Hi everybody!
I recently got new phone- Xperia Z. I wanted to unlock bootloader first, but the problem was that carrier on it (The Phone is from France SFR if somebody know) blocked chance for unlocking it. So I rooted my phone and tried to flash TWRP through Flashify. This one didn't work, it said "Partition Not Found". Then I founded this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...cked-bootloader-cwm-recovery-6-0-2-8-t2187363 but link is dead -_-. So can anybody please help me flashing Custom Recovery? I mean I know that there is not a lot of ROMs that support's locked bootloader, but I found this MIUI 8 Android M Custom which I would love to install.
I would really, really, really appreciate any help!
Thanks in Advance.
Btw. Sorry for bad English...still learning it
My advice-stick to the stock. You just got your phone and you are trying to install new rom? That's nonsense for me. Stick to the stock, root your phone(You already did) and enjoy your phone unless you want to fu*k up something. Grettings

But I always do that heh. When Galaxy Ace 2 was new, first what I did is to install KitKat for it. When I got Galaxy SIII i installed CM12. So I would love to have Custom ROM on my Xperia Z.
EDIT: I might be young, but I know what I want to do

Since removing my Simlock and flashing generic stock firmware onto my phone using Flashtool, It says I can now unlock my bootloader. If the firmware you are looking at says it is ok to use with locked bootloader then could you just flash it using Flashtool?
How about this https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/z-xzdualrecovery-qa-t2477769 ?
This is my first recovery back then when my Z still locked.

Hello everyone, I would like to have some help about installing custom roms on x10 devices...
Being honest the one who has the problem is my friend, he's in México using a Telcel Xperia X10, and we did all the steps for rooting the phone and so on.
The phone has already superuser and xrecovery, but when we try to put custom roms for locked bootloader always obtain the same line "Installation aborted". Of course we follow the threads abouts roms but nothing....
I don't know why this mistake?? Did anyone have the same problem??
The phone: Android 2.3.3, baseband 2.1.71, compilation 3.0.1.G.0.75....
FlashTool_0.2.9.1
Trying to install XSP rom for locked bootloader
Please if someone has a solution I would appreciate it so much or send me a PM...
Thanks.....

Hello , I guess you are getting the error because you are using rom.zip for unlocked bootloaders . Make sure you are using the correct zip file .
Or else you can unlock the device via latest flashtool (Flashtool in X10i developement section) then proceed with installation . It should work .

Cool
(My phone is still running stock room, rooted, and with twrp)
So I was just about to flash a custom rom on my note since I learned that I can flash some t-mobile rom on my canadian (Bell) variant if I also flash a certain kernel(Only AEL and star[sumtin] I think) .
When I go to my recovery, I see on the bottom of the screen: dm-verity verificatoin failed.
I did a lot of research and didn't found anything, except some vague mention of that when bootloop are occuring.
So I don't know what I should do, if I can still flash anything without any worries, or should I unroot my note and flash the stock unrooted rom?
Can I still continue what I was doing and flash the custom rom and kernel I wanted to flash?
Another small question: I remember before rooting my note I had a software update available. I decided to root it first thinking I could do the update after (stupid I know), but I couldn't no more (I got a message about using a modified version or something like that). Is it important? Should I unroot my note, update the stock software, then root it again? And I guess if I flash another custom rom it's insignificant right?
thanks in advance! If I'm posting that because I really searched and found nothing satisfactory and clear, also bear with me I'm not perfectly bilingual.
It sounds like the custom rom you downloaded got corrupted, or just isn't compatible with your device. Try downloading again, and see if that works.
As for the update, now you are rooted you can no longer get any OTA updates. Most if not all custom roms will be using the latest builds. If you want to flash a completely stock (updated) rom, sammobile.com is where you need to be. But you will have to root the device afterwards.

Same problem for me. Was on completely stock rom until today but hated the lack of control so tried a custom rom. I've been a flashaholic for years so thought I'd have no problem but how wrong I was. First I tried TWRP recovery several times but kept getting stock recovery. I then tried Philz CWM but got even more problems including "dm-verity verification failed". I am fairly new to KitKat as I tried it on my note 1 but didn't like it. I am really angry that the stock rom prevents me installing bloatware and restricts access to my Sd card.
Have now managed to root and install clockwork mod and Echo rom and all seems to be working now

That´s what I finally did. Couldn´t resolve it in any other way.
After that I installed TWRP instead of CWM and also used another root-method as before. (see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2oOvf5tOCY) Since then the problem is gone.
Do you think I can just run Odin and install twrp without refreshing to stock rom first?
I dint even know if it's possible to switch to twrp after installing cwm without A fresh start lol
Might give it a go when I have a few hours to re set up the phone haha
Thanks for your help though!

I don´t know whether you can flash twrp after installing cwm, but I doubt it would solve your problem anyway.
Well, you could try. In the worst case you can still go back to stock.

Another thing you could do is, ask Rkrishnamurthy from this thread, what he finally flashed on his 910G-model? http://forum.xda-developers.com/search.php?searchid=325832927
He might have flashed the N910F-recovery on his N910G.
Or ask Aamirleo55 from this thread, what he did with his N910G: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...rp-2-8-1-0-t2923509/post56392220#post56392220
Sorry, that´s all that comes to mind for now.
Yea i was thinking about giving the 910F Recover a go... but its a bit risky hahaha
The link to the first thread doesnt work but i did message aamirleo55.
Thanks for all your help again man. I feel like such a noob right now haha
I reflashed last night to stock. and then re-rooted, and installed CWM. But after i do all the SUPERSU updates and Xposed Framework, my DM Verity Fails again!!!
This really suck, because essentially i wont be able to backup, restore and flash my phone like i use to on the note 3......
I seriously hope 910F TWRP recovery is the answer.

Ok
So I decided to download the latest CF Auto root and I found that the TRLTEDT corresponds with the SM-N910G - http://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
TRLTEDT correspondents to the India TWRP recovery - http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/266
SM-N910G also corresponds to India, Singapore, Sri Lanka and obviously Australia (where i am based) - http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/general/galaxy-note-4-versions-cpu-t2883741
So in theory i should probably use that one.

Sorry for the bad link. I tried to find it again, but also couldn´t. If you wanted, you could still send him a private message.
When I had the DM-verity issue, I also reflashed to stock, installed CWM and rooted again, and got the same problem again. Just as you. Only when I used TWRP it worked for me and the DM-verity problem didn´t occur since then.
For backup you could at least make a Titanium-backup, which in the paid version even allows you to create a flashable .zip-file from all your backupped apps & settings. This is a very convenient way of re-installing everything, almost like a nandroid-backup.
Or if you are brave enough you could try flashing TWRP-recovery directly over your current CWM. I don´t know whether that works, but as long as you can get into download-mode, you will always find your way back to stock.

I actually soft bricked my phone a couple days after i got it by accidentally converting certain system apps to user apps..... (idiot). Fixed the problem by flashing stock firmware and then re rooting. So i have some experience fixing this haha but hopefully i don't have to and report some good news.

Mate! It worked.
So for anyone with DM-Verity Verification failed, simply install the appropriate TWRP recovery over it and it will fix your problem.
also SM-N910G is compatible with the TWRP Recovery for Inidia (even though it does not say it is)
So hap this fixed my problems and big thanks to Parinibbana for all the assistance.

Simple answer....no
The recoveries were really only working properly on 4.4.4, and that was only if you unlocked your bootloader and flashed a dual recovery+boot.img. For some reason, flashing a recovery to the normal "recovery" partition, even though successfully flashed, wouldn't allow access to it. Only the "FotaKernel" flashing (dual recovery) was working somewhat.
Theoretically, under 4.4.4, you could get to recovery by using "fastboot boot recovery.img", but it was ify-ify if the recovery would show on the display. I had to do it numerous times.
Once you've upgraded to 5.0.2, the only option is
a. Wait for a dev to make a compatible recovery (probably fotakernel type, or one that can be booted using "fastboot boot recovery.img"
b. Wait for somebody to create a modified boot.img which will allow adb push (to push superSu using up to date binary). I can do this, but right now am busy at work, and won't get around to doing it until sometime this weekend.
Either way, I suspect it's going to require an unlocked bootloader. But I wouldn't reccommend that until you learn the disadvantages and back up your DRM keys.
You could probably roll back a couple versions to an earlier OS (ftf flashing) and try with what recoveries we have now.
I'm still on 4.4.4 (unlocked bootloader and backed up DRM keys, not that you really need them for most folks), so will be working on it this weekend.
Thank you for the elaborated answer! I have unlocked my bootloader, and was rooted on 4.4.2 but was unsuccessful in rooting 4.4.4.
I will wait until a modified recovery is released and hopefully be able to root then. Thanks again for the explanation.

So frustrating.. No matter what I do, I can't get into the recovery..
Hi guys I have found an easier method to root 5.1.1 (By accident )
steps
1)flash the ftf 23.4.A.0.546 based upon you device version(d6503 or d6502)
2)Download the latest custom kernel of Androplus(v62 recommended)
3)copy the same into your phone (.zip)
4)flash the boot image from the zip in fastboot to get recovery then install the zip copied earlier
5)download suView attachment UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46.zip
6)install the UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.46 in recovery and congrats you just got your phone rooted
I did test the same,got my D6502 version rooted:angel:
Credits
Androplus for his awesome kernel
give a thumps u if your problem is solved
This is useful only to those who have their bootloader unlocked...
Plus this method is not new... It has been around for quite some time
If you're rooted on previous version, you can make a backup of your TA partition, then do OP steps, then flash stock kernel, and restore TA... Easy

I just downgraded, unchecked the data, appdata and cache and flashed the kitkat rom but it caused bootloop, I flashed again and wiped all the data and cache in the flashtool and it worked.
Rooted, installed recovery and flashed the pre-rooted file from recovery.

Sorry, I am just a newbie in this.
I just wanted to know how can I flash the kernal? If you could explain the procedure
Secondly, in serviceinfo>configuration - it says 'Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes'
That means my Bootloader is unlocked, right?

It means it can be unlocked.you will have to unlock it to you the
But let me warn you that you will loose the drm files ie camera quality loss and xreality and all.....try other root method if you don't want to unlock...

Please mention For unlocked bootloader in your thread name.. New people will get confused and may try to flash kernel on locked BL and get bricked. You can root or do whatever you want if you have unlocked BL.. Nothing accidental..
Hi
How about root for z1 5.1.1?
Hello,
I upgraded my P9 Lite with OTA to Nougat Rom (361). Now when I activate my bluetooth it doesn't work. My phone was rooted and had TWRP installed before upgrading. Please help!

sry... first you need to unlock your bootloader, flash revoltion recovery ... got it?
Then you need to download firmewarefinder from the play store. find your rom and download the second file. then flash it... now you should have everthing working like it should. Used it myself on b700.
I maybe find the post from where i got the introductions
if you followed the instructions for nougat you have flashed 2 files, and everything shoulhttps://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3599285&goto=nextnewestd work. i'd suggest to try again, and reading the instructions very closely. good luck
I guess you missunderstood me. I got OTA update from Huawei. I flashed no custom roms. A few days ago I received the update for Nougat (B361 i guess) and since then my bluetooth is not working...

Thx for ur replies, but I don't want to install custom roms. Is there a possibility to completely reinstall the stock rom so that the phone is unrooted again?

I will try your method but firsr I have a question: If i restart my phone I get a message on my screen that my phone is unlocked and can't be trusted. So that means my bootloader is already unlocked and I don't have to unlock it again? So I only have to flash revolution recovery and find the file in firnware finder?
Is there a instruction how to install revolution recovery and where to find the file...?
