Hi
I have a galaxy s5 (sm-900f) and tried to flash the latest official samsung rom, ILO version (downloaded from sammobile).
When i tried to flash it via Odin, I got an error message FAIL! (size).
I need a PIT file that is specified to my phone (and the rom I'm trying to flash) in order to fix it.
I know that people asked for it in the past, but I just want to make sure I'm using the right file in order to prevent damage to the phone.
thanks,
Yaniv
I got the same problem. please help, anyone?

Did you read the instructions carefully given in sir docky's thread??
Why from other site?
Go to this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800
Follow the instructions correctly.
It should be working
...
Is it connecting to kies after flashing via odin??
It should connect.. As kies detects phones with otiginal firmwares only.
Btw if its not then try checking software update fron your phone.

Why can't I flash a stock rom from a different country? Odin says "FAIL! Size".
Hey guys,
Got a G900I from Taiwan. I live in Australia. I went to www.sammobile.com and downloaded the latest unbranded Australia rom. Went to flash it with Odin. Odin got about 95% through then failed saying "FAIL! Size".
Any idea what the issue is? I the successfully flashed the latest Taiwan rom with no issues. I can deal with using the Taiwan rom, I'm just more curious what the issue is from a learning stand point. I never had any problems like this with my S3 and flashing other country's roms.

On Galaxy Note 3, Taiwan and Hong Kong devices are NOT compatible with other stock firmwares. It is due to they have different PIT files.
So it may also be the case with the S5.

Admittedly I'm not sure what this means, but both original and active claim to be "BRI".

Ok, BRI is for Taiwan.
In order to flash unbrand firmware on your phone, you should have PIT file from that firmware, and flash this PIT file together with the firmware via Odin.

Thanks. I can do some research from here. But seeing as you've been a great help, do you know if there is a good website for archiving PIT files?
(PS. Not sure what the guy above this comment is asking or why it's relevant to this convo =/)

You can ask someone who owns S5 in this forum for help. It needs root to extract the PIT file.
in order to extract the PIT file, install Terminal Emulator and enter the following commands:
Code:
su
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/S5.pit bs=8 count=580 skip=2176
Then copy the S5.pit file on the sdcard.
BTW, can you upload your PIT file from your own Taiwan S5?
Sure. Here ya go.

Thanks.
If you do have PIT file from another (international) S5, please send me so I will compare partition structures to see if any difference.

based in many reviews, my curiosity tickled me to try the creed v4 rom in my gt s5360. but i am in a hyperion 9 gm final build.. after getting a fixed zip i follow the steps in flashing via cwm but i am stuck in the creed logo. i tried to wait after the creed logo is a black screen but it only goes back to he creed logo ..
i tried to re-install the rom but the result is the same and i also do the system reset but still no good news. i tried to restore my backup rom but mount..failed..invalid argument..

Hi everyone!
As I'm in need of a PIT file for the Galaxy S5 G900F with the newest update from Samsung, since I got a couple of problems with my phone which might be linked to the PIT, I was looking somewhere to get it. I got a couple of questions regarding this, which I was unable to find using the search
1. Is there any website / forum from where I can get the specific PIT file I need?
2. Should the PIT-file be used with certain firmware-updates?
3. Is the PIT-file carrier/region-specific?
4. If yes, would it be possible for someone to provide me with the NEE (Northern Region, SWE, DK, NO) PIT file? (I will love you 4-ever, if this is the case)
All answers are appreciated, and thank you in advance!
If you Googled the first part of your post "PIT file for the Galaxy S5" you'd have found them right here on XDA
Did that

Yeah, I found that post. What it doesnt say though is whether the PIT files are region/firmware specific. Secondly, it doesn't have the NEE PIT file, if that is the case.
PIT files are for repartitioning the phone, they are only model / device specific, nothing else
Ok I don't even know where to start. The s4 i9507 model is a specific model of the s4 released in Australia on optus network. From what I understand, it is the exact same phone as the s4 i9505. What I am trying to do is flash an unbranded ROM (xsa) for the i9505 onto the i9507. I downloaded the firmware from sammsmobile, but while trying to flash the phone it keeps coming up <ID:0/003> NAND Write Start!!
<ID:0/003> FAIL! (Auth).
I don't understand why this may be happening. I have rooted the phone, I have read other forums that suggest to wipe the phone altogether?
P.S please only helpful suggestions, I don't need anyone telling me it's not a good idea to flash a ROM that's meant for another version because the i9505 and i9507 are the exact same phone/specs.
Anyone?
Flash i9507 stock firmware.

So is the GT-I9515, yet ROMs from GT-I9505 don't work on it.
Anyway, your problem may be a result of a faulty USB connection or cable. In other words, father USB wants to try another woman's hole

There is no unbranded stock rom for the i9507. It was released specifically for optus australia and asia. So the only stock rom i can get still has the telco's logos on boot up and shut down, I did see if i could find the file to delete them but couldn't see it anywhere

The only helpful solution here is to flash a custom ROM. Attempting to install I9505 firmware on the I9507 will always fail as Odin compares the firmware to the device. Odin will refuse to install the firmware if there is a mismatch.

Funny you say that because odin recognizes the device as an i9505 not what it actually is (i9507)

And yet, Odin rejects it, meaning a mismatch. Ergo, Odin is doing its job and rejecting the ROM you're attempting to install. Therefore the only viable solution is to install a custom ROM.
Could u recomend one thats not full of bloatware? I tried cyanogenmod 13 and it was terrible

Well, I'd consider the entirety of Cyanogenmod to be bloatware since very little testing is done to the source code. However, if you believe Cyanogenmod to be bloatware, then you clearly want to install an AOSP ROM, as that's about as bloatware free as it gets.
If you want unbranded gt-i9507 the only available is the hk version. You can find the firmware here:
