please help!! How To Root Galaxy J5 Prime Android 7.0?
Magisk Boot Patch + Odin worked for me. If you encounter dm-verity verification failed:
1. Do a factory reset;
2. Don't login to samsung account or set up fingerprints;
3. Flash Magisk Boot Patch again.
boot.img (required for making Magisk patched_boot.img.tar) can be extracted from AP

I failed multiple times before I got it work.
1. Flash stock firmware using Odin,
2. Skip any logins and fingerprint (just to save my time),
3. Flash Magisk patched boot image with Odin (not a custom recovery). Here I got "signature verification failed". I tapped on "Reset".
4. Skip any logins and fingerprint (this's important),
5. Flash Magisk patched boot image again.
My G570Y is now rooted. Good luck! and I'm not a developer btw.

No. Never got that. May be your image is not official. Try to redownload your full firmware from Sammobile or simply find your boot.img on firmware.mobi.

I've never been in that situation.
Does it allow you to flash the stock firmware? If not, you are probably using the wrong Product code.

other thing that i realize, when update to 7.0 QJ2 firmware form TTT (Trinidad y Tobago) is that when i turn on wifi no network available are displayed unless airplane mode is on, then i see them all, i'm live in cuba (country code "cu") and i know this was a problem with 4.4.* and 5.0.* android on samsung devices but never imagine that would be a problem again.

Its not necessary to flash stock, simply reflashing the engboot will suffice, and does not wipe the device.
First of all you wanted to Flash SuperSu.... Did you enable Android Debugging.... Then check OEM Unlock?
If not you messed up there...
Next You need use Odin to flash CF-Root. You are now running a patched Kernel and SuperSU
Use TWRP app to install twrp for your device.
i have the same exact problem, been trying to flash stock firmware but cant get it to work. help please!!!! which firmware? can i get a link please!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, having same issue. Didn't realize you can only make backups with flashfire, not actually flash them back with the program too...
I have the original files I installed with Odin, are one of these the engineering boot file? (BL, AP, CP, CSC?)
Or are you talking about something else...? Thanks!

You flash the engboot file you used to root the device, the one you placed in AP and is around 20 mb in size (not the actual firmware) .

If your bootloader also is upgraded to A310FXXU3 then it won't be possible to downgrade to 5.1.1 through odin.
Maybe with a modified package without cm.bin, modem.bin, sboot.bin. Otherwise, make it flashable and use twrp.
With Odin you'll only be able to downgrade to the latest 6.0.1 which is also A310FXXU3.

I can confirm this method is working, I have successfully downgraded an A3 2016 from A310FXXU3BQD2 to A310FXXU2BQA3.
I used the Tar tool from this thread with all the files from the update I wanted to downgrade to, except sboot.bin, cm.bin and modem.bin. It's very important to NOT copy those files to the tool folder because otherwise your phone will be laggy and SIM unusable (if you use the old modem) or you will not be able to flash like with the original tar (if you use old sboot or cm).
So after I ran the batch file, I did a wipe data/factory reset using original recovery and then I flashed the "all files" tar the tool created using Odin in AP (only Auto Reboot and F. reset time checked) and the phone in download mode, and It worked like a charm.
With this method you can likely have any old update flashed while keeping the latest secure bootloader, cm and modem. (Notice that after the downgrade, the phone cannot find any new updates, maybe it's related to the bootloader being the latest or the fact I only downgraded to the previous update...)

Thanks for confirming. I've never tried it myself but I figured those bins are the U1/U2/U3 binary files that are protected for downgrade, so it should probably work without them
Now we know how to easily downgrade without errors.

With my sm-a310f I downgraded from Nougat to Marchmallow but could not get back to Lollipop.
I used TWRP and Odin.
I saw that there were solutions but they are not universal. Can someone point me?
Thank you

No! You can't downgrade bootloader even if you use a 4 file repair firmware.
As far as I am aware of, this is the only possible way to downgrade to 5.1.1 if you are on new bootloader/modem (tested by me - works fine, I am on the newer bootloader/modem combo) :
https://forum.xda-developers.com/samsung-a-series/general/rom-t3614602
(consider this however ONLY if you are willing to trade 5.1.1 for the warranty as you would need to flash TWRP in the process first)
New Odin version was leaked!
Odin 3.13.1
This version of Odin allows you to flash newer firmwares with compressed binaries (lz4).

Download G955FXXU1CRB7 firmware using SamFirm (Model: SM-G955F; Region: DBT; Auto; Check CRC32; Decrypt Automatically; then press "Check Update" and "Download")
Extract downloaded ZIP file
Open Odin and load corresponding package to each slot (BL, AP, CP, CSC)

Do you know if this new version of ODIN will read the OLD Firmware files as well as the new ones with the new compression? I know the OP says it will read the new files - but I didn't know if we needed to have two different versions of ODIN if we had phones running older firmware and other phones on new Oreo firmware. ??

I flashed Oreo CRB7 final build from Germany and everything is great. But notifications for viber doesnt work as supposed. When i snooze them for only 15 minutes they never appear again and even after 2 hours when i open viber app i have new messages for which i didnt get notification neither sound and stays like that. But when i restart phone everything becomes normal untill i snooze some notification again. I did clean install, clear cash twice and factory reset the phone before Oreo.
Followed the instructions from this site step by step (it was flashing with extracting .lz4 extensions). Help?

I did this with my own image at the same 720*1280 size: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j3-2016/development/bootlogo-custom-t3803707
Flash the bootloader you can find it in the firmware 4 files.
Samfirm works fine to download it => https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647
You need to check "Binary nature" to get the 4 files version.
Or you can use this file in odin in the BL case => BL_J320FNXXU0ARB1_CL12808116_QB17100580_REV00_user_low_ship.tar.md5
It's my BL, version ARB1 for the sm-j320fn extracted from the latest XEF rom.
The partition with the boot logo is inside the BL file

solved!
flashed the latest firmware which I downloaded with frija, then went through the process again but before flashing magisk_patched.tar I removed all the extra files from it as described in https://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-s5e/how-to/galaxy-tab-s5e-sm-t720-root-t3947806, now it works and is rooted.

So I tried rooting my S5e following the "system-as-root" part of the original magisk installation instructions, but odin stops short from being finished with "FAILED", and my tablet tells me: "SECURITY CHECK FAILED : modem"
How do I recover from this? Flash an unmodified firmware using odin?
Cheers

I also tried rooting following the step but am having this same problem, I tried flashing the new firmware from Frija but no luck still get stuck on the 'security checked failed : modem'
I also tried just flashing the tar file but when I boot back into the device it's not showing as rooted. am I doing everything right?
I'm a bit of a noob so any help would be great

1 you have to get the right CSC for your device e.g. XFA
Once I also downloaded a strange ROM. It had file dates (inside the zip) months older than the patches or update level it was supposed to have. In this case I waited several days and got a ROM with dates that made sense and flashed without the error.
2 ??? flash did not go well -> seems to me you are technically on stock which means no root
If you succeed to flash the Magisk patched AP file then you have to reboot to recovery to actually activate Magisk root.
