I wonder if anyone could port the note 3 lollipop rom onto the note 4,the note 3 looks to have all the features of the note 4 now and a lot more besides...all the stuff left off the note 4 that was on the note 3 would be there such as reader mode, page buddy, all the smart scroll stuff and the air view features, nicer music player and lots of other small touches such as animated video thumbnails ect...I like the body of the note 4 but the features of the the 4 are seriously lacking compared to the lollipop version of the note 3....
What's the use of porting a rom when it releases official within one month?
The useless request of the day...
Because it's a different rom the same features aren't on the note 4 lollipop there's more on the note 3 rom.

Why is it useless?if the note 3 lollipop has all the note 4 features and much more wouldn't it be better to have the better rom ?

Because many of the Note3 features were not useful for a large number of users, and second because that would make the ROM large and laggy. For the first time, Samsung made a lighter ROM with the Note4 that actually is quite snappy. I for one don't miss the Note3 ROMs at all. Not to mention that the porting part is not very easy to do (different platforms) and is worthless when Lollipop will come in January for Note4 anyway.
I've never had much lag with my note 3 and a phone like the note 4 should easily be able to handle the features they kept off but shouldn't people who actually want these features be given the option to have them and there is quite a few people who want them back plus if you don't don't want them nobody would be forcing you to install the rom anyway...
Who would be stupid enough to waste their time porting this to the note 4 when the note 4 version is due soon....

The note 4 version has less features than the note 3 lollipop version that's why...
Well, there's a time you should wait someone to do what you want, and there's time you must learn to do what you want.
This is the later, if no one gonna port note 3 rom for you, I think you should start to learn how to do it yourself. There are many tutorials in this site.
If you don't mind waiting til not known time, then just wait.
Just my opinion though.

Air view with fingers not just pen, quick glance, group play,Web page magnifier,headphone/page buddy, reader mode, voice controls of the music player and alarm, photo note, air gesture for music player,Animated video thumb nails plus more...if the note 3 and the s3 lollipop roms have these surely the note 4 should have it and the lag isn't an issue as the note 3 and s5 run lag free on lollipop I thought note 4 was an upgrade but not that much by the looks of things...
hey guys, i have a question, i am planning to get a new phone, the only real choices are the galaxy S6 and NOTE 4, i have a galaxy S4 right now, i like the S6 a lot, but i prefer something with a bigger screen and battery, the NOTE 4 on the other hand is cool too, but, it has the old TW, which i am already bored of, so the question is, will the NOTE 4 get the refreshed TW from the S6 soon or is it only after the NOTE 5 is released?? and what do you recommend?? THANKS
I think Note 4 will get Note 5 tw probably next year. Both phones fall in different category. You have to set your own priorities.Processor & gpu wise S6.Screen,Battery & S pen for Note 4

the thing is, because i am using an S4 right now the S6 doesnt feel much of an upgrade in terms of screen size, the NOTE 4 on the other hand feels really something special with that big screen....its a really tough one...in terms of performance the S6 has the edge but still its not that of a difference...basically the only reason to get the S6 is the new software....

Hi, I am glad you are looking into buying a new Samsung device! I think you should purchase the Galaxy S6. I own both devices, however the Galaxy S6 is simply just better. Even with a smaller battery pack, I was able to squeeze out 3-4 hrs more compared to the Galaxy Note 4. I used it to play some games, browse the web, and basic call functions. The S6 runs way faster compared to the Note 4 (device restart time, application launch time and application switching time). One last thing, S6 runs noticeably cooler than the Note 4 as well.
To answer your question, Samsung flagship devices will receive one TW version newer than the one that was released when the device was announced.

i do prefer bigger screen, but at the same time the S6 is faster in the day to day tasks, almost no lag, the problem with samsung phones is the updates, the NOTE 4 will get the S6 new ui next year, and lollipop for the NOTE 4 is not staple enough from what i heard, so its better to have something already optimized with lollipop unlike the NOTE 4....so if i get the NOTE 4 i will be stuck with KK for a while...and again its ui is not as fast/smooth as the S6....i have to make a sacrifice...

yes you can't have everything, but I guess you already know what you want to get... just enjoy it, and I know you want to upgrade after a few months when Note 5 or S7 arrives. Just like myself, look at my signature... I only had my S4 a few months back, and I bought a Note 3, then now a Note 4

the thing is i always use the phone for at least 18 months...so if i get an S6 or NOTE 4 there will be no going back for me....but from what i know you can use the device for two weeks then return it and get something else...so i am planning to get the S6 first...then in two weeks period i can change it to NOTE 4 if i feel that the screen is small....obviously the NOTE 5 will have the best of both worlds...but its coming only after 6-7 months...and thats a long time

I always die a little bit inside when I hear people moaning about performance. S6 is faster, yeah theoretically it is.. but practically it isn't. The software on the S6 is optimized better than the Note 4 lollipop update(Its just ****). And another thing is, multitasking works way better on a bigger screen than the S6. But its your choice. I think you're choosing wrong if you're going to judge on software.

the optimizations are the reason the S6 is faster...thats the trouble with samsung...once the phone is released they do not optimize the software for it...my S4 with lollipop is ****...lags..hangs...thats the trouble...the NOTE 4 will have the same issue...about the multitasking...i dont care that much...the only plus with the note 4 screen is the size...easier to read and better for watching movies....
No lag here on the Note 4

I was interested in the S6 but when I found out no microSD .... it was out of the picture.
I got the Note 4 on 4.4.4 and I have yet to see any lag .... if you think the Note 4 lags you must be very picky indeed.

believe me i am not the one that discovered the word "lag", many people said it lags, lets ignore the lag thing, i wanna ask you, do you prefer to have the latest and greatest UI or stick with the old one? the hall thing is, i have a galaxy S4 right now, and i have a rom that ported from the NOTE 4, so if i get the NOTE 4 i wont have the feeling of something new in terms of UI....the new TW on the S6 looks better than every other TW...its more refind, smooth animations...if you dont call it lag then you call it delay instead...its the same thing
Have u played with the S'Pen ? Did u like it? or was it just a novelty thing? If u really enjoyed using it, i think u should get the Note 4. the S6 screen is 5" approx. The Note4 is not far from 6". And true, the S6 is a beast to run, but it has to cuz its got the latest n greatest in it, tho u'll be paying a premium for it. Unlike the Note4, its a beast still, just a Yr behind the S6. Why not get the cheaper Note4, with its huge screen, then wait for the Note5? By then it will be King Phablet and be running true 64bit Lollipop optimized to the maxxx hehe. Naw, either is good

get a 910u taiwan version. least problematic.
Ok if you are going to buy Note 4 don't update to Lollipop now, it is full with bugs and Samsung even doesn't care about solving Note 4 issues.

I have the International Unlocked N910C Exynos model, rooted, running Simplite Rom which is the lightest Rom available, plus after rooted you can remove and disable all useless apps and services you don't need to use, that's all I did, the results are 1.5 day and 6hrs SOT(screen on time), for me this is more than enough, I know a lot of people will suggest waiting for the Note 5, but just think about the price, the Note 4 is almost a year old and still between $650+ - $750,(depending on the market) I didn't want to wait for the Note 5 cuz I know it will be around if not more than $1k, also, at least the Exynos model its almost the same as the new Galaxy S6, same CPU except our chip was build in 20nm and the new on in 14 nm, we also have almost the same camera, overall the Note 4 still an excellent device, maybe you have enough $$$ or not, but I will stick to my Note 4 and if I like something about the Note 5 I just wait to be ported, like I was running a Note 4 Rom ported on my Note 2, well I hope you decide to meet your needs, but this device its beyond awesome, god bless, cheers:fingers-crossed:

I purchased the N910C Exynos variant, and upgraded to Lollipop out of the box. I've had no problems with battery life, regularly getting 5-6 hours of screen on time, with 10-20% battery left at the end of the day. Just follow the standard advice for taking care of battery usage and be careful what apps you have running in the background. The Exynos variant has a Wolfson DAC, so it's great for listening to music - I finally parted company with my trusty Sony Walkman as the music playback on the Note 4 was so good. Can't speak for the audio on the Snapdragon variant though as it has different circuitry.

No. Only things better on S7 is IP68 and microSD slot. It will be great to see this in N6.

Nope, none of the new features are a must have for me

- Better screen (size, quality and power consumption)
- Faster and better battery life
- I definitely prefer samsung bloarware

How is Marshmellow treating you?
It's a marketing strategy game, nothing is so that amazing with the S7/edge just few upgrades to the S6 which were on the S5, they are bringing back the old features to attract customers, and thats gonna happen to the note 6, micro sd, bigger battery capacity and maybe IP68
Nope. S pen and screen size. Will wait for Note 6

Yep Note 5 camera stand tall, nothing to be ashamed off. i would like to test the S7 Edge personally to see how camera perform in low light, then probably wait for Note 6 as it will have 4000mah at least.
No
I ordered an S7 edge, but keeping my note 5 too.
I am looking forward to the smaller screen in the S7 - I am not a huge fan of large phones though. Water resistance is also something I will use, so that's welcome.

Going to the S7 Edge because of the change to the Snapdragon processor. Should mean universal Rom support with AOSP & Cyanogen based development.

Yep switching to the S7 Edge for the snapdragon and hopes for asop and roms.
I absolutely love my Note 5 but that S7 edge is damn sexy. I'm really tempted but I think I'll try and wait for the Note 6.
Unfair poll, if it was a note 6 vs our beloved note 5 with outstanding features built in the upcoming note, our votes would be mixed then. I don't see much added value in switching to a lower powered version of my phone. Without a pen.

It's also worth remembering that's it the note 7 is anything like the s7 family (which it is) there won't be a legitimate roots so no more custom roms unless you hold on to the note 5 which I will.
Well to be honest.. this is the first time (since note 3, I think I kept note 2 the longest) I am not rushed to change my phone. Last yr when note 5 came out I cudnt wait to update my note 4.
But this yr.. m like "meh" maybe in January.. cuz note 5 has held up better than any other notes. And I've used all from note 2 onwards. Haven't even rooted or used custom roms. M happy with simple tw themes and nova launcher. Though if a stable note 7 ported rom for note 5 comes out I might give that a try

100%. I am with you and have same words. Note 7 is a good phone but there is no wow factor in it. Hence there is no need to rush. Right now if I sell my note 5, i will have to add somewhat $500 to get a new packed note 7. No way ever I am gonna do that. Samsung has priced it really higher this time.

I agree it's too expensive with mostly software added features. We know Samsung will never upgrade note 5 but it can easily be rooted and custom roms wud give u similar experience
But apart from that.. note 5 has kept up well. I don't remember last time it hanged or lagged. Probably it did but I don't remember cuz it doesn't happen often enough. So yeah I will wait till dec/Jan or later.. wait for it to be a lil cheaper and then upgrade.

Why?
What is wrong with the Note 7?
I always wait a couple months to read/hear about the issues. I'm still gonna get one though just for the micro SD card ability back.
I brought the dual sim model from dubai, and whilst i am keeping it, i actually prefer the Note 5. the curved screen is ok upto a point but there is very little performance benefits to be had, the screen itself in normal use is undistinguishable from the 5, the camera is a little better.
Chainfire also put out yesterday that the SU app is causing kernel panics when root priviledge is required and its baked in so he is having difficulty although not unsolvable and i saw @dr.ketan bricked his although that may be unrelated.
I am keeping my Note 5 for until they release a Curved Privacy Glass Protector for it.
