The phone is stock android, no custom anything, unrooted.
My phone froze last night while opening an app; I tried to do a hard reset on it and since then it is stuck on this screen:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
The screen doesn't turn off, the phone responds to volume down+power button only, it turns itself off briefly, vibrates and then it is stuck on that screen again.
I tried plugging it in, pressing volume down+power button, and when it is plugged in it shows this:
I let the battery drain over night - it was completely dead this morning, when I plugged it in it just showed the battery screen. Did volume down+power again, and the same thing keeps happening - if it is connected to a charger it displays the battery icon, if it is not connected to a charger it displays the Galaxy s7 Edge logo.
There is no indication that the phone is charging, however; after the battery drained completely and I plugged it in this morning, when I disconnected the charger, the phone stayed on, so it is receiving juice.
I tried every combination of buttons that is possible, I also tried cleaning the connection port and using a different charger, as well as plugging it into my laptop. Nothing worked. Currently I'm letting it charge fully, to see if that might help.
Also - the phone's motherboard was replaced less then a month ago, so I doubt that it is the problem. If anyone has had a similar issue, and managed to resolve it, please help!
Edit: I left it charging for about 30 minutes, it still can't turn on, but the phone did warm up considerably.
Don't Panic Yet.
1. Download the latest firmware from sammobile.com or other sites.
2. Download ODIN
3. Press vol up + vol down + power + home for 8 second
4. When you see the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge screen, release the power and vol up button. Continue holding vol down + home button. This will lead you to the download screen.
5. Now connect your phone through odin and flash the downloaded firmware. Make sure you selected correct files for bl + ap + cp + csc.
Hopefully this will restore the official firmware. If not, you can try with Kies Emergency recovery. Knox will still remain 0x0

Thank you for the response. The problem is that the phone will not go into the download screen - after I release the volume up and power button, it does not move from the Edge logo screen. When I did that while the phone was connected to the charger, the screen only showed the battery icon.

Download mode is actually volume down + menu button + power button... Keep holding this even of battery icon is showing while charging. Keep on holding it, it will eventually enter download mode. Then u need press volume up to accept the prompt about download mode..

Do you get no power when you turn on your phone? Nothing shows up on the screen at all. You have the worst brick possible that is recoverable. I wished this post came out before I did a warranty swap.
Here's how to fix: Credit goes to OP
- You need Odin program before starting.
1. Remove the battery, external SD card and SIM card.
2. Wait 10 seconds.
3. Open odin3
4. Insert battery.
5. Connect usb cable.
6. HOLD VOL+ and VOL- while plugging in USB
Got download screen and flashed with ODIN..
Let ODin finish.
*** This program recovered my dead phone with no power, nothing shows up on my screen. - Dead and also a stuck boot up screen.
I saw another post that has the similar set of instructions 6. HOLD VOL+ and VOL- and then press the power button. Nothing happens.
I am curious how people this post has helped. Can you respond when you these directions gets your phone up. Thank you.
this is cOLD. and has been posted numerous times.
A.K.A. Check [STOCK] Odin 1 click. and this does not recover from a completely dead phone that doesn't have button combo to download mode.
I thought that was what we all did to get into d/l

Jtag is usefull for empty or totally corrupted ROM recovery.
But if you see this, your phone is FAR from brick !
Just press the keys, bring it back to download mode
Then plug to cable and flash a working firmware again.
No special tools is needed,
No need to waste time and money send for repair,
Don't waste your good phone and don't break it for jtag.

Are you seeing the Phone-!-PC symbol? I was in a situation where my phone wouldn't accept the the up/down key press to enter download mode. I ended up having to make a jig which basically will force the phone into download mode. You can search the forums on how to make one.

No, if you see that symbol, you can recover using the method in first post to get to download mode. That is how I got past it.

not work so far...
This is what most people always do to enter dl mode.
However, many phones shipped without the button combos needed for it to work. In that case it is possible to make a USB jig to trigger download mode manually. see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=819551

I have the same problem but I cannot get it to download mode. My phone is completely dead no power no sign of life. The only thing I notice is when i put the battery into the phone for about 15 minutes the phone is getting hot so I don't know if this is a common problem for bricked phone.

I had the exact same "phone - ! - PC" brick screen and vol up + vol down + power only took me to "unknown upload mode". I eventually figured out by myself that holding ONLY vol down + power for 10 sec is what takes you to download mode from that particular screen.
Summary: Anyone who's getting "Phone--!--PC" and the three-button combo takes you to "unknown upload mode", try holding vol down + power for 10 seconds.

The guys just turned off my phone and didn’t turn on, didn’t enter into the backup, I can’t flash through ODIN because even after installing the drivers, the computer sees the phone as a ULC1 device and cannot install the drivers needed for the phone, who had such a problem decide? samsung j100fn
I went to odin my phone to eugenes froyo, but odin was not responsive when I ran it. When I got odin back up and running again, after I has removed the phone and went to reconnect it, and was greeted by this image. I can no longer get into download mode, stock recovery,cwm, or anything besides this screen...
Help please.

Pull the battery
Plug the USB cable into your phone and PC
Hold down both volume keys and the power keys
Put the battery back in with your free hand while still holding the keys
Wait for the charging icon to flash 2 times but when it goes black the second time let go of the power button
When you get the DOWNLOAD MODE you can let go of the volume keys
Start Odin and you may have to unplug & replug the USB from the phone for ODIN to pick it up
What the guy above me said. Your phone can still get out of brick. It isn't a big deal.
follow instructions in Post#1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475
I tried both of these methods and tactics, but have been unable to get back into download mode, can only see the attached image. I'll try again tonight after football

what i've done when I get that screen, continue holding down your volume keys(both up and down) and the power. When the screen goes black, release the power button but hold the volume keys. You will go straight to download mode. Some have had better success with the USB plugged in while doing this, I have better luck without it being plugged in.
Take out sdcard and sim card
Open Odin
Plug usb to computer but not to phone
Take out phone battery
Hold up and down volume keys only (don't hold power)
Continue holding then reinsert battery
Still holding plug usb to phone
You should be in download mode
Odin should detect it
Note: Make sure you have installed vibrant drivers beforehand

Hello
The device was working nicely until a month ago. Then suddenly, it stopped turning on.
Since yesterday, I've tried the methods suggested on http://forums.androidcentral.com/google-nexus-4/312151-solved-nexus-4-won-t-turn-charge.html, but that has not solved the problem. Only that now, the google screen and then the cross screen comes up, but then nothing. It stays that way forever.
I tried using Odin to connect, then nexus root toolkit, but both donot connect to the device.
Please help.
thanks

You should see if you can do a factory reset. Hold volume down and turn the phone on, it should go into bootloader mode. From there choose recovery mode with the volume keys. Once you're at a screen saying 'no command' hold volume up and tap the power button, then select factory reset.
No, it doesnt go into the bootloader mode at all.
My Nexus 4 is on and in the boot animation. It's been in this animation for about 30 minutes now and I don't know what's wrong with it. I cleared the Cache and did a factory reset. Other then that it seems to work fine. Running Lollipop.
Anyone?
no factory reset menu

Thanks for that. Today, I could get into the bootloader mode, and went into recovery mode. The screen showed the droid with an exclamation mark. I tried the volume up button and the powerbutton tap, but nothing happened. It's actually as follows to get into recovery.
- Press and hold Volume Up and Volume Down
- Press and hold the power button until you reach the boot-loader
- Use volume keys to select 'Recovery Mode'
- Press and hold Power button for about 2 seconds and then tap the Volume UP button
- Continue through your Recovery Options as normal
* Also, I think pressing and holding power button powers the device off.
Correct me if I'm wrong and good luck!

- Press and hold the Volume Up and Volume Down keys
- Press and hold the Power button
- Release the Volume key
*And once again, good luck! | If all else fails, try pulling the battery and leaving it unplugged for a few minutes.
