I recently upgraded to WM6 using "vp3G's WM6 v3.62 AT&T ROM" and installed radio 1.54.07.00. The question that I have is about detecting and connecting to unsecured (or secured for that matter) wireless networks. Before upgrading this unit, I would get a 'new network detected' window when I was in range of a wi-fi hotspot and have the option of connecting. After the upgrade I don't have that feature. Is that something that I am able to toggle on and off, or is this feature not available after the upgrades?
Also before the upgrade I think I was able to select my Home wireless network as the default connection, instead of using Edge (3G isn't available yet in my area). I can't seem to be able to do that, or it's just me being ignorant about this software.
And lastly, is there a way to disable Egde when I have a connection a Wi-Fi hotspot (such as when I am home)
I've done a lot of searching but haven't located an answer to these questions, so please excuse my ignorance. I've had this device for about 2 weeks and like everything else, I like hacking around with hardware/software. I'm just new to the PPC world...
Thanks,

The cellular data connection is automatically disabled once you turn on the wifi and connect to a network.
so i was reading some hacks and tricks to do when u first purchase your hd2 with WM still installed there is a registry edit trick to enable the wireless N support for the HD2's wireless..is there a way to enable this on an android build? or is it already enabled by default, reason i'm asking is cuz my router transmits wireless N and i hear Wireless N has better range and all that good stuff than the wireless B or G...anyways if anyone knows more about this let me know..thanks!!
Read wirless N support HERE for HD2
Its Enabled on my build
How can i check if its enabled? is it under system/wifi?
I had the same question, then connected my phone via wi-fi to my belkin wireless N router. I was getting around 80mb connection. This proved N was working.
Best way to check is just check your wireless strength in the wireless settings once you're connected.
Ok i'll try that and see what happens, thanks for the reply.
Hey Guys,
I know already about some threads about that, however, I'm searching for a possibility to be able to connect to a Ad-Hoc network.
I'm using a Google Nexus 4 with the current Android version (KitKat 4.4.2). Even though i can't see the Ad-Hoc network which i createt. (Laptop can see it)
I created the Ad-Hoc network with my jailbroke iPad (so please don't post the solutions with windows) I searched a few days now but don't know what is actually working.
- wpa_supplicant for nexus 4?
- any ROM supporting it? (with Kernel?)
- any App/Mod activating it?
Would be nice if somebody could say something about it.
Greetings.
Sorry this may be noob question but how do I change wifi channel of Wifi Hotspot app. In my old note it was there under show advanced settings but in xperia there is no such options. It currently transmits on channel 1 and I would like to change it.
thanks

Hi there,
I am able to do screen mirroring with a TV miracast and/or an android tv box when I share pictures or videos stored on my smartphone but I am not able for instance to do it with apps like Youtube or Amazon prime video that need network. At least I’m not with an official Samsung ROM or with rom LineageOS 13.
Being connected to network using only Wi-fi: for what I could test when tried to share with rom ‘LineageOS 13’, as the device uses ‘Wi-Fi direct’ feature, as the rom official, this option disables the Wi-Fi network connection and for that reason the sharing cannot happen, unless I had another option to be connected to network (3G/4G network), option that I want to avoid.
As you may know, other devices have this option available using only Wi-fi: I mean, doing screen mirroring with Youtube or Amazon prime video apps.
Do you know if this feature is something related with hardware or can be managed by software, for instance with another Rom version?
Please let me know if the question is not clear.
Thanks.
Anyone did the same question?
Sorry man Miracast/DLNA is a hardware feature so you cannot screen mirror.
