Hey guys, I have a unlocked, rooted phone which i need to return to ZTE. I used miiflash to get back stock rom and recovery but need to lock the bootloader. Whenever I try to go into fastboot mode, the phone just sits in the "Please lock the bootloader" screen, but i can get into stock recvoery and the ROM starts.
Even using adb or stock recovery to go to fastboot doesnt work.
I used this package to flash stock:
ZTE_A2017UV1.1.0B32_FULL_EDL_PACKAGE_BY_TURKDEVS
Any ideas?

That's normal. I think there's a package called A2017U_FASTBOOT_UNLOCK_EDL somewhere over here (they got it from 4PDA). Flash it via MiFlash and it should slap a new bootloader there or something. After that you can lock it
Ok just to verify, i am on the B32 stock rom with the bootloader still unlocked using Miflash, i need to be very careful doing this as I have already bricked one phone this week (another thread is coming about that)
i should use this thread to go back to B29 then lock the bootloader?

didn't you brick it already?
I believe B32 doesn't let you access the Bootloader. You need to MiFlash B15 in edl. Then you'll be able to access the Bootloader and fastboot oem lock. But be patient it takes over 30 mins for it to completely flash the package. After you relock it then you can either ota back up, MiFlash B32 in edl, or install the official b32 zip from zte from the SD card.
Here's B15 edl package

Confirmed seems to work. After miflashing B15 (from B32 Nougat) I can boot into bootloader. Did my oem lock. Thanks
How did you get into edl mode without having access to fastboot?

Turn off your phone completely, then hold volume up, volume down and power at the same time. You'll see the LED flash red once and nothing on the screen. That means it's in EDL mode. Connect USB and your computer will recognize it and do as you wish

It will restore fastboot. It's written there on the guide. If you at least read it you would have known.

First time I downgrade from B35 to B29, then to B15. Took a while. 2nd time, I found a TWRP EDL file which gives you twrp and fastboot altogether. https://build.nethunter.com/misc/axon7/A2017U_B29_TWRP_EDL.zip

I flashed the twrp with miflash tool...
Can i flash stock recovery at same way?
And i dont have the stock recovery and that is i need it...
At this point it's probably easier to unlock and use twrp.

The link you posted works quite well actually. What i found is that you need to unzip all the files you wish to flash onto the desktop. How did you attempt to unlock the bootloader?

Same here. Just jump back into EDL mode and flash the full OTA. Download and unzip the folder to your desktop. I removed the META-INF File and flashed after the A2017U_** folder as the META caused me to fail a few times.
I was on lineage and reverted back to stock. I thought I was on the stock recovery until I couldn't update to B32. Is there anyway to unlock it again or am I just stuck at this point?
Just unlock silly. Why do you think you are stuck?
From my understanding you have to have the stock recovery to unlock the phone again. Is that not the case? I tried unlocking through EDL and miflash using the Fastboot_Unlock file, but the phone wont turn on after that so I have to re-flash .
No idea. Would never lock unless selling or returning. Still confused why you are stuck. You are not able to flash recovery with twrp or unlock in fastboot?
I locked the boot loader in order to use android pay at the time. The current recovery doesn't have twrp. maybe ill try using abd and the command prompt instead of using axon7tool and miflash.

got an advanced replacement and I am unable to unlock the bootloader with the toolkit even after downgrading to B19.
OEM unlock is selected
I can't even get to recovery using vol+ and Power. it just vibrates and reboots when i try.
and i have an FTM mode i didn't have before.
EDIT:nevermind I did it manually.
Holy cow this thing came with TWRP on it?!?!?!?
OMG now it just sits at the linux penguin and I can't get to EDL only DFU
how can i flash the stock ROM in TWRP?
Edit:got it.
anybody know the command to run in twrp to make root settings stick?

No, you have to run the command through ADB. When your phone is on and unlocked, enable USB debugging, then:
'adb devices'
accept the connection (should prompt you)
'adb reboot disemmcwp'
Just remember: DISABLEEMMCWRITEPROTECTION
so now i got everything updated and back to "normal" but I can't enter fastboot so I can't flash twrp. If i go to the bootloader and choose fastboot it just reboots.
flashed twrp and now it s just the penguin
Back up and running

I used DrakenFX's guide to going to stock using TWRP.
I am attempting to return my Axon 7 A2017G to complete stock so that I can use the warranty. I used the EDL tool to return to latest stock oreo, but it seems that there is no way to access fastboot/bootloader on this update. I've found many guides for other models or older versions on how to get fastboot but none of them seem to be specific to my model and I am not than keen on bricking my device again. Could anyone help me out on what process I should go through to be able to lock my bootloader?
This is the EDL package I flashed: A2017G_B03_OREO_FULL_EDL

I'm not even sure if you can lock the bootloader in stock+ Oreo, but it should be possible. What you can do is go back to MM (MM B10 should be fine), then use a fastboot package for MiFlash (such as A2017U_FASTBOOT_UNLOCK_EDL, it works even though you have a G) or maybe check if EDL Tool has an option to install fastboot, i don't remember.
The other way around it is not locking it and just using a modified bootloader to conceal the 5 second screen. Good enough for sending the phone with warranty. If you'll sell it you might be able to sell it for more if the bootloader is unlocked

Thanks I checked the Axon 7 Toolkit and turns out it does have fastboot unlock as part of the process of unlocking the bootloader. Though it techinically doesn't support Oreo I chose the nougat one and it still did the trick albeit with another hardbrick, once locking the bootloader I had to wait for the battery to drain again before I could get into EDL and flash back to Oreo. Very painful proccess, would not recommend, should have just used your method of going back to marshmallow locking then updating again. Thanks anyway mate, the help was much appreciated.

I never mentioned the axon7toolkit. That one is finicky, I don't recommend it. I was talking about EDL Tool (you might even find it if you google it), it's here in the ROMs, kernels, development section.

you need to flash original stock rom for your device trough edl. (rom your device came from factory, you need B11 marshmallow)
then boot into system, unlock developer options.Allow oem unlock and turn on usb debugging. Now connect phone to laptop and check the dialogue on your phone that ask for usb debug.Unplug phone.
When you did this you want to flash TWRP trough EDL.
Now boot in TWRP and flash UnlockbootloaderPackage from DrakenFX.
Reboot system.
Now turn off your device and boot into fastboot, connect your phone with laptop and open ADB terminal on your laptop or use Axon7toolkit.
In terminal enter fastboot oem lock,or in axon7toolkit choose lock bootloader.
Your bootloader is now locked.
PS: you dont need locked bootloader to recieve ota's,and make sure you are on the firmware your device came shipped with!!
You need a locked bootloader to get rid of the warning message ( dont flash any mod package that claims it delete the warning page)

Sorry
My OnePlus 8 Pro is stuck in a fastboot boot loop, can't even power the phone down at this point, fastboot just comes back up again. There is no ROM on the phone somehow (after attempting to downgrade from the beta program) The bootloader is also locked as well, and can't flash any fastboot images. I have attempted to use the MsmDownloadTool, but can't get out of fastboot to use it.
What can I do at this point?
UPDATE: After letting the phone sit and drain the battery completely, I was able to get it into EDL mode, and use the MSM tool, it flashed everything, but still no boot. Any suggestions?
Make sure that you are not connected to USB and select power off from the fastboot menu. You should be able to put it into EDL mode after that and connect back to USB so that you can use the msm tool.

Power off would immediately power back on and to fastboot. I let the phone die and was able to get it to go into EDL mode after, and was able to use the MSM tool, but still no boot.
Any suggestions?
Only time I have had that happen is when I still had the USB cable connected. If it let you use the msm tool and still no boot there may be something wrong with the phone and need an RMA.
Can you access fastboot from the command line? Try downloading the fastboot rom and flash it using the flash-all bat. I had an issue after doing an ota where it wouldn't boot anything but the bootloader. Had to manually change slots to B and then run flash-all and was good after that.

Fastboot does boot, but it is locked so there is no flashing anything through that.
Recovery can now boot as well, but still no boot to OS.
