Hi All,
Just spent few hours with my ACR (silver)
just have some concerns & suggestions:
1. The back of the phone is very slippery.
Suggestion: Just purchase a transparent case from Sony shop
2. NOT able to play various video files using arcMedia, is there any solution?? These files were working on my X10i.
3. Facebook contact pics are blurred during call, any solution??
There's lots of Video players on the market that will play other formats.. someone was suggesting vplayer in a thread I read the other day, but all my vids are mp4 so I don't have a problem..
Facebook stores the pics at low res so when the phone syncs your contact pics to your phone then you get a low res pic.. nothing you can do about that other than putting your own contact pics on there..

mobo player, rock player both can play any known video format
Issue : Not able to sort contacts by Last Name/First Name instead of by default First Name/Last Name : it's crazy.

Tried Moboplayer, not able to play the videos on ARC, same videos are working on X10i with ArcMedia !!

Its same as Xperia X10, isnt it ??
Issue: Calwidget is NOT working In the calendar nothing is coming..
Issue: To Lock & Off the screen, the button on top is quite difficult to press.
Solution: Using "Lock Screen widget" simple one click to Lock & Off the screen
Has anyone found a web thumbnail widget like the one on the x10.
For the video player on using summer player.

Yes it's crazy, but I have resolve that problem with Dialer One software from market.

Subtitles not wrking on summer player.arcmedia was best with subtitles n no lag as well..donno wat to do.

i can play mkv files using mobo player, maybe lags a little if filesize is big and 720p

No man, in Xperia X10i it was showing for 1mnth, 2 mnths n so on..prob with ARC is its not showing Calenders to display !!

Issue: loud speaker at the back died half way through a video. Hardware failure.

1. If you press the home button while charging + screen off, nothing happened and got your phone to show a blank screen and you need to release the battery.
2. HEAT PROBLEM! My old X10i with 9 background application is more cooler than this thing, hope next update from SE solve this problem.
I have none of those problems till now
Only the extreme washed out screen when the angle is not direct is a little disturbing but I think it's normal to be shocked when coming from Amoled to LCD

In my case the screen is a little bit darker and yellowish while showing white color. Any one experienced this?

er.. really.. what difference does it make.. do you have a total recall failure issue with peoples first names?!
I go to the mobile tv on demand website to watch. They got a couple of good channels. Any other websites or apps with other channels speed, spike and what not.
Android video has some but not all. I use it to watch Seinfeld, 2 and half man, etc. Idk if theology have the shows you want though. But hey its free lol

I use Fox.com to watch shows. The sound can go out of sync though on hour long shows. Haven't tried ABC or others like that yet.

Go buy a slingbox, and hook it to your DVR at home. Then download the slingplayer app. It works awesomely on the xoom. Just use the wifi connection or it'll hog your data plan.

I'm using the HD one. It works great
I have an older Slingbox AV and it works great also. It works fine on 3G but yes can hog up the data plan if you use it a lot. A half hour show here or there isn't a big deal. I usually watch when on wifi anyway.
Yeah, tv shows stream is good, for sure. The tv,com app largely sucks, but you can get some free shows through it as well.
How to play YouTube video in background on CM9/P500? I can't find any app that makes that! D:
Maybe we need flash for background reproduction? If yes, anyone managed to run cooked flash app with ICS?

Super video on play store lets u do just that ... u open up on youtube any video ( some wont work for copytight infrigment) then u click on the share button n choose super video n u can play on background send txts anything while playing ... hope that helps

Not working for me D:
When i minimize the player, or lock the screen, it stop playng the song from youtube. Do you have flash player installed on your device?

No it stops even with flash or not just tested this .. its meant to play on top i turned screen off n it stops ... just drag it all the way down instead of minimizing ull still be able to hear songs n do whatever

We couldn't, flash player for O1 isn't supported from Adobe. We need a cooked version of it, but atm no one of the existing cooked version works on ICS D:

Well im in the US and flash still works fine for now but they will discontinue it untill the 15 of this month after that no more installs from play store .. so i guess well need the latest .apk to continue installs .. but most sites will need to.implement html5 so we wont really need it

Yes, on cm9 O1.
When you open the video there would be a add to playlist option at top. Use it and then play from playlist, only music will play.

I will try it again later. There's non problem, if i look for a background player it's perfect if it plays only music!

I have u verse and had no idea you could get your recorded shows onto the phone through the app. I know the app has its own on demand though.

Yeah on my one s I can go to my recordings in the u verse app and watch them on my phone. Maybe it only works on ICS.
When I click the watch button on the nexus it plays the sound but there's no picture.

OK, I see what you're taking about. If u verse also has that show on mobile on demand, it'll let you access it from the recorded shows portion. With that said though, all I get is audio on both video resolutions. Funny how it works on an at&t branded phone... Cause of worked on my vivid too.

Hi,
So xbmc on the ouya is pretty much the best experience i´ve gotten so far on a small setup! love it.
But when i install the netflix apk, its really hard / impossible to navigate with the D-pad, plus the quality of the stream seems to be aimed at mobile phones. Anyone gotten a better APK where you can browse with the d-pad and get a good quality stream?
And youtube, i managed to install the youtube APK, and the streams are looking great, but i cant login, plus it seems i just find the stock mobile version, ive heard that the google tv is alot better, but does it enable log in as well?
Sorry for the wall of text, but these are the 2 missing features i really want.
I have installed the tv versions of both apps and they are easier to navigate. No problem logging in but I do have the google store mod.
Netflix quality can be poor at times.

This was the same version I had already. It still doesn't work well with controller without touch pad and quality still sucks for a tv unfortunately

Did you ever figure this out? My wife hates me for putting for taking out our ****ty streamer and replacing it with the Ouya. On Netflix, can't scroll through right or left when picking when you want to watch and can't scroll down to select episodes of TV shows when there is more than 5-6.

The easiest solution I have found it just have a bluetooth mouse. You can just drag the screen up and down, etc as if you were touching the screen. It works pretty well.
Or you can use the touchpad of the controller to scroll. Double tab and then drag up. It's a bit sluggish but it works.
The only problem I have is that the playback stops if the controller turns itself off.
using netflix apk 1.8.1
i got the 1.8.1 working with no playback issues, and with some use of ouya control, does not pause when the control turns off.
My only gripe is the subtitles are very small... can any dev can do a modified netflix 1.8.1 apk with bigger fonts?
