Cannot install Recovery.

Hi all,
I am not sure whether this the right forum to post my query. It's been a year a since I bought my S4 (i9500) so O thought of rooting and installing recovery on my phone. I was on stock 4.4.2 and I was able to root my phone using the CF-AUTOROOT, but after that when i am trying to flash a custom recovery using Odin it ends up in the download mode. I have disabled knox after rooting the phone and my phone status is now custom and so I cannot get any official update.Is there anything I did wrong which is forcing the download mode to overwrite the custom recovery I am tryjng to install???? Any help is highly appreciated.

Just boot into download mode. Uncheck auto-reboot in Odin and flash the recovery. That's it.

Thanks Lenny for your prompt reply, actually I did try that but after the manual boot it again goes back to the download mode instead of recovery mode....I even tried to install it through ADB shell but with no luck...I just goes to the download mode whatever I tried to do...

I was having a problem with the system trying to enforce the stock recovery every time I flashed TWRP through Odin. Turns out I got it by simply removing the battery as soon as Odin finished the job and restarted my phone. Waited for a few seconds, put battery back on and voila.
It worked for me. Do it at your own risk.

I also had the same trouble and had to untick auto-reboot, take out battery reboot back into download mode flash again. The first time I tried that it didnt work and the only way I got it to work was you Cyanogens windows installer, then went into recovery and flash the rom of choice.

What happens when you boot your phone, download terminal emulator from the market (or use adb) and type the following:
su
reboot recovery

could someone help me? I was stuck in recovery twrp, and I would need a zip file for reflesh stock recovery to reinstall the original fw

It has cwm recovery and stock recovery. Just open the .bat file and plug your phone to your pc.
It will pass cwm recovery, re-root your device, and at the end it will pass automatically the stock recovery for not to lose updates.
*No need to open by yourself command propf etc
I had problem with twrp recovery too, my phone stucked there. So i found this way

hii guys i can't install twrp on my play.....whenever i enter the command i get the error
"error: cannot load twrp-lux-2.8.7.0"
also the windroid tool says twrp flashed successfully but when i reboot into recovery it boots into stock recovery with "no command" on display

What are you typing when trying to flash?
fastboot flash recovery nameoffile.img

Not sure if you are having the same issue I did.
Are you flashing TWRP then using the reboot command to restart your phone immediately?
If so, try flashing TWRP again. Instead of rebooting, try to access the recovery menu right after flashing. This worked for me. The post I saw related to this mentioned the Moto was overwriting something when rebooting. I haven't had any issues since.

URGENT. Cant get on recovery, lost imei. Blade V580 EU

Hello i have blade v580. i tried to root it with kingroot, after that unlock bootloader with CMD adb commands. the BL unlock was successfully.
Tried to flash twrp but i think there is no twrp for this device, either cwm recovery. i wanted to flash custom rom .
There was 2 ways i tried to flash twrp, flasify, and the second way was with commands. none of them seems to be successfully. Couldnt get to twrp with the hardware way, ON button and down or up.
Tried a app reboot recovery then the device was just rebooted .
Now i lost the imei i know how to retrieve it but i need 1 thing, A custom recovery, twrp or cwm or whatever.
Also tried to cook twrp recovery from stock recovery img but this didnt help and got bootloop.
PLEASE IS URGENT HELP ME FIND A TWRP CUSTOM RECOVERY TO FLASH A CUSTOM ROM.
or if you have a link for custom rom 6+ that can be flashed on SP flash tool please.. !!
