US996 // Kernels ((No Werewolf)) - LG V20 Questions & Answers

ROM: Weta w/ magisk
Werewolf kernel (basilisk, stock) gives static screen, as others on us996 have also reported.
Are there any other kernels for us996 that are compatible with magisk?

Anyone? A kernel that isnt werewolf thats compatible with us996 + magisk?

Resurrection Remix Hangs At LG Logo

So I follow the instruction, flashed the bumped bootstack, the resurrection remix rom and recommended gapps, but no matter how many times I tried, the phone simply hangs at LG logo. Does anyone knows what the issue might be? Oh, my model is d800.
On d800 you need the loki LP bootstack, but be sure to flash back to bumped before you flash a stock based rom like cloudy

I have tried using loki lp bootstack but when I do I just get an error message when flashing the rr rom zip.
Make sure you have the 5.5.5 version. It is NOT at the bottom of the list on afh. 5.5.5 will not error

Sorry guys.on a couple roms you loose baseband so you need to flash the rogers lp modem.Yes it actually works.full lte with data working
Just curious if anyone eslse has tried my methods?Works well with Tizen rom V5 marshmallow.choose d855 in aroma.flash.then untick reboot device enorder to go back to twrp(2.8.7 by the way)wipe all catches then flash the nebula kernel then your baseband or modem then reboot. All works with no issues yet.nothing broken.Only sharing my own experience and experimenting.Flash at own risk
You are courageous and bold. I am going to wait for the official version before I try. I did have CM13 for a while but wanted the stock experience to test out the banking touch and pay thingy. I have heard and seen too much trouble with reckless experimentation. kudos to you for taking the chances and finding a solution.
I've tried this method and it works fine. I usually do it with the d851.
However, BlackSoulsxxx just put out his d852 port recently. I've been using it for 2 days now, no problems. Smoother than ever.

That's strange that you would encounter these problems. I have the same model (the D852) and I flashed a nightly of CM 13 on my phone and so far, everything is working. The only issue I've experienced is that sometimes, when a call is coming in, I don't notice it happening at all. After the call goes to voicemail, I got notified about a new voicemail message, but in my call history, I don't see the missed call. Aside from that, data, calling and all the other usual stuff seems to work fine.

First post, under the downloads section. It's hidden under the changelog. Took me a moment to find it as well.

Rooting stock ROM after Nougat 7.1.1 update

I have successfully updated my XT1601 phone from a rooted Marshmellow with SuperSU to Nougat (non-rooted). However, the guide I used for rooting states that the method doesn't work for Nougat.
Some users say that rooting with Magisk should work, but in the Magisk thread it says that some devices, like Motorola, have a bad f2fs implementation on the data partition that complicates any systemlees installation, and a custom kernel should be used. In case of Moto G4/G4 Plus, the ElementalX kernel is recommended, but this Kernel is not compatible with the G4 Play.
My device does have a data partition with f2fs filesystem but I don't know if it's a faulty one. Does the Harpia actually need a custom kernel? Maybe it doesn't and that's why ElementalX is not compatible? If it does need a custom kernel, which one works? I've checked the squid and somefeak kernels, but none of them explicitly state that the f2fs fix has been implemented.
Well, for anyone with the same doubt, Magisk worked great. It boots, it's rooted, it works. Didn't have to change the kernel after all.

Wi-Fi Calling on the H910 on AT&T

Is there some magic combination of custom ROM + Kernel where this works?
Have tried latest Alpha and Super ROMs, as well as many different versions of mk2000 kernel and the Alpha kernel included with Alpha ROM.
It worked on bone stock 10L, but hasn't worked since. I can activate it and change my 911 address but the icon never shows up and it can't actually make calls over Wi-Fi.
Currently on SuperV20 4.1 10v with mk2000 1.5.6 beta 10.
Not sure if it's a ROM issue or kernel or modem or what.

From stock Nougat to stock Oreo w/ custom kernel + root + BLunlocked

I'm currently on latest stock Nougat with BL unlocked and rooted + ElementalX kernel. I want to upgrade to stock Oreo but after a ton of reading it looks like everything can go wrong with efs and persist. Is the following process correct:
- flash [Oreo][Stock][Rom] TWRP Flashable Stock Builds.
- flash ElementalX latest version for Oreo
- Root with Magisk
Would this process keep my bootloader unlocked, with signal and safe from bricks?
Thank you for your help.
