Got a Op5 last month, but when I use the capacitive button, it double clicks at times resulting in opening the double click gesture instead of going back (which was the intention). Is that happening to you people as well? Or is it a hardware issue?

Are you sure you aren't double tapping without realizing it? The keys are pretty sensitive. You could always disable the double tap gesture you have enabled which would eliminate the issue.

No. I'm very conscious about it, so I've been pressing it once. My query is, if it's happening to you people too.
I could disable it, but I like it this way. Just wanted to know if it was a hardware thing or it happens to people in general.
Do you have screen protector on? I have same issue with oneplus's own tempered glass protector

is there a way to calibrate the screen? sometimes feel the click is not accurate.
no, these screens should not need calibration anyway. If you're talking about the click being off a little on the home screen I have that as well, but it seems to be limited to the Live Wallpapers. If its off by alot you should send it back for replacement.
when i click the dot, sometime the search box pop up. the dot is above the search botton

I think he means the dots at the bottom of the screen to move from one screen to another on the Home launcher. The dot(s) is/are right above the search button on the bottom right of the screen.
oh, yeah that does not sound normal. try restarting and if the issue persists you mgiht want to consider sending it in.
I've noticed sometimes random touch events happen, I'll touch something, and something else gets activated more than half the screen away.

Sometimes the palm of my hand touches the bottom left of the screen and that will cause random touch events.
You need to touch slightly above the dot. Otherwise your finger is very close to the google search soft key.

I know for fact that sometimes I DO touch other parts of the screen like with my palm, etc by accident. however there have been cases where this wasn't happening and I still have miss touch events.
Example. I was holding my phone with my fingers in landscape with my left hand, and using only the pointer finger of my right hand to touch something in the middle top of the screen, at which point the phone pulse vibrated and the quick search screen popped up.
I posted to the google link outlining the different events that I have noticed. Multitouch would fix point averaging between somewhere you're accidentally touching and where you intended to touch. This however isn't the only thing going on, as I do believe there is some random strangeness occurring. I never had any such issues with my G1.

it happens to me,too, i thought it is caused by my palm touched the edge of the screen when i clicked using finger, but it is not. when i restart the phone, it,s gone.

yes. that's the dot.
I read from another reviewer, he said the sensor of the soft key is located a little above the icon for the key. this may cause the problem.

This messes up pretty much everyone I hand my phone to look at/play with. Its fine if you're aware, but it does show a sign of less refinement in a device that would have been nearly 100% free of hardware design flaws.
I feel the same way, especially with the soft-buttons and the "p" key in portrait mode. Last night after walking a bit outside my key-presses were atleast an inch off.....I attributed that to my fingers being a little staticky.
Othertimes my fingers just never work on the screen for a few seconds, rubbing my fingers together fixes this problem.
Something to do with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitive_sensing I guess
I find that sometimes my fingers wrap around the phone and just touch the front edge of the screen while holding it, causing random key presses. I guess I'm still used to holding the wider and less sensitive Touch HD.
I have looked very closely into this issue and it seems that the phone registers a touch when my finger is very close to the screen. It doesn't seem like an issue, but it is. Often when I'm scrolling through youtube videos, it plays a video. This is because right before I touch the screen and want to drag it, it actually selects one of the videos first. This is really annoying. It even happens when typing. I get the same letter twice because it first detects the touch when my finger is near, and then I press it, which gives 2 touches. Anyone else with this problem? Is there a way to turn this ''feature'' off?
Can't say I've seen this happening and even when slowly getting closer, I only type a letter with Swiftkey when I actually hit the glass. Maybe this thread can help? forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/how-to-increase-touch-sensitivity-t3443052

I tried this but this is not the problem as I'm not even touching the glass yet the phone registers it (I have turned on "Show touch movement" in dev options). I looked very closely with my eye to really assure I'm not actually touching it. It happens when my finger is really close to the glass. Really strange. Am I the only one having this happen?

You are a hero. This was the problem. I thought having it constantly on wouldn't be a big deal and it would actually be useful if I happen to wear gloves. Thank you very much for solving this issue.

No problem, it's a common mistake
Hello everyone,
So, I'm having a bit of a strange problem with my Yotaphone 2...
I did a factory reset on it a while back, and everything went fine, except now, when the screen is locked, I can no longer unlock the e-ink screen by dragging up the lock icon on the bottom of the e-ink screen. I have to use the hardware power button, which is a little bit inconvenient at times. I've spent quite a while trying to locate what setting got effected to make it not function, but with no luck. Anybody have any idea where I can turn this function back on?
It happened to me too, I think it was something related with the Lollypop update, but could be some setting that has changed and that I cannot find. However, I found that if I double tap before tracing the finger motion, it usually works. That's why I didn't look further into the issue.

Actually, scratch that... after your double tap suggestion, I started randomly tapping around managed just once to get it to unlock from a screen touch, but have not been able to replicate the movement so it happens again. What movement exactly do you use to get it to unlock?
Update:
Seems to be some kind of sensitivity issue. I can get it to unlock about once out of every 50 swipes. Less than ideal.
I leave the phone with the E-ink screen facing up (to prevent the gyroscope from switching sensitivity to the amoled display instead), then press twice the lock icon, and on the second time my finger touches the E-ink, I drag it up to the center of the phone. It took a bit of practice but now I can get it to work consistently. The double tap is because if the phone has been inactive for a while, it enters sleep mode, and it looks like that turns off the finger gesture recognition. Other possible explanations are that maybe you don't press the screen firmly enough, or maybe you placed some plastic sheet over the back display and that reduces sensitivity.
I noticed that the unlock gestures on the EPD work only when the phone recognizes that you've it in the hand or you're using it. So I take it and I unlock it effectively. Trying to unlock when it lays down and you haven't moved it for a while brings to your experience.
Thanks to both of you for the advice... unfortunately, neither seems to be doing the trick. Just a caution for any other people who are thinking of doing a factory reset - it seems to seriously impact sensitivity for the e-ink unlock, so be aware.
I never succeed to do slide up unlock even within 1st tutorial. Double tap unlock was the only workaround for me. Also activated glove sensitivity mode.

Nope
Reading the Elemental X thread, it seems like it won't happen without a big battery drain.
I have it working use Nova. Elemental. Double tap sleep and wake.
You an enable lift to wake as weel.
I found a generic double tap to sleep. Install this app, Pixel launcher mods. It allows one one to use system ui tuner, add a double tap to sleep widget zone, where the double tap puts it to sleep, and allows u to use the existing launcher with icon packs. The app is by quinns mighty apps and on xda labs
Oops, one failed, here it is.

I can get Nova to perform double tap to sleep. But there is nowhere I can find that Nova can be customized to do double tap to wake.
EX Kernel allows for sweep to sleep but again no sweep to wake or double tap to wake.
It's not as big of a deal on the Essential Phone given that the fingerprint sensor on the back effectively serves as a 'tap-to-wake' sensor. Just put your finger on it and it wakes up the screen and logs you in.
Double tap to wake requires power to the touch screen. This would require the screen to receive power which means it would be on. This makes sense on an LED screen since pure black on an LED screen means the pixels are off. On an LCD screen such as this phone has, you'd have a glowing, illuminated, black screen and battery drain since the display would have power going to all of the pixels.

Yeah good point, I had that thought too briefly, till I realized LG has been doing it for YEARS and still does it this day (I think) on MOSTLY its LCD flagships. I think my V30 was POLED, but outside of that all of the other ones were LCDs. Wondering how they did it...

that's not true only the digitizer needs power not the screen
the screen is actually 3 parts
the lcd/led
the digitizer
and the top glass

like I said above the type of screen makes no difference it's the digitizer that detects the touch
I noticed if one enables Double Tap to Wake feature, the lock screen wakes in one's pocket without double-tapping it. It appears if the screen is too sensitive to touch and wakes up as if one were double tapping it.
I normally carry my phone in my shirt pocket with the screen facing inwards and have noticed this happens often when walking or standing up that the screen wakens with double tap feature on.
I have now disabled this useful feature to save battery.
Please check if this is happening to you as well and post your replies.

I also noticed that, but if I turn off the wake when you lift it feature the screen does not come on. Dbl tap works fine then.
Also def make sure that accidental touch protection is on

The only time it does not do this is if I place phone in my pocket with screen facing outwards. Annoying as I prefer screen to face inward for better protection.
