[Q] Cannot Get to Fastboot after Unlocking Bootloader - ZTE Axon 7 Questions & Answers

So I unlocked my bootloader a while ago, and I have the screen telling me to lock the bootloader. I would lock the bootloader, but when I try to get to the bootloader to do fastboot and oem lock, it just goes back to the screen that tells me to lock the bootloader. Everything works fine, but with an unlocked bootloader, I can't use Netflix as my device is uncertified now. Is there a twrp zip that will help me get my bootloader back to normal? I tried using edl and twrp to try and get it back, but have yet to find a file that works.

Lots of threads on this already.

Help relocking RAZR M bootloader

First, let me say this because i've used xda for a while and i know im going to get these responses:
I know this wont reinstate my warranty...
Why? Because I want to. I understand you think it's useless but it's not your phone...
I have tried "fastboot oem lock" and it doesnt work...
I've searched Motorola's site, got on a chat with them which was useless, and searched xda...
So I booted into AP fastboot and connected to my computer. Opened CMD and typed "fastboot oem lock begin"
That seemed to start the process so then ran RSD lite (as admin) and flashed a signed xml of 4.1.2
Yes, I edited the XML first and removed the 2 lines with "getvar" in them
RSD finished and the phone rebooted (which was great because before it was hung up on the unlocked bootloader warning)
Unfortunately after turning the phone off and then back on, the unlocked bootloader warning screen still came up.
And after booting back into AP fastboot it still said UNLOCKED.
did i miss a step?
I need to relock the phone. if anyone has useful information it would be extremely helpful. in the event it just cant be done thats fine. but i feel like it can, because after fastboot oem lock begin the command prompted told me that now i can flashed the signed images.
well crap. i may have just answered my own question. do i have to flash manually through CMD (ie fastboot flash system system.img) AND THEN run fastboot oem lock at the bottom? i'll try it tomorrow.
before i started this the phone was stuck on the bootloader warning screen so if anyone is stuck at that point this will allow you to boot up your phone. and if my results are typical, it did not relock the bootloader (obviously). hope I helped someone. hope someone can help me. thanks.
most likely not feasible
unlocking razr m involves phisically blowing a q-fuse, so you can't go back to locked
even if you could, it would be traced forever that you've unlocked the BL
You can relock the boot loader on the Dev edition, but once unlocked you can never go back to original status 0 of the boot loader and the boot logo will always display the warning even if you relock the boot loader. You have to flash that partition with another logo image to avoid that.
You also need to wipe the user data partition in fastboot first for the fastboot oem lock begin command to complete successfully.
Once that is done, when it reboots you will see that in fastboot it will display status 2 locked instead of status 3 unlocked.
This is a physical change that happens to the hardware when you unlock the boot loader an efuse on the board is blown and that memory location is permanently programmed. Its not even a question of them knowing, even though they do of course, the device itself is altered.

Trying to relock bootloader of One Plus 5 need help!

Hi,
I've tried all the following steps in the video and I got the error "flashing lock is not allowed". I've already flashed stock rom and recovery and wiped the phone so it's as stock as it gets yet I still get the same error when I enter "fastboot oem lock". Please help ASAP!!!! I'm trying to update to Android 8.0 but the update keeps failing because my bootloader is unlocked
Thanks in advanced.

Go to developer settings.. check the oem unlock option. If it's off, bootloader won't relock. You need to turn it on. If it's greyed out & can't be turned on, then you need to root your firmware or flash custom rom & turn it on.
When you have this problem, only magisk will help you turn on allow bootloader unlocked when it's grayed out.
So, you have to flash magisk, turn on allow bootloader to be unlocked in devlopper settings, then flash a clean OOS, make sure there's no modification like custom recovery or root, then relock your bootloader.
Good luck!
use command "fastboot flashing lock" instead of "fastboot oem lock", this will lock your bootloader
hope this tutorial will help you....!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CQYCSdDUdAU
I had the same problem and solved using magistik, reenable unlock volta loader and After relock.

Trying to re-lock the bootloader

I have a A2017U that I just downgraded to B35 using this guide: https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-axon-7-universal-unbrick-t3814413
I want to lock the bootloader to stop the annoying boot warning but can't get into fastboot when using AXON7TOOLKIT.
I tried flashing A2017U_FASTBOOT_UNLOCK_EDL (downloaded from https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/complete-guide-to-unlocking-installing-t3561128) through miFlash but I still can't get into the bootloader.
What can I do?
EDIT: Thanks everyone! I used the toolkit to unlock the bootloader again, then locked it. For some reason I couldn't access the bootloader even though i got the bootloader ulocked warning.

You only want to lock it because of the boot warning? There are flashables to get rid of that... I dom't know which exact files there are for stock B35 or Oreo but there are some going around.
hell you could even go custom and use the splash bootstack if you wanted.
If you want to lock anyways, you have to get an A2017U B19 package and flash it via EDL Tool (or MiFlash). Right after that you'll have fastboot. enable oem unlocking then enter fastboot and issue fastboot oem lock and you're done. But it's way too overkill if you want to just get rid of the 5 sec screen

you need to flash original stock rom for your device trough edl. (rom your device came from factory, marshmallow)
then boot into system, unlock developer options.Allow oem unlock and turn on usb debugging. Now connect phone to laptop and check the dialogue on your phone that ask for usb debug.Unplug phone.
When you did this you want to flash TWRP trough EDL.
Now boot in TWRP and flash UnlockbootloaderPackage from DrakenFX.
Reboot system.
Now turn off your device and boot into fastboot, connect your phone with laptop and open ADB terminal on your laptop or use Axon7toolkit.
In terminal enter fastboot oem lock,or in axon7toolkit choose lock bootloader.
Your bootloader is now locked.
PS: you dont need locked bootloader to recieve ota's,and make sure you are on the firmware your device came shipped with!!
You need a locked bootloader to get rid of the warning message ( dont flash any mod package that claims it delete the warning page)

accidentally locked bootloader

Just resently restored my phone through miflash, because i didnt format data when flashing a rom. Phone works fine now. I accidentally locked the bootloader because i didnt uncheck the relock box. But want to reunlock bootloader, can i do that with the mi unlock tool without problems?
In MI Unlock it is stated and given tutorial if you need to get to Fastboot mode you can unlock it from there but you will lose Find My Device feature. If you don't need to access the Fastboot at the moment you may leave the phone locked and so secured. The choice is up to you.

Bootloader Unlock

Hello all! I have been trying to unlock my bootloader on my SGP311. I have searched the threads, followed the instructions, and still have problems. i initially looked at my service menu to determine if it is unlockable and it said yes. I then went through the steps to unlock it and it kept saying failed. Then, it finally worked, and my tablet rebooted. i got dual recovery loaded and then proceeded to wipe and install lineageOS from recovery. recovery kept failing to install the new rom. i then had to reflash a stock rom because the tablet wouldnt even boot into recovery again. now my service menu simply says rooting status: unknown and says nothing about the bootloader. What the heck happened?

You can't install LOS Rom from the dual recovery (XZDR). By flashing stock ROM, you bootloader may be locked again.
Check this guide to unlock it, and install LOS.
It simply will not let me unlock the bootloader anymore. And I can't seem to find a firmware that I can flash to get me to the appropriate version
so far, part of the problem is flashtool in androxyde still using the command fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xkey. windows 10 denies this command every time and should be fastboot oem unlock 0xkey. But even doing so manually through the cmd prompt, it still will not let me unlock the bootloader. does anyone have a ftf file that has an unlockable bootloader? seems mine locked up completely when i reflashed the rom

bootloader is in device, not in firmware, so no such firmware exist you ask for.
