Custom ROM is failure, the cause of failure is very simple, because there is no consideration to the Se.Android, the method including the use of the packaging system is wrong, because the device can not use Odin, want more friends to know about it!

Oh really, I doubt that, unless you define security for who. Like, NSA make an app for android to help us fight spam ? Think again, what app would N.S.A. make for us ? You can find and remove the app using other apps, like android tuner, android assistant, battery monitor widget, and others.
Whatever you think it is, take a look at SEAndroid's permissions. Then compare that to any super-user app you have/use. SEAndroid has ALL permissions. Still, the app doesnt 'exist' in app store, app lists, and the likes. No choice to install nor uninstall it ?
I removed it, and among several results, the sms messaging is faulty now. So much for security feature.
Even as security feature has two sides <to be seen from>. What do you think ? There's apparently tons of threads on this subject inhere under a spread of various mobiles, but like this one there aren't always much to gain. Frankly, I don't GET the OP's point in posting this thread..seems it starts off with rhetorical question, then the actual post:
'custom ROM is failure' . uhm ok - what ? ... 'there is no consideration to se.android' uhm ok..what ?? i could go on by every sentence following. 'wrong packaging' , 'device cannot use odin' etc etc The OP is just too strange for me. Sure, I don't get all the jargon maybe, not.
and the the link. Can someoone tell me the point of the OP ?
artojeda> I don't even consider it a security feature, and it doesn't prevent spam IMO. Why is it a feature, when is has no settings ? A feature has settings, right ? This SEAndroid has no settings, it is not appearing under apps, and it does not seem to be able to be installed (or uninstalled) through the app market. I hides undercover in the memory/cache and dumping it, makes it re-load again. With a rooted phone, it consistently comes up with a grey triangle notification message saying this
'Detect Information. The device has detected and application attempting unpermitted actions. To protect your device, it is recommended you reboot.'
OK some questions one by one: WHY..
00) WHY is it called security app ? is it a 'NSA Security app' for android or is it a 'security app' from NSA, what's the difference ? DOes it secure NSA or does it secure YOU?
0) WHY does this app(seandroid> not identify itself in the message, or the notification message header ? Pressing the notification does nothing.
1) WHY is this 'app' referring to the device in question as 'device' ? It KNOWS what device the device-in-use it is, and anyway, it is the-app-in-question (seandroid) that has detected anything, not 'the device'. the app-in-question is not mentioned anywhere, there is just a grey triangle, and that crap for information.
2) WHY does the app (seandroid) not mention WHICH app that has <apparently> attempted unpermitted actions ? The app-in-question KNOWS this, or at least have an idea, but it doesn't let you know. With hundreds of apps installed it could be any app, even seandroid
3) WHY does the app-in-question not tell you details on what the actual actions are/were, regarding the <apparently> 'attempting unpermitted actions' ? It KNOWS or has an idea of this, but does not let you know.
4) WHY, or why, is there no settings ? The app (seandroid) claims the <unknown> actions are 'unpermitted'. Well, if so, what permits and unpermits these actions, who decides what ?? With no setting, no knowledge, and no information of what app does what actions, and what is unpermitted about it, what is one to judge hereof ?? Just trust seandroid on, like "Something's not right, somebuddy screwed up something somewhere, and better sleep on it, and start all over" ?
5) Why does it tell you to protect your device ? 'To protect your device' is subtle, as there is hardly any idea of what is the invasive / corrupt application or whatever it is - nor whatever thread it poses to the 'device'. Anyhow the advice for a cure of the disease is just as wicked
6) WHY does it recommend a reboot for 'protection' ? a Re-start of phone, hot or not, would just repeat the cycle, bring up the notification message soon enough, advicing you to reboot again. Eventually if you open whatever app caused the triangle to pop up.
since all software and hardware are manmade, human analogies are often quite in place. the NSA app was naggin me, cos i had rooted phone. Therefore I removed it. Then OTHER apps are naggin me or slowing down much. Now, the texting doesn't work, they aren't getting sent. As intuitive android can ever get, there is this blue waving ring for waiting, like something's actually going on.. but no. it keeps like that forever. Call it broken handshaking or whatever.
If you ask me, that's just proof it's a stupid backdoor program, it has ALL permissions, and since the texting doesnt work without seandroid, it obviously have a say regarding the outgoing text messages.

This thread has apparently been seriously cleaned up and I guess much of the discussion here is lost, but I wanted to point out a few things. My apologies if this is completely unrelated to whatever was being discussed here.
SEAndroid is not an app. Its a port of most of the SELinux (also developed mainly by NSA) mechanisms to Android. Keep in mind that SELinux comes by default with Fedora and quite a few other distros and is a very popular security enhancement to Linux based systems. If you are referring to the SEAdmin app that is bundled with SEAndroid (both of which are 100% open source), the app is simply gives you control over which SELinux components and mechanisms along with the MAC enforcement, you want to enforce.
SEAndroid is completely open source, and no one has been able to find any kind of suspicious looking code in there. Of course the modifications and additions that SEAndroid brings with it runs deep. Same with SELinux. This is obviously necessary to provide mandatory access control (MAC) to an operating system which is DAC based.
Hopefully I'm posting in the correct section. Found this and wanted to share it. A simple tool to block bloatware of many phones, with and without root. Check out the following forum :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/and...er-remove-carrier-bloat-t2998294#post58069093
Just a note for anyone who doesn't want to use a tool for this (or is on a non-Windows platform). Everything that tool does can be accomplished without root via the ADB command interface described in this topic in our own forum
Nice cross link nonetheless, have a thanks
Ironically, I used the method that you're talking about on my z3c.
I thought this tool makes the process simpler as a frontend with some descriptions too.
It works works on my z3c without root because of kitkat. Other roms do require root.
And you're right, windows only application, good call
Essentially it just freezes the app, which without root is a very good thing, should you need to enable it again.
Thanks, though does anyone know how to block the Enterprise Service? It unblocks itself as soon as I try to block it.
Edit: never mind I got it, had to revoke its device admin rights before blocking it. Annoyingly a bunch of previously disabled apps got enabled again. smh.

Yeah, I had the same thing here, I froze some with Titanium Backup (root) and they unfroze themselves....
I have access to an unlocked and a locked device, the same thing happened when I tried to disable apps @ the one with the locked BL. The thing that helped me was clearing the data/cache for the apps that I were about to disable. (aka before disabling them.)
Try that.

Correct, we had that (a longer time) before: you have to disable it in settings -> security -> administrators before you block it. Don't confuse disabling with blocking. Disabled Apps may get enabled again after disabling device admins, blocked ones shouldn't.
Just for the sake of completion, here is the complete adb tutorial+ a nice list of processes which can be disabled so you dont have to look them all up

Why does he list Small Apps as one of the main bloatwares to block? I'd think small apps is actually quite a useful addition to many.

I agree but he states "You could leave the small app launcher/widget if you like it." . Apparently some ppl just dont like it .
Sorry to bother you guys, I would really like to kill/freeze some apps from this great device, in the easiest way possible and WITHOUT connecting the device to the computer. Is it possible to enter all those commands in a Terminal Emulator on the phone itself? Would it be great if we can do like a script or a batch that disable all the apps we dont need/want so, as soon as we reset the phone, it will disable/kill them in an easy way, not 1 by 1 going into the applications list.
Sorry again if this was a stupid question, but this is chinese for me.
Thanks in advance.

Wow... Great info i really like it...
Nice App!! Would be nice making a list of secure app to be block, without making any damage to the phone Like com.sony.touchscreen, Device Usage, User Data Logging and Crash Monitor what does each one?
I tried to use a Terminal Emulator and kill the What's New using PM BLOCK blah blah blah......it says "killed" but the app is still working.......what is wrong? *in english, please
Thanks in advance.
Hi
I would like to disable my finger print lock and enable pattern lock from midnight till morning. I want this to happen automatically. I use s7 edge. Can someone help me do this.
Divorce?
I don't know if that is possible. The easiest way I know to accomplish what you are asking would be for you to restart your phone as you are going to bed and not unlocking it until you get up in the morning. The first time you unlock the phone it won't allow you to use your fingerprint, only your alternate method.

Yeah. U r right. But its easy to forget. So need an automated thing.
Try Tasker from the app store. There's so much you can customize from using that app. I don't use it nor do I know how to set it up but I have read a lot about it and know a lot of people would recommend that.
Where can I find help for tasker programming..
Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
A phone is like a PC. And always been rebooting for optimized performance.
So what did Samsung do, They added in a feature for sceduled restarts.
This my friend sounds like your perfect option, set the phone to reboot every day before you go to sleep. And to unlock the device you are required to input the pin on first boot.
Settings -> Backup and Reset -> Auto Restart
Other than this, i would be suggesting something like Tasker that has alot of control in Automating tasks like MAYBE changing your Login method.
But i would imagine a change of this level requires a user input (Or it would be security concern)
If this is not a good enough option for you, PM me, Tell me what and why you are doing it. And i can come up with a few different solutions.
I have a guess to why you are doing what you are doing, but i aint explaining multiple possibility's on a hunch.
i.e. i have application hide from my App Drawer and require a password to open them.
as an additional safety method. am always passing my phone around and people cannot help but open up your apps like Snapchat. So yes HIDDEN from all.
Tasker will require the Secure Settings plug-in (paid version) and root access to be able to change pattern lock settings.
Manage Device AdministratorsOn most Android devices, you assume Android Device manager will work without having to set it up. With the Honor 8's device administration security features, one more step is required.
Device Administrators
An app with Device Administrator activated with be able to perform actions like:
Erase all data
Change the screen-unlock password
Set password rules
Monitor screen-unlock attempts
Lock the screen
If you've ever tried an app that needs to perform one of these actions, and it's not working properly, it's probably because you do not have that app activated in your device administration settings.
Activate Device Administration Permissions for Apps
To access the device administrator menu, go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Security > Device Administrators
One app that you'll find is not activated is Android Device Manager. If you want to use all of the features like remote locking your device or wiping your data, you'll need to activate this app. This is an important security app and is a life saver if your phone ever gets stolen. So make sure you activate it.
I can't activate any device adminstrator in Settings > Security > Device Administrators. When I hit “activate”,It just move back to the list screen and nothing happens, every checkbox remain unchecked.
I think this is due to the rom customization, which rooted the device initially.
Is there any way to activate an app as device administrator other than click "activate" within settings, e.g. by editing some files?
thanks!

you have to go to battery settings and choose the app you want to not close after the screen goes off, then you can activate it and will stay active

thanks for your help!
actually I'm using a android TV OS, and there's nothing except a battery saver option in battery settings, which is off now.
I've been googling for 2 hours but nothing actually works on me.
hello, im fairly new to this, im using an alcatel fierce4 with marshmallow 6.0.1.....its brand new to me, just got it a week ago, I downloaded a app called secret video recorder, it didn't work and said I needed to add it to device administrator, so I did, now I'm noticing severe device lag and constant full page ads on any random screen, I tried to remove the app from device admin and when I do it crashes my settings app, ive tried to hard reset my device and the app is still there...pls help
I have installed outlook on realme xt which is managed by my company.
This app gets deactivated regularly in realme xt.
What is rootcause and solution for this
Hi, I've been searching answers for this on Google for a while now but not found any sufficient answers.
I have a new phone that is completely locked down by company policies. I don't agree with these policies and they stop me from using my prefered launcher which needs root.
In short words, I want this crap off my phone!
Knox Enrollment Service is completely locked and cannot be disabled. Maas360 cannot be disabled and unlocked. I read that you cannot root a phone running Maas360 and KNOX the normal way.
Is there a ROM that would allow me to safely remove these services and turn my phone into a stock Samsung Galaxy S8 - or will that brick my phone?
Thanks for any advice
If its corporate policy, they will be notified if the phone is rooted or modified in any way and you could lose your job over it. They probably have strict policies in place to prevent access to company data. If you didnt agree then why did you add any company accounts to your phone?

Thanks for your reply!
I don't know how these services work, but if I flash it with a custom rom that completely removes the old system and makes it into a "stock" Samsung phone. Then none of these services would be present to report any of these changes. I guess the receiving system would simply believe this phone is turned off and possibly after some weeks report that the phone hasn't reported in for X days. Thanks for worrying about me keeping my job, but that won't be a problem I assure you

It depends. I deploy MDM systems like this. Is this a corporate device or a personal device that is just enrolled?

Its a corporate device. When I first initialized the phone the KNOX or Maas360 started an enrollment service that was not optional.

If its a corporate device there isnt anything you can do. It is enrolled at a physical hardware level in Android for Work. It will activate KNOX and call home every single time the device is wiped before you can proceed with any other functions. If it doesnt phone home to get the config, you cannot proceed with the setup. Its similar to DEP for Apple devices.

Need help removing maas360
Hey, so my galaxy s8 had gone through the partial touch failure so as I was recommended I factory reset my phone and long story short I am stuck with maas360 and can't restore all my settings and such so I need to get it off preferably without a computer. (Also help with the touch screen would be nice but not crucial at this time)

I love reading stories about MaaS360, I actually admin it for a company. If its a corporate device you may be sol, you may ask the admin to remove control, if it's a personal device to remove maas360.
Go into maas360- settings top right you should see 3 squares. hit remove MDM control after you remove control you can uninstall any part of MaaS360.
