Best rom for 3T (Android 8.0 Oreo) - OnePlus 3T Guides, News, & Discussion

Best room for 3T, what would you recommend, preferably Android 8.0 Oreo

I dunno, I use it in my bedroom, or my living room. Any room is suitable for the 3T. Doesn't affect performance at all, the mark of a great device.
All jokes aside, the Open Beta 16 is your best bet at features, support and the most stable.

I'll go with audax ROM and Blu spark kernel.

I live in Lunux room with latest Ceasium carpet, feels nice and smooth.

OB 16 + blu_spark kernel is a good combination, that's the one I'm running right now.

HA HA HA!
Do you use anything to tweak the kernel settings? The main reason I stick with Boeffla's kernels is his app.. Love the settings app he has but it won't work unless his kernel is installed.

Omni.

Validus works great. No problems on my end.

I'm on Lunux Rom and flashing it doesn't wipe anything. Does Validus or OMNI wipes internal storage?

Suggest A Rom for me.

I want a custom rom (Dual Sim)
-LED Notification
-Can disable sim 1 or sim 2
-Active Display
-Twice Camera
-Good Performance and batt life.
DUv10. 6 (M) rom have everything you want, am operating it right now and the best thing is they are developing DUv11 (N) and what I see there in DU community DUv11 is going to be one of beast rom ever.
So it's good for you to be familiar with DU.
Or
Resurrection Remix by vatsal what I learn about vatsal is he is one the beast developer here.
He believes in developing few rom with lot of features with good performance.
So go with it.
Or
Use stock rom + xposed + greenify
But in Stock you need to flash Kernal like squid or coffee Kernal for led notification.
( I never flash custom Kernal in Stock rom so I don't know whether it's good to flash custom Kernal in Stock rom or not)

You are right, cm13 is the most stable custom rom till now.
You can install xposed and its modules without troubles.
You can install moto g4 camera and enjoy its benefits.
You will not find problems with games or apps.
Use coffee-kernel to get much performance with less temperature.
OK. Thank you everybody.
Can CM13 disable and enable sim like stock ROM?
Now. I have a problem with stock camera.
It can take photo but can't change setting in camera (Quality , Save Location) .
When I change it camera app will not respond.

If you're looking for a 7.1 ROM, try out dirty unicorns. They are not on XDA, but they have a Google+ page and a website with downloads for Clark. It is one of the most stable ROMS right know for this device. If you wanna stay on marshmallow I'm pretty sure Tru pure is still a great ROM, and you probably wouldn't wanna change.
I've gone back to stock with this device as every custom rom that I have tried has had some issue or another, making them unstable. The Brazilian stock nougat TWRP backup that is available on this forum is working surprisingly well on my device, an XT1572 being used in the UK.

None of the ROM'S do gestures as well as the stock gestures work, such as waving hand to wake the phone..etc..but they still work fairly well. Dirty unicorns also has the other moto gestures such as flip the phone to silence among others.
+1 for dirty unicorns. I'm running on their latest official release and its pretty good.
The latest build of stock 6.0.1 + Root + Xposed.
Stock... pure, untouched stock is the best for stability and speed, no doubt about it.
If you mean what CUSTOM rom is best, BrokenOS for MM or Dirty Unicorns for Nougat... Both are good, but neither one is as stable as stock.

This is a lot more stable then the majority of 8.0.0 ROMs out right now for the OP3/T, with the exception being Validus I think. Do you know how to swap back button with recent apps? I don't natively use my phone the way the ROM has it set by default, but I am sure I can get used to it. Couldn't find anything in settings.

For Validus I use the official GZOSP GAPPS they link in the thread which work flawlessly. For anything else I use ARM64 8.0 Pico from OpenGAPPs
The only problem I currently have with Validus is the battery drain. Once Paranoid Android or Dirty Unicorns comes out with Android 8.0 I will probably use those ROMs.

Hi all,
Have been using the 1+5 since launch day, bought this beast at midnight on launch day and since then it's just amazed me....but I've been stuck picking a ROM due to the encryption decryption worry, I'm currently decrypted on xXx
What ROM are you using and why?
Not looking for the best, just for the points of why one over another.
Cheers.

Different ROMs are build above different sources -- OOS, AOSP, LineageOS... -- and contain various modifications -- theming options, kernel tweaking, features ported from other devices, ability to streamline the system experience, stellar stability or release-early-release-often, etc. Every ROM is different, though at some point they offer more of less similar features -- eck, it's all Android at the core! Still, they represent what their devs feel is important for a joyful experience. Read the first post of a topic, you should have a general idea of what you get.

Thanks, maybe I didn't explain it enough, what I meant was what do you use and prefer and why?
What features sell you the ROM of your choice over others.
I think you can see by the amount of phones I've had that I've seen quite a few.
What are you using at the moment and why?
Benefit over OOS?
I've always been in love with Codename Phoenix, and I still am. I flashed everything there is out there, and every kernel. My conclusion: either OOS, or Phoenix. All the others either have some bugs or annoying problems. I choose Phoenix over OOS because it is just as smooth if not even smoother & faster while providing much more features than OOS. Also, 2 stable builds a month. That's much faster updates than OOS.

The rom also has OOS cam working. The ROM itself is closed source, but it's stellar, so I am sure there's a reason behind him making it closed source. I bet he is some ex developer of some other mainstream rom who really knows his stuff.

I went with AICP, firmware 5.1 at this point is needed with it. Modded Gcam working, modded oneplus cam also working. Alot of features, uses LOS and others for base. if your a flashaholic like myself they have nightlies close to every night even. If you want a custom kernel most of the LOS compatble ones (EX, Flash, Franco) work. Battery life is great, and I like the feature set. Eneough tweaking I dont need substratum to have the look I want. Using Magisk 14.4 beta for root. solid eneough to be a daily driver for sure. Bluetooth works perfect for me as well, no wifi issues.
Still using Pure Fusion 7.1.2, as it's aosp-based yet has oos camera fully working(with portrait and slow-mo).

Not a worry for me that, I've got a Lumie that gets brighter in the morning and tweets at me, wakes me up better than a normal alarm.
How's theming on pure fusion? Been having some issues with my preferred theme lately, in fact so many themes these days don't work.
Google just wants to be lighter and lighter, how they haven't got a dark side I'll never know.
Besides robbing everyone's data
Just like OP, i'm running xXx oos based rom since the beginning, and i'm pretty happy with it.
I'm interested in trying some custom roms, but i've read almost everywhere that custom roms can't get close to camera quality of OOS, is this still true ?
I don't mind flashing any magisk camera mod module if that could help :good:

Is "which ROM you prefer and why" a stupid question?

Well, I'll ask it anyway .
I've only ever used Cyanogenmod and Lineage, but now there is no stable and good release for J5 (2016). Obviously, stock has so much bloat and is super slow, all I want is fast, functioning and pretty phone. Which is the ROM of choice for you and why?

Am pretty much 50/50 between TW and aosp.TW can easily be debloated mainly stock and just add quasar 1.6 fix and runs fast same as kernel that's in space os and I recommend that one too.Am currently on Havoc which is great looking and saves you a good 1.5gb TWRP backup so yes the aosp are already debloated. All the oreo roms are fast in my opinion.Havoc is my favourite followed by RR 6.0.1 and the older lineage builds are great too.

Not as smooth as aosp ROMs tho. TW is a really heavy skin over android and is known to be slow and stuttery even on the best of devices.
But yes you are right it is the smoothest of the TW ROMs due to the heavy debloat. Especially the SEP 8.5 LITE.
For me though I stick with aosp ROMs because they are a lot faster, a lot more customisable and also better on battery life.
But everyone has different tastes and what suits me and you might not suit someone else.
All ROMs are amazing and we need to give more thanks and donations to the devs

I'm using bootleggers on j500f and its been better than good.
But I don't know how it performs on j500h because I don't own that device. I just know that volte doesn't work if you need it on aosp ROMs

Don't you face battery problems in Havoc? Doesn't it drain to fast?
But non of the aosp roms have bluetooth audio working right?

No battery problems for me with Havoc. It can be a bit slow to charge sometimes but not big battery drain.Yes I think bluetooth audio might be problem on some aosp roms if you use bluetooth but I use wired headset and bluetooth works fine in all aosp roms I have tried for file transfers and connecting to externel devices like gamepad which I use.
