Today I wanted to install the lineage os, but, to ensure, I installed the stock rom in my moto g4 plus.
I wiped dalvik, system, data and cache.
Then I flashed the rom and the gapps, but when I did the reboot the cell phone was in an infinite loop, but not normal, the bootanimation of the lineage appears but it never stops.
what do I do??
Sorry for the spelling mistakes, I used google translate

I installed Lineage OS 14.1 2017/02/21 nightly
The stock rom is this https://mega.nz/#!2skAzDKL!9VB2h6GpbrqINSpsiMLoenZEpuuCbTVGi8QtR8lWKf0
And the custom recovery is TWRP 3.0.2-0

Thanks, can I ask what region/what device you have as well? I'm just wondering if that's the correct stock firmware for your device/region. Did you let your device update on OTA before flashing the LineageOS build? Are you able to roll back to a backup of your Marshmallow installation?
Also, there's a newer version of TWRP available: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...covery-twrp-3-0-2-r3-moto-g4-g4-plus-t3494337 Might be worth looking into installing given the TWRP version you've installed hasn't been maintained in a while. TWRP 3.0.3n2 is a good option to go for, since it's running stably for me.
Finally, though some bugs appear to have been fixed in the latest Lineage OS nightlies, might be worth using the 13/02 build (or robot_head's suggestion of the unofficial Lineage OMS ROM) to rule out any issues with the ROM, until at least we can get your phone booting again with a custom ROM.

I think that's the correct stock firmware because I already installed it before and there wasn't bugs .
The problem is I can't rool back to a backup because I can't access de TWRP or use the fastboot.
Thank you for helping me, I was able to access TWRP when my battery ran out, which interrupted the loop

Hmm, so what happens if you power off your phone by pressing the power button for 2-3 [edit: minutes] (credit: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70973812&postcount=5), as this may cause a hard reset and possibly break the bootloop?
What do you mean by fastboot not beng useable, as in your device does not show up in ADB or that you cannot boot into fastboot?
Alternatively, are you able to access the bootloader/fastboot mode by powering off, then holding down the power and volume down keys? If so, you may be able to re-flash your stock ROM as before.

I said I could not use fastboot because I was stuck on the Lineage loading screen
It was like if the boot animation was infinite, then when I tried to use the fastboot the cell phone was not recognized.
But the "loop" stopped when the battery ran out, so I was able to initialize the TWRP

So you're back into TWRP now? Okay, are you restoring your backup or re-flashing your stock ROM? I'd like to check your device can boot normally again and is up to date before trying again with the custom ROM.
By the way, I made an error in my last post - I miswrote how long you hold the power button down for, it's 2-3 minutes and should achieve the same as when your battery ran out - allowing you to boot back into TWRP.

I've re-flashed the stock rom and it's working well
So, to begin with, yesterday Mi A1 got the Android 9 update. As I always do, I went to uptade it with Magisk (it worked with 8.0 to 8.1 and with every security patch, so I, as a newbie, thought, "why the h3ll not?"). Obviously, it didn't work and I got into a boot loop. So, here are the [lot] of things I have tried to do.
-Downloaded MiFlash and the latest OS version from Xiaomi site (8.1 witch november patch). Tried flashing a lot of times, I always get the boot loop after installing it. Wiped all data with TWRP and still didn't work. Always the same problem. Tried with with march security patch and it actually boots. But if I try to uptade via Settings or flash the newest room, I get stuck again.
-Downloaded latest AOSP ROM for the device, flashed it, wiped cache and data, instaled TWRP (3.2.3-0), but the system never initiates. It freezes in the boot animation and nothing happens.
-I've tried the same thing with Lineage 15.1 as well. Checked with MD5 in both roms. Doesn't work at all. Followed every tutorial I could, step by step, don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Can any one please help me? I don't know what to do anymore. Don't wanna get stuck in 8.0 either.
Also, if someone could .zip the Pie update, I would apreciate that. Could try that
Here's the latest flashable pie for you:

It worked and it didn't at the same time. The boot animation doesn't freeze anymore, but it's stuck in an infinite loading screen
EDIT: Nevermind, it worked in a second flash. Thank you again

Hello all, maybe you can help...
After finally getting a stable TWRP from @ashyx that finally booted, I attempted to flash roms and Gapps on my SM-T350. This should be simple enough, but every rom I flash either doesn't boot or boots with only sound and no display!!!!
Yes, I'm running TWRP 3.2.3-1 courtesy of @ashyx
Yes, I've wiped several times.... wiped internal storage sometimes too
I'm running the latest official 7.1.1 release from Samsung.... I cannot get anything else to boot!
Please offer some support, I need some help y'all!
-------------------------------------------
EDIT: THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SOLVED
Check the latest comments for more info
I'm having the exact same issues, never experienced this before with any device. Hope someone can help or we can find a fix.
Same - SM-T350
I was able to install Jazzrom but none of the other SM-T350 roms. I can hear sound when I press the power button, but no display when trying Lineage 15 or 16. Jazzrom runs slow, that is why I'm not sticking with it. I have tried several versions of TWRP as well. 3.2.3-1 seems to be the only one that got Jazzrom installed. Thanks in advance for your time. Same issue with crDroid rom ver 5.2
my suggestion would be to use odin to reflash to stock, and reinstall twrp. i've never encountered that specific issue with the device

Tried that.... no luck. Everyone else who reported a problem is having the same exact issue as me.... it's strange.
Here is what I posted in the crDroid area:
I might be posting a little soon but finally on the road to success after only getting a blank screen after boot. Downgraded the stock 7.1.1 to marshmallow T350XXU1BPK1 using the BL, AP and CSC files in Odin. Used TWRP TWRP-3.2.1-lineage-15.1_j1_20180418_gt58wifi. Versions of TWRP that worked before didn't work after the downgrade. Installed April 9th crDroid ROM and gapps pico. I am now at the sign in screen.

This solved it!!! Finally!!! For clarification, anyone who is having this issue must downgrade to stock Marshamallow (BPK1) and flash twrp 3.2.1. It must have something to do with the newer oreo bootloader, so just downgrade and Viola! Success! :good:
Let's get this out of the way. I don't have much experience flashing ROMs. I've done it on a few phones, but I can't say I really understood what I was doing. I'm just good at following directions. So, I know about enough to get into trouble.
And ...I've gotten into trouble. My goal is to install LineageOS on my brother's Essential Phone. Based on directions I found here, I determined the active slot was b, so I installed TWRP on slot a. TWRP worked in recovery, but without touch. I then flashed twrp-3.2.3-0-mata.img to the non-active slot. Lastly, I sideloaded twrp-installer-mata-3.2.3-0.zip. I then changed the active slot back to b and rebooted. It now boots only to the bootloader and not to the OS. No matter what option I select--Start, Bootloader, Recovery--it reboots to the bootloader.
Any help to get out of this would be greatly appreciated.
Lineage can be installed more easily using Lineage's own Recovery rather than using TWRP. The Lineage Recovery is a pre-built replacement for your boot.img file.

Thanks for the suggestion. I had actually already tried that. That's when I got desperate and tried generic TWRP. When I try to flash the Lineage recovery image I get a "No such partition" error, no matter which partition is active. I read somewhere that the flash boot_[letter] command might work, but I get "Couldn't parse partition size '0x'.

Try:
Fastboot flash:raw boot_slot recovery.img
So, I found a solution. In order to overcome the errors I was getting, I had to use the raw command. So it was fastboot flash:raw boot [image file]. Once Lineage recovery was installed, I could boot to recovery and sideload Lineage.

I guess our replies crossed. At any rate, the raw command did the trick. Thanks for your help.
I'm having the same problem, and the raw command doesn't seem to help. Trying to install twrp causes it to be stuck in the bootloader. I somehow was able to install the lineage recovery, then to install the lineage OS. Because I am thinking of trying other ROMs, I decided to go back to trying the TWRP install. Now everything seems broken. When I use the a slot (where I installed TWRP), I'm stuck in the bootloader. When I shift to the b slot, I'm stuck on the Lineage splash page.
(By the way, while I was in the Lineage recovery at some point in the middle of all this, I also sideloaded the TWRP install zip.)
I've tried flashing the TWRP numerous times, and it always seems to work, but the result still is the same.
Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: I was able to get out of the loop by reflashing the Lineage Recovery, booting into that recovery, then doing a factory wipe. I was able to boot into Lineage. But why can't I successfully install TWRP? Or, I guess, alternately, is it possible to use the Lineage Recovery to flash different ROMs? (Sorry if this goes beyond the scope of the original question.)
Is Lineage using an Android 10 security update after January? January is the last update for Android 10 that TWRP worked with. Once Essential went belly up the TWRP devs just stopped updating when it broke with February security update. Anyway, I just thought I would mention it.

I installed Lineageos directly on the february android stock version. (which is the last one from Essential)
Simply by following the tutorial on the LineageOS website.
Everything worked the first time.
So there is no need to switch back to the January android stock version. The image recovery provided by Lineage works very well.
And for your information LineageOS is updated almost every Monday.
Moreover the developers of the TWRP are not the developers of Essential. Company which closed at the end of February.

I'm of two minds; one is just to go with something stock android-ish, which leads me to Evolution X or Pixel Experience. The other is to cut myself from Google entirely, which leads me to /e/. I'm also looking at Paranoid, just because it looks like it's stable. Any thoughts on any of those?
I had updated Essential to the February update; would that be why TWRP would not successfully install on my phone?
Would that still be true if I had flashed Lineage?

Paranoid Android: What I heard is VoLTE broken, if you enable it, SMS/MMS might not work properly.
Evolution: No update in Android 10 since August, not sure they contine to support Essential phone for Android 11
Pixel Experience: I don't think they Anroid 10 for Essential phone, only official Anroid 9 which is too old
TWRP issue: You need to go back to Jan stock rom before going to any rom if you just flashed LOS
What current stable rom with Nov security update: I'm using crDroid 6.12 (unofficial release but from XDA reliable source)

Hello,
i got a second phone for my GF as i was really happy with this phone and had it flashed without any issues before. This second phone is used and was over a year in use from the guy i've bought it from. It was 100% fine and he always used the shipped Android with it.
So i went on, got the latest TWRP for the phone. Flashed it without any issues and tried to install LineageOS from their website. Flashed it and tried to flash TWRP back as LOS replaces it. I wanted to use TWRP install the backups. But that's where it started to go wrong. Lineage seemed to have been gone from that point on. I couldn't get it to work again, even with reflashing and such. I've downloaded CRDroid and Paranoid and tried them but no luck. Non of them where booting up and TWRP stays showing a warning about "No OS installed".
After some more digging, i've found some posts stating that i would need newest firmware and venders. I've downloaded and flashed them but this made it even worse. The phone started to be stuck in fastboot. I got it working again by flashing latest MIUI version with Xiaomi Flash Tool.
Then i've installed TWRP again but somehow any rom i flash does not boot. The phone starts with the MI logo and flashes once and loads TWRP. There is no message about missing OS or any kind or error when flashing any of these roms.
Anyone able to help me?
