Hello, new non-china mainland UNBRANDED W8 ROMs:

how to flash it?

tested, its include market, google apps, maps, youtube like x8 firmware. use winrar to extract 2files, and you'll get 8 file, then flash x8 with flash tool

how to get that 8 files?

Extract downloaded archive then flash it with flashtool, same like .flt file

tried to rename the 2 files into rar then i found 10 files if you sum the extracted files (2)
seems like those are the files needed by the flasher. pls correct me first before i test it.

i am going to upload the files in my thread as backup & restore...please check back after 2 hours...

i've managed to make and ftf file with the 8 files.
still having second thoughts because the original (blagus firmware 2.1 ru) has 9 files
while this (w8) has 8 total. 1 file is missing w/c is loader.sin .
i am still afraid of flashing it. LOL
ill w8 for 100% confirmation 1st.

That 2 file need to be extracted. rename the file to .zip or .rar then extract the file.u will get 8 or 9 sin file.

Yep, saw that and uploaded anyway if you just thought to create by yourself also

In one sentence:
If you wanna use custom themes and mods you have to deodex your ROM.

So here's I will give you a brief information about converting stuff to be directly flashable:

1. Download your desired stock ROM you want to convert.
2. Extract these files from your firmware:

Do the same with all the files I mentioned in point 2.
4. Rename

The D6616 is T-Mobile version. D6653 and D6603 are international unlocked versions.

Hi guys,
Since I am on a distant island, I cannot download the whole rom to restore the original boot.img/kernel to the finally do the official pixel update.
I attached a screenshot with the exact version. Looking back it wasn't the best idea to replace kernel while driving away from civilization.

Hi, Can you share the path/location for boot.img? I can try to extract it. I am using non rooted Pixel 4 at&t version if that makes any difference.

Sure, you download QD1A.190821.014 for pixel 4 (flame) ... It's about 2.5gb
You download from here https://developers.google.com/android/images
You extract the zip. Inside are a few other zips. You unpack boot.img from the biggest zip. You upload the boot.img i.e. on Google drive for me to download.
I would be amazed if you did this. I would resorte original kernel and then can do the update.
