boot loop after engineering bootloader - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

i have verizon s7 edge. nougat. attempted to use odin to load engineering bootloader. succeeded and proceeded to reboot phone. then stuck in a boot loop. (tries to boot, vibrates, then tries again). tried to wipe cache partition and do factory reset w/o resolution. cant force power off but somehow stumbled into mode to boot into safe mode which also did not work. phone not rooted, was loading above to unlock (obviously). of note, did just update to nougat the day prior to doing this but phone working fine (although slow) after the update. any help appreciated.

ok...flashed factory rom and now working fine. still not sure what i did wrong to crash it initially. any ideas welcome.

Make sure your using the correct eng boot for nougat.
After fresh rom flash set up phone go to settings developer options and make sure oem unlock is checked.
Flash eng boot in ap slot.
Let phone reboot and start back up then you can run root.bat

Stuck at X logo

I recently just picked up a nexus 4 and i'm trying to get a custom ROM on it. I updated it to 4.3 and that was fine. Went to install custom recovery and every since it will not boot! I've reverted to factory 4.3 using fastboot, and relocked it and locked it but still will not boot. It gets stuck at the X logo. Left it for an hour and won't get past it. If i install a custom recovery, it'll boot into the custom recovery no problem, but won't install root as it can't mount the SD card. I can get to fastboot mode no problem and flash stuff in fastboot but will never boot up. I'm puzzled as to what to do. I'm going to try 4.2.2 factory image here shortly and see if i can get it to take. I forgot to enable USB debugging so i think thats why i can't get custom recoveries to work. I tried pushing a ROM using ADB push but it wouldn't get there. Maybe it did as it said it did on the computer but the recovery won't read the memory. Any ideas as to what to do
UPDATE: Ok after flashing stock 4.2.2 from fastboot it boots.
UPDATE: turns out just having USB debugging was the culprit of everything. So make sure USB debugging is enabled before starting the whole process!

Unable to boot stock firmware

Long story short - when using wifi my s7 edge started to restart several times until it got to boot loop. I tried various things, enter and exit download mode, factory reset, partition cache clear, nothing helped. I tried to flash stock firmware several times (different versions) but it didn't help. I can go to recovery and download mode, odin recognizes the device and passes the flashing, however it does not boot. Always stuck on "galaxy s7 edge" screen.
Do you guys have any idea what could I do? I was thinking about installing twrp, however will I be able to install it if the setting in developers setting "OEM unlock" was not enabled?

Hello,
You don't have to worry, your phone isn't broken, i flash roms every day so i'm very familiar with does kind of "Errors". I'm here to assist you.
So without the OEM Unlock option enabled your phone won't be able to boot to recovery neither system if you flash a custom rom, flashing the stock firmware via Odin is the only way so try does steps:
1. Download stock firmware for your model from sammobile.
2. Extract the files and place them in the correct tab.
3. Disable auto-reboot in option panel.
4. Soon after it finish flashing, long press volume down and power button until screen turns off, then quickly press volume up, home button and power button.
5. Phone should now boot to recovery from which you have to do a factory reset and wipe cache/data.
6. Restart system.
Phone should boot just fine now, it might take 5 minutes for the first boot, if you're stuck for more than 5 minutes i would kindly ask you to take a picture of your log in recovery.
If you manage to boot the phone go to developer settings and enable OEM unlock then you can flash TWRP and from TWRP a custom rom.
If you have questions and still need help, feel free to pm me for anything, i'm here to help you!
Grettings,
SwitchDeath
So I took it to the service, it was a faulty motherboard.
I have same issue with my s7 edge, but with AT&T version (G935A). I couldn't find the firmware from sammobile as previous instruction from SwitchDeath. Do I have any other option to download the firmware from other source? Nothing seem to work for me from all other forum instructions and downloads, it just stuck in "galaxy s7 edge" screen on and off and not reboot at all. Please help!

SM-T580 Softbricked, Currently on reboot loop, can't flash any stock firmware

Here's what happened:
1. flashed wrong twrp version for 8.1 oreo, used correct CF-auto root
- tablet booted to stock recovery screen a few times but i figured it was part of the process so I just rebooted
-ended up getting a failed identification verification
-i know the auto root worked because my warranty is void :silly:
2. reset my tablet from the failed verification screen
-eventually got myself to a blue erasing screen loop
-flashed twrp again and got myself to a point where booting into recovery resulted in glitchy lines
3. attempted to factory reset from reboot with adp
-not sure if it worked tbh
-also tried to reboot to recovery screen and that didn't really do anything
4. found and installed the proper version of twrp (3.2.3-4)
-now stuck in feedback loop that occasionally shows the twerp screen so i know something's right
-won't boot to recovery screen but will boot to download page
-doesn't show up in adp devices during this loop
-- have CONTINUOUSLY tried flashing firmware (I've tried 6.0, 7.0?, and 8.1) none of them have worked, sporting some variant of secure check fail (PIT, bootloader, or RADIO)
-- have tried the mod here but it fails after param.bin and i can't use it directly after auto root without rebooting because it gets stuck on setup connection
-- most likely not a hardware problem because i had this tablet for basically a day before i did this to myself
--OEM is unlocked, not that i could change it even if it wasn't
---is there anything that anyone would recommend trying before i take this to geek squad (who may not help me but i'm still going to try) or should i just cry myself to sleep over wasting $300 :crying::crying:

I can boot to download mode but i can't boot to recovery mode after flashing twrp. When I try I just get stuck in a reboot loop, so I can't try to boot to recovery from adp either.

If you can flash twrp then not booting to twrp must be pilot error.
It MUST be done immediately after flashing in odin.

'Encryption Failed, unable to start up your device' after flashing with Odin

I have a Samsung S7 Edge that kept rebooting itself randomly. I thought it might be due to a corrupt update. As time went by it started to bootloop several times before booting properly.
I managed to remove my Google account to disable FRP but I didn't manage to activate the secure startup pin before flashing.
Used Odin 3.14.4 and downloaded the BTU version of the firmware, but I later realised that the version used was XEU. Does that matter at all? Once the flash completes it auto reboots and begins bootlooping again. I have tried to clear cache partition and also factory reset via recovery menu. It again starts bootlooping many times, until it reaches the following screen that says;
Encryption failed. Unable to start up your device. The encryption process was interrupted. You need to reset your device to factory default settings. This will erase all your data. [Reset].

What else can I do here? I have not tried changing any settings in Odin, I left it at its defaults.
I am also unable to flash TWRP, as I understand I would need to unlock the bootloader beforehand and I'm not able to get it to boot.
Any luck? Its too late though

No recovery or download on SM-T500

Seems I found a way to semi brick my SM-T500. I was attempting to install the LOS 18.1 ROM just posted in the guide section. Some how I got the "can only install official" error message on my download screen after flashing TWRP. Made the mistake of flashing only the stock AP without BL or CSC and now I can't get into either recovery or download modes. Holding vol up and down and plugging in USB cable does nothing. Same with holding power button and either vol up or down. Blank screen. Can only power on and boot to system.
Did you install twrp and can you get into recovery. I had similar problem but was still able to get into download mode from power off. However to do so I had to boot into twrp and select reboot and power off... from that menu you can also boot directly to download mode... I know that doesnt halp much if you hadnt installed twrp yet... but thought I would throw that out there...

I can't boot TWRP or download. The only thing that will boot is system. Can't even get to the lock/unlock screen.
can you connect to adb shell? and try #reboot download
or #reboot twrp. I figure if you get to download you can reflash stock and start over.
Also when your trying to boot into recovery try not being plugged in. Not sure about this device but a lot of older Samsung's that I had would not let me get into recovery if I was plugged in during boot.
Locked oem mode
Locked download mode
Locked wipe factory
Locked update from sd card
Recycling item...
Need factory reset
I saw alot of issues with twrp so I tried Magick for first time ever on my SM-T500 and had a minor hiccup bc I wasn't paying attention to firmware and installed an old AP with newer firmware but ended up just reflashing the whole tablet with the same firmware as the AP that is required for Root and presto it worked! AND HEY IM DEF A NEWBIE!

Yeah I've run into the same thing, I originally missed the step to run Magisk after I flashed the patched tar and rebooted into the System and it triggered the "Prenormal KG state" problems. Finally I managed to flash stock ROM back and got to exactly where you are now.
I was able to just flash the patched Magisk AP without CSC and BL, and now it will only go to stock recovery and was able to get TWRP to work once but couldn't factory reset or wipe cache due to (which I assume was) a ton of mounting failures when it loaded.
Anyone else have suggestions to get this thing stable so I can flash LOS? I can get to Download mode.
hello, I post this because it's seems the same subject. I have to password protected (forget password) original rom tablet (non root). For me the datas are not important , I just want to remove the password or reflash with original rom. I downloaded Odin , usb driver and correct firmware. I select AP firmware with Odin, I see the connexion (COM3 green) and it's stuck to "setup connexion".
My problem is that it's impossible to enter in download mode.
When I try to shutdown the tablet, it ask me for a password.
When I press for seconds the power button , after few second I see the Samsung Logo and the tablet restarts.
I try to press volume up, volume up and volume down etc...but each combinaison...no recover, no download mode, nothing and impossible to flash . is it normal ? how to do to unsticked SetupConnetion ?
regards
bruno

This is not the same as my problem. My problem is that I flashed AP without BL and the two don't match. It isn't that things are locked but that I can't boot to anything but system. Can't boot recovery or download so I can't flash ANYTHING. Not even stock.
