Not sure if anyone else got this, but I went through the phone setup process without my SIM and then inserted the SIM and restarted. Verizon still installed bloatware (go90, my verizon, and one or two others I cannot remember). They were all able to be uninstalled. I know there was a rumor floating around in the Droid-Life comments about inserting the SIM after setup may get around this. It did not (at least for me).
I just used the phone as it came with the SIM installed from the beginning. It did have My Verizon on it and go90, but I am pretty sure I had loaded those on my previous phone (pixel) myself, not as part of the apps that came with the phone. So they transfered from my other phone when the rest of the apps did.
I use the My Verizon so it is still there, but the go90, I just uninstalled it.

After uninstall it was gone.
There might be a few other things, but I have not noticed.
I didn't get any Verizon bloat installed at all on my phone. But I did wait until after setup to put in my SIM, mostly because I was experimenting and updated to the 8.1 DP before even inserting a SIM to see if it would allow for bootloader unlocking of the Verizon variant, but to no avail. Small bonus was that I avoided having to uninstall any Verizon bloat and saved 5 minutes of my time hahaha.

Same here. All activation and setup over WiFi and waited a good 90 minutes before I actually activated with my VZW sim. No Verizon bloat, which was a very pleasant surprise. Was hoping for the same with the bootloader. I Miss my Viper4Android!

My top paid section is missing in the Android Market for the Nexus One. Anyone else see this? is there a reason why??
No its there. Are you in a not-yet-supported country? Maybe your provider hasn't done the necessary paperwork. Post some info!
that's odd. I am with tmobile. I did sign onto the market initially with WIFI and then with 3G. Anyone know how to correct this? I have to totally reformat? or can I just clear my market cache or something?
having the same issue, on t-mobile, i also went on with wifi before putting my sim in
Might wanna try a hard reset this time using 3G first to see what happens.
sorry to be a mega noob but i don't know how to hard reset it, i tried holding the ball and the power button and i get this fast boot screen thing.
edit: nevermind i found it, i feel stupid
edit2: that fixed the problem
Recently is disappeared the column of paid apps from my market

They are present in "just in" and in the research, but the column is missing.
Is there a solution that does not involve the wipe?
I had this problem until I finally put my sim in. The market appearently uses the sim to validate your location. Could be you need a new sim from T-Mobile and there is some issue with yours.
I spent about three days setting up mine before moving the sim over and used wifi for everything. Once I put in the sim everything worked fine and it showed all the paid apps.
I have never had that Paid apps in my Market section.. I ordered my Nexus One and had my brother ship it over to me in Kuwait. It never saw my ATT sim card, only a local Wataniya SIM card.. Guess it will have to wait till I get home to be able to use that feature!
This helped me: http://android.modaco.com/content/g...daco-com/303251/paid-apps-android-market-1-6/
In special, the last part about the xml.

Thanks!!
It works!!
I have been having issues with the Phantom Voicemail issue on all the Cyanogen Mod roms.
I have tried changing the voicemail phone number through the My Carrier options, that did nothing. Tried clearing out the Dialer Storage, that did nothing.
I have spent roughly 3 hours trying to find a fix. Does anyone know of anything?
I use Google Voice, so the dual notification icons get annoying, not to mention the fact that this one doesn't disappear, and reappears if I reboot my phone, or go in and out of service.
If there is a file that I can remove to have it stop, and allow me to just use Google Voice, that would work great too, as of now, I just want the darn thing gone.
You have to download an app and black list it. There's a post around here somewhere. I'm on my phone so I can't find it. But look for Sprint's VVM. There's a link to the app in the OP.

The two apps I can think of are RedList, and SPC (Super Private Conversation). SPC is the bigger of the two apps (I think around 2-3mb?), but I don't think the free version of RedList lets you disable the notification icon (I could be wrong? Someone feel free to correct me).
Is there anything other then an application that can block the notification message?
Removing a file or changing a file perhaps?
No clue, though I'd wager it has to be done on the code level.
I don't think I've ever actually ran into this bug. I gather it notifies you of voicemails despite not actually having any? Odd.
It looks like this, with my phone number edited out.

No matter what the time it is, this was on first boot up. Then it "notified me" again, at 11:17 PM.
It's a known bug on Cyanogenmod...

Log in and star it to give it higher priority!
This is no good. I popped in my T-Mobile SIM into my Verizon Moto X, and while the option to add an APN is there, it will NOT save. This happened after the KitKat update as on JB, I could manually add APNs and use T-Mo's service.
Disappointed. Any way to get around this?

Had the same issue on my ATT XT1058 - hard reset it and the problem was gone (just in case - power off, hold Vol- and Power buttons for few seconds, then choose Factory (with Vol-) and select (with Vol+))
Still no dice. Nothing saves. That means no MMS support and VERY limited data speeds.
Bummer.
EDIT: Here's what happens without an APN setup

Fixed it.
You can't leave MVNO type at 'None.' I selected IMSI, and the default value. Finally added the APN for T-Mobile. I might have to play with it a little more. I then put the MVNO back to None. Sometimes it'll take the APN out though, so I went back into the edit APN screen and saved it again while it was reconnecting to the HSPA+ network. Ugh. For now, it's staying put, but it might disappear.
Hmm, my data is still gimped with the APN setup. It's like there's something in the system preventing it from connecting at full speed.
Voice, SMS, and MMS work flawlessly though.
By gimped I mean my download speed is 0.05Mbps and upload is 1.0Mbps. It's like it's capped on my end. At one point I did get 0.5Mbps, but I know HSPA+ is capable of so much more.
So, Verizon may not SIM lock phones, but they're doing something to limit data.
I have the VZW APN permissions app and VZWAPNService disabled too.
I switched from sprint to T-Mobile. They screwed up and let us keep our old phones and did a discount for the hassle. I figure I don't need 2 S8's so I would just sell it. Welcome to my nightmare.....
So I factory reset the phone to get all my data off, I did this through the settings menu. No issues the phone reset. It was at the beginning new phone screen so I just left it.
The phone is at a password screen and I have maybe 5 passwords at most that I use various combos of, none of these work. I do some searching online and find out how to get into certain menus and do resets, and re-flash the stock rom. Even after those it wants a password.
I then think I'll just use find my phone with google and unlock it. Well it is a sprint phone and I have T-Mobile now so it has no connection, and I can't get past the password to get to the wifi settings. So google says it can't find my phone.
I contact Samsung and since it’s been less than a year they say they will help. I send in the phone and they send me it back with the crack on the back of the phone fixed and nothing else. I called and they said they have record of me asking for help with a password problem. I then ask if I can send it back and get that taken care of and they said it would cost 150$ because they fixed the phone......huh?
I really just want this password off the phone. At this point it’s a matter of I am more curious about finding a way to get it off the phone than selling it. I’m also open to all ideas. Taking it apart, flashing something third party on it.
If you need pictures I will get them up shortly. Or a video. At work currently, so I can probably reply in a timely manner. If you need more info please ask and I’ll try and get whatever you need
Thanks in advance

EDIT 2- sigh* I don't know why the images are sideways. They show the lock screen // the fact that is is not FRP locked // i have done a factory reset
fixed!!!!!!!!!!
I chose not to connect to the wireless network after setting it up and there are no longer any locks....no idea what that was about.
With this new rollout for their tower upgrades for 5g. Basically killed all my sony phones that were patched for volte and ims. For the longest time volte would work my xz premium but as of now the old patches and old ways of getting volte on xz premium are gone. Dead. I currently have the oneplus n10 5g, and this thing is just a trash can. My xz premium is still king over this phone. If there is some miracle to make xzp work that I'm missing let me know. If not rip my sony phones
I've got a G8141 and was considering moving from AT&T to another carrier like Mint or T-Mobile just to see if I could get VoLTE on it somewhere, but this post isn't very inspiring xD. It's really sad since it's such a beautiful phone, I like the design more than the newer Sony phones.
I've tried so many variations on the posted methods for volte and vowifi...sadly, as you say, none of them work anymore. The device now identifies the SIM as a customization 400; I've altered the apk's to point it to 408 and got the modem file and overlays to install, but still no volte or vowifi. If anyone out there sees this and would like to try or has gotten it to work, please let me know. The device is listed as "fully compatible" on t-mobiles website, but as the xz2 is actually blocked and their website lists them as "not blocked by the network" I don't know how much stock I put in their web site....
@lonewolfbtown I had been wondering if there was anyone still trying to get Xperia phones working on TMobile with VoLTE ahead of the shutdown. I have been following some guidance from early 2020 with flashing the US firmware XZ3 OEM sin files with XZ2 firmware onto my Xperia XZ2 to no avail. VoLTE shows that it is provisioned in settings, but it continues to drop to 3g when making calls, and doesn't make a call altogether when setting the Network settings to "LTE only." The Modem config shows as "unknown" as well, which should read as some path/string referencing TMobile if things were actually working.
This is quite literally the only post/thread I have found that points to the workaround of flashing the sin files as no longer working on US T-Mobile. Frustrating to find this so late in the game but appreciate you passing it along.
Is this considered VoLTE? Mine doesn't drop of 3G/H+ when placing a call. Wifi calling also works as normal.
