuite, it has the proprietary drivers needed to operate ADB and Fastboot.
You need to unlock your bootloader, get them from dc-unlocker, it's 4 euros.
You need the following:
The 2018 kernel and vendor image: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1aFTTMSArwBuF5tsJBkWJ7f_d7IQc7zyy (credits goes to Boki, @deadliestPixel on Twitter)
You need this TWRP to boot up: https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-y6/development/guide-backup-current-partitions-t3853831 (thanks to @leepicstitch on Twitter for finding this)
You'll need to flash this TWRP to recovery_ramdisk: https://www.mediafire.com/file/7nyab3whb6bp7r8/twrp_3.2.3_atu.rar/file
Choose a ROM that will suit your needs from this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-y6/development/index-list-roms-y62018-t3854167 or try other GSIs
(I recommend Resurrection Remix with gapps and su)
So if you have everything, let's do this.
Before we start everything make sure you have a microSD card that has the VENDOR.img and the system.img you downloaded.
So, we need to make a backup of our current recovery_ramdisk for later, you can follow the TWRP XDA post above to do so.
After you've done that go to fastboot and flash the older kernel with this command:
Code:
fastboot flash kernel /path/to/KERNEL.img
Flash the recovery you downloaded with
Code:
fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk /path/to/recovery.img
Now boot up that screen flasher recovery you had before. If you booted it up just reboot the phone to recovery with
Code:
adb reboot recovery
, the Y6 Prime 2018 recovery should boot up.
Now go to Install -> Change Storage -> Micro SD -> flash image -> choose the vendor.img and flash it to the VENDOR partition.
Do the same for the system.img file.
Go to the main menu and go to wipe, then wipe dalvik/art cache, cache, data, internal storage.
go to the main menu and go to reboot, then bootloader.
Now we need to flash our stock recovery_ramdisk back, because eRecovery will complain about a damaged data partition. Do a low level data format, type yes, and when the emui recovery pops up, do another data wipe.
Now, just hit reboot and the phone should boot into the ROM.
Turn off the phone and reboot back into fastboot and flash back the Y6 Prime 2018 recovery just in case if eRecovery wants to do something weird.
Now just reboot your phone and enjoy it.

System.img goes to the system partition, obviously.
This worked flawlessly, the only difference is that I couldn't flash Kernel.
The ROM I used: PHH Treble 9.0 github.com/phhusson/treble_experimentations/releases/tag/v117
The steps I took:
- Factory reset phone
- Backup stock recovery_ramdisk
- Download kernel (unused) and vendor
- Boot fastboot
- Flash twrp in recovery_ramdisk
- Boot twrp
- Flash vendor, flash system
- Clean caches
- Reboot fastboot
- Flash stock recovery_ramdisk
- Reboot
erecovery did not complain, everything was ok there
Anyone tried this at atu l22 latest build?

Since the ATU-L21 and L22 is the same hardware wise it should work without any problems.
i keep either getting a black screen or vendor not mount or system not mount if not vendor ( ATU-L22 Y6 2018 )

.REPLYING--- Hey bro have you tryed flashing custom rom to the Atu-L22 with any luck?
Still trying to flash a custom system.img to my Atu-L22 after weeks of no success but flowing thru with countless amounts of tutorials, Anyone have any ideas for this phone, any help much appreciated haha?
I'm stuck in a boot splashscreen... This phone is really not easy to work with x(
edit : Narrowing it down, apparently, I don't have a vendor partition to flash the vendor to... I am starting to loose hope.
I need stock recovery_ramdisk.img . Anyone have? (Im sorry for my bad English )
