Hi, so first of all I'm a total noob about those things so sorry in advance if I'm asking something stupid. I recently purchased the HTC u play and so far I'm happy with it , but the thing is on my old phone I used to spoof Pokemon go ( please don't judge I'm a poor college student that can't afford to pay for mobile data and don't have a lot of free time to play outside ) but when I brought this phone it apparently had android security patch level July 1 2017 and apparently I can't spoof now. So for two days I searched for a solution and found that I have to root my phone or flash twrp. But since I don't know what I'm doing I decided to just flash the twrp with no root (apparently the root can damage my phone, and I just brought it, I'm afraid, ) So the thing is I'm completely confused how to go about it. From my understanding I have to unlock the bootloader first and then flash the twrp and move the fake GPS to system app and the gps would work. I really would appreciate it if someone helped me with a quide or something (since I haven't found one that's detailed) I realized that's something that takes time to write so I'm sorry if I'm troubling you and would be really thankful if someone helped me (sorry about the bad English, it's not my first language)

I'm sure this has been covered, must search harder!! LOL
Anyhow
I flashed this Rom on to my uk xoom. Doesn't matter that it's for the US one , well I've not seen any ill effects It also turns your device into a google experience device so updates come direct from google. You're a bit late to the party on that one however as they've dropped support in 4.2.1
Bootloader is unlockable through fastboot oem unlock ( this will wipe your data ), no hacking required.
That should give you something to start wifi!
English is not my native language.. Sorry for my bad writting..
I have a problem upgrading my edge plus from Lollypop to Marshmallow. It happens that after upgrading via odin and going with the firmware that supposedly belongs to me (G928GUBS2BPF3_G928GUUB2BPE4_G928GUBU2BPE4_HOME.tar.md5) succesfully, the phone starts saying that the sim is invalid, and i have no possibility of having any signal. If you need more information ask please! For me, an user (Noobuser) that doesnt know anything about flashing, its really hard to know where my trouble is and give you the right information.. (I can use the phone normally without the chip.. but that isnt it function)
Please if someone can help, I would really appreciate, Its getting me mad, Its a very expensive phone in my country (Argentina)

i think that you need to flash the modem for your phone.Happened to me too.
hi all,
i hope you dont mind me posting, ( this is my first post on here ) i recently rooted my phone for the first time a few months ago, but i havent really done much with it in that state.
But anyway the other day there was a new update released and i wanted to install it, however it wouldnt let me , and i keep going to the twrp screen, but i am unable to find the zip file that gets download an so i am unable to update. ( if its even ppossible to do it like that )
im not really sure what i should do . also stupidly i used superSU to unroot and now again im unsure if i am able to go back to stock or what. the phone is working as normal but i kind of feel a bit in limbo with it. and i want to make sure the phone is a bit more secure then in its current state.
please can one of you kind folks help me or provide me with some advice ..
Your help would be most greatfully received .
thank you for your time .

Hi, i have a problem and i need a little help!
My sister gave me this Huawei p9 lite VNS-L21C02B346.
From what i can understand the code means that this model is for Greece (c02 is for Vodafone Europe). I think that's ok because when it turns on i can see a Vodafone logo!!
So i am in B346 version, and with a little search i did i see some b393 versions for example but i see that this versions is for Europe (c432).
So i would like to know if i can install this version in my phone. I try to download these versions from 2 different sites and make a dload folder in my sd card with UPDATE.APP file in it and try to update and from dialer and from reboot with holding volume up and down key. But with these two methods when the update starts it fails in 5% and the only choice is to reboot the phone......
I am doing something wrong or is something else i am missing ....
Thanks a lot

Hello,
you've been much lucky you haven't bricked your device this way...
I suggest you to keep phone as is because rebrand needs some complicated procedures.
In any case i can tell you how to proceed, here you are...
1 - you need to unlock bootloader. ( can use DC-UNLOCKER to grab your code )
2 - flash a custom recovery for android 7. ( EliteTWRP 3.1.1-1 shoul do the work )
3 - Find and download L21C432oeminfo for dual sim + VNS-L21C432B504 FULL OTA MF ( three (3) files ) ( you can use Firmware Finder ).
4 - Use REBRAND following THIS GUIDE.
5 - Don't forget to thank developers who created those guides.
6- Enjoy.
Best regards
P.S.: Make all opportune backups because some of those procedures will factory reset your device. :fingers-crossed:
P.S.2: If something goes wrong do not point your finger at me, you do at your own risk...
Thanks for the answer first of all!
No in any way i am never going to point you for anything! I know the risks, my old phone i have been really hard with it by changing roms every week!!! Never broke!!
this is a new phone and i don't know it yet!
Well the most important reason i would like to update is for security reasons (newer version), i don't really have a problem with the phone as it is.... (if you exclude the sickness for changing roms and play with phone!!!) but i think Vodafone in Greece will never give an other update for that phone.
So to get it right, for any rom change (stock or custom) we have to unlock bootloader is that right?
Thanks again for your time

Hey greecian friend, yes it's right, and rebrand will help keep security updates.
You should have not problem doing the work, only pay attention when flash oeminfo file.
Feel free to ask.
See you
P.S.: You wrote you wanted to install B393... well it is for single sim model. ( if i'm not wrong you are dual sim B346;
firmware that ends with 'even' numbers = dual sim; ends with 'odd' numbers = single sim )
Well thanks again!
For start i think i have a problem for start! If i understand right from all i have read, huawei stop giving codes for unlock the bootloader, so first step problem i think! And i didn't understand if it is safe (works 100%) to get a code from HCU Software and pay!)
I saw you have aosp 8.1, everything working in this ROM?

Worst thing may happen is throw away 4 €, no one can assure you 100% will work.
I know you can use that money for better personal stuff, choise remains yours.
Till a couple of months this method worked, read THIS thread, member ba_baracuss done a rebrand
like you starting from C02 vodafone firmware to C432 EU unbranded one.
Read AOSP 8.1 thread too, atleast last 10 posts, you'll find a member that came from Greece just like you.
See you man
P.S.: Oreo rom have some little bugs, but with some twicks became usable for daily driver.
If I'm posting in the wrong section, please let me know, or move my post for me...
I'm trying to find an ADB enable firmware for boot loader version 5, kernal version 3, and system version 4. Or, at least, I think that's what I'm looking for. I know that's the boot loader I'm looking for though. Everything I find is for lower versions.
I have tried searching all through the forums, and google. Either I'm not wording things right, or I actually don't know what I'm looking for.
Right now I have the combination firmware installed.
Aside from the above;
I'm trying to remove my google account from my device because I forgot the password, and I only had the email logged in on the device. I know, I'm stupid for not removing it first before trying to flash anything else, but, alas...
Is there anyway to remove my google account from my device from the combination firmware? Boot loader is not unlocked...so probably a huge issue there. I've found quite a few resources that detail how to do this, but they all have older firmware versions for the "ADB enabled" firmware downloads.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Heck, I'm an IT guy, I'm willing to learn something and really get into the internals and tear this thing apart, even if it's in some buggy setup that could get me closer to goal. ( I know that makes it even worse that I didn't think to remove my account though, so please go easy on me..)
Dude you have to ask in "question/answer" section of this forum to find any help that could solve your problem.
Have a good day
