Hi Everyone,
Everytime I charge my phone, a few seconds after I take the charger out and try to use the phone, it gets stuck and so I have to do a soft reset. This means I lose any txts that I received will it was charging.
Really need to know why this happens and how to solve this problem. Can anyone help?!
Many Thanks,
L
this is called the white screen of death. WSOD... it's often encountered by me too.. doing the ActiveSync hack would kinda help you. you can google for it.

welcome to the xda lameduck
do you have any overclocking software installed?
I don't have any over clocking software installed. It only happens after charging the phone and when i go to open my messages.
Any ideas?
Many Thanks.
Do you let the phone asleep by itself or do you manually turn off before and aftwr charging?
If you let it go to sleep by itself there is a high chance of a hang.
Have you done the standard anti hang tricks eg ref stopping active sync??
Mike
I let the phone sleep by itself.
I have not done these anti hang tricks. Please could you direct me to the instructions for how to do them.
Many Thanks.

Well first, not so much a trick just something to do!
Don't let it go to sleep by itself when connected either to PC or charger. Switch off manually.
As for other anti-hang techniques - this page has a few of them:

Because My phone's working fine..?
Hmmm... I think I just found a way to really screw up your phone... let's see what you think of my theory:
1. Put your phone into Airplane mode. This will completly turn off all the radios in the phone.
2. Go into settings and set an unlock pattern.
3. Put your phone into standby mode and turn it back on.
4. If you use up all of your tries at the unlocḱ screen you will have to enter your login details to unlock it. BUT THE PHONE IS STILL IN AIRPLANE MODE. Hence, the phone will not be able to connect to Googles servers for verification. And the worst thing is that not even a shut down of the phone will remove the airplane mode. Not even a removal of the battery.
THe only way to get out of this is to do a hardware reset of the phone.
What do you this of this?

I guess this is the only solution, I did a hardreset.
but this is a very very dangerous bug in the operating system.

at any time you can click and hold the reject call/power off button and it will bring you a list of options one of them is turning off airplane mode
Go on your computer and reset your Gmail password. then try again. It should do the trick.

How so? If you have synched everything with google then everything comes straight back..
Damn annoying, but hardly dangerous!
I've got a weird error... When I turn airplane mode off, the phone doesn't ask for a pin and it shows the "No sim card" icon. I can't make calls and it says that everything having to do with the network is unknown. Still there are 2-4 fields in the network strenght icon. I have to reboot without airplane mode on to make calls. For me, a guy who uses the airplanemode a lot, this is a very serious problem
Btw.phone is stock and I have already tested the good old "reinsert battery-trick" :/

Something weird happened...I was unlocking the screen, but only the buttons lightened up.The battery had been really low before that...So I just threw the battery out and back in, connected the charger and booted the phone. Later I noticed that the airplane mode was working again I dunno wth happened but atleast the problem is solved

Erm.... Just a thought.....excuse me for been so way out there with this but keep with me here.....
How about setting your alarm on your phone for 2 minutes from now.... then, wait for it.... switch your phone off and see what happens in 2 minutes?
lol, I don't own one yet. I'm still on the fence about buying one or maybe waiting to see what the mysterious XFON will be like if it ever comes out.

I've done that when my phone was in ICS 4.0.3 and even now on 4.0.4 and it doesn't work. I even did it again, as in just now and set it for 2 minutes but 5 minutes has passed and the phone doesn't alarm on. Yes, I'm still in ICS because I'm still waiting for the official push to JB in my country.
Well I tried on I9500 and it does not work
Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of turning the phone off?
If you need it to be off, instead,,turn off the radio (airplane mode).
Hi guys, what a nightmare this is! im on CarHD V2.1/Android 4.4.2 & when ever i plug my charger in on a night the bloody phone switches back on, now ive looked into this and there is two apps you can DL to see what is causing the issue they are "wakelock detector & betterbatterystats" they have now shown me that its an app or some software in my phone called "Audiomix" thats causing this does anyone know what it is and how to disable it or a go around please?
cheers..
What do you mean it turns on? The screen turns on or the phone turns on ?
If it's your phone that turns on then it's not an app. It's the kernel.

Hi Lenny yes the phone turns on fully and its really annoying cause ive got mates all over the world who are FB messaging me or sending me text at all hours so i need the phone to be off when i turn it off, many thanks
It is your current kernel that does not support offline charging. Change kernel.
