I thought lineageOS was supposed to be CAF but the 15.0 says it is AOSP based.
Are there any CAF ROMs available for the potter yet? I don't care which android version it is is (nougat, oreo, etc.).
just one here on XDA...
Just gotta search...

I tried. I think I found that one but was hoping there were more. I thought CAF was found in most ROMs these days. Looks like it isn't.
Thank you.

I understand it perfectly fine I just hadn't seen any references to CAF in that thread. The OP has nothing on it and for whatever reason I did not see that specific post.

As far as I have searched every nougat ROM for our phone is based on CM sources. Is there any AOSP based ROM for our phone that I have missed?

I think you didn't search too much. You didn't find nothing about halogenOS / AOSP-OMS / CypherOS? They are however on first page...
If you don't see, don't say you didn't find.
There is also cypher os

CAF means CM based not AOSP based.
Both are CAF based.

Agreed still CM goes after CAF. And the above mentioned ROMs are not AOSP based.
I wasn't aware of Seraph's AOSP-OMS will check and revert.
Thank you people.

Hey!
I was wondering which ROM available for lux isn't based on Cyanogenmod? With the current situation, I don't know if anything based on CM is good in the long run (although I may be wrong). Until LineageOS for lux comes out I'd like to try that.
Thanks

On the AOSP Extended ROM they thank Cyanogenmod. I thought that meant it was based on it.
I found no mention of CM on the Validus ROM. Is that one?

It's not based on CM, but it has features cherry-picked from CM sources. It's still an AOSP base though.

No. CM development has ceased but the team has moved on to create LineageOS, which is a fork of CM afaik. AOSP will never be in jeopardy in the foreseeable future as that is Android OS itself without google services.

Oh that's right! They can just use the updates from LineageOS to update the features they got from CM.
Thanks
In the meantime I've read that it's best not to use CM until LineageOS comes out (thus my question). Is that exaggerated?
Heyho guys, since im releasing and build one oreo Rom after another. What oreo Rom you suggest should i build? ATM im maintaining AICP(it Is love) and Validus i also have builded aokp, RR and screwd but for me its not worth. Thats why i ASK you which Rom should i build and maintain in the near future?
I'm still on your RR 7.1.2 and loving it, no bugs and a lot of customization. So I guess RR builds and support would be great.
Didn't try AICP yet but I think I will give it a try

Great news! I'm waiting for Lineage OS 15 with OTA just like his previous Lineage OS 14.1 rom - super stable and clean.

I'm kinda lost browsing the Development forum because there are so many threads - is there any chance that we're getting LOS 15 for our device?

That is not the official LineageOS tho.
We should receive official LineageOS 15 some day since ZTE shared the kernel sources and rom for oreo to the devs of LineageOS

Well lineage os 15 can't be released before ZTE's official oreo update. If unjustified dev would do that, he would get in trouble i suppose. Its part of the policy probably.

To my knowledge, the only (unofficial) Oreo thread that is currently active is @NFound 's AOSPExtended one. He has published AOSPExtended, RR and AICP Oreo ROMs with a lot of happy users. I am holding off as I need encryption to work as well as dual-sim and it is not clear yet that they do.

Yes, nfound made an oreo rom. But that one is not from official oreo sources by zte. Only unjustified dev has them. And because lineage os 15 is based on official firmware and kernel sources by zte (since they made them available to LOS team), he has to wait until zte releases oreo themselves before he can publish lineage os 15. At least thats how i think it is. I dont know the contract or policy rules for that

Are there any custom ROMs that don't rely on the stock MIUI vendor? I know the Android Q kernel sources haven't been released yet but the Android P ones have.
It's that I feel weird about running a non open sources vendor image with an open source custom ROM.
Big fan of Havoc OS and LOS btw.
I'm not up to date with the current situation, but if I recall correctly the initial source was seriously screwed up, with missing/incorrect pieces. Don't know if it's since been fixed or not

The initial source of Q or Pie? I know there's a Lineage OS ROM that has its own built in custom vendor. Davinci-dev on GitHub I believe.

Weekly since the days of the Redmi X
Stable for me is always the inferior ROM of ANY MIUI.
