Hey sorry but can you explain what you mean by banding issues? Thank you in advance ?
In the fist pic I can see a dim horizontal band just between the paragraphs... that?
...looks more like burn in to me. ...guess you have to be there.

The phone has been on display for less than 12 hours. I don't think it's burn in.

It's not burn-in. This is a known issue with OLED panels. LG's OLED TVs are famous for banding issues like this. It's a simple problem of not being able to supply electricity consistently across the entire panel and some rows of pixels get less electricity and so the OLEDs do not illuminate as much.

I have used the Note for a few days, but it became obvious that the screen at the right side is a bit darker than the rest of the screen... (see attached picture) (its my own picture, no gradients in the original)
I went back to the store in Den Haag, Netherlands where I bought it, hoping to get an exchange, but no Now its in repair )
When the screen is at its brightest, it not really shows, but if its at half brightness its pretty obvious...
So, I am back to my iny tiny S2 again, fortunately I didn't sell it yet...

And just to prove it:
This is simply done in MSPaint. Ive taken a sample of colour from the left of the screen and the right of the screen and put them side by side to show even the hard of sight that the right side is definitely darker than the left.

I don't see anything.
We need a more standardized test though.
If you run the facebook applications, is the right side darker?
The blue banners, or the white background? Mine looks fine, and I keep my screen pretty dim to save battery.

Anything.
Good that yours is ok.
It is very possible. My S2 exhibits noticable brightness difference when brightness is set to too high and this difference is only detectable when viewing all white web pages. But for normal use, the lowest brightness settable is too high for me and hence I use app called "Screen Filter". I set it down to as much low as 20% during night or when bed lamp is on. The scariest part I saw one night is a faint unmistakable circle of around 1.5cm diameter only visible in white background while "screen filter" is dimming it further by 50% to 20%.
I tried to capture with my DSLR but couldn't get anything better than I've attached. To naked eye, this circle is distinctly visible. If you do not see circle in the attached image, please ignore coz I frankly couldn't capture better.
Hint: the circle is on the top left of the picture.
I love everything about this phone except...pinky tint at the bottom 1/5 of the screen!
It's especially visible with white background. It seems that the bottom 1/5 part gets very warm when the phone is doing lots of stuff or charging battery and I think that's when the pink tint is really gettung, well pink.
I will probably exchange it once the supply gets better and my local att store gets stocks. Hopefully you guys are not experiencing this.

Thanks guys for the reply. I've got blue one. It's barely visible as my friends couldn't see it at all lol. I have really good eyes, or I have to say "trained eyes " that I do graphic arts stuff everyday. Color accuracy is critical for my job.
My S2 had blueish tint but it was uniform color temperature for the entire screen. I'm currently using app called Screen Adjuster to mitigate the issue but it doesn't solve the problem because of the uneven color temperature. I really think that the heat at the bottom part really changed the tint permanently.
I'm happy that you guys don't have such problem!

I must say it'll be really hard to find the AMOLED screen with no ink bolbs unfortunately.. I went through 3 S2 Syrockets and 1 Playstation Vita. All of them have those blobs or lines of ink that you can see in a dark room with black or gray background. It's really prevalent issue. Personally I gave up about the issue as its only visible in some limited conditions. Sorry but if you don't have any other problems then i dont want you to exchange it with even worse unit...

Oh man I thought samsung noticed this issue with the intl version.. is it possible to use the SG3 without a simcard? I mean can I access the applications / browser using wifi without having a simcard in? I am asking because I ordered one from AT&T and I will unlock it, I don't want to unlock it then send it back if it has issues..

If you want to see if your phone has these blobs, do the following
Go into a pitch black room
Set your phone brightness to auto
Open camera app
Turn off flash
take a picture of pure darkness
View the picture in the gallery, and tap it once open so all the bars and menus go away showing nothing but the image
Inspect the screen up close, you may have to wait 5 minutes for your eyes to adjust
If you don't see those blotches, your eyes suck, didn't let them adjust enough to the dark, or you just wasted your luck on a nice phone rather than a lottery ticket!

How do you know that the blotches you see after this test are not just a camera flaw? Did you send the picture you took on the sg3 to another phone and view it again? If the bloches are there, its a camera flaw. If not, its a screen flaw.
Everysingle amoled screen that I have owned had purple tint. It is more or less common on samoled. Especially noticeable when the brightness turned to low.

I bet it's tiny, or Is it more than one pixel?
Picture? I'd use the display tester app and see if it's still there all the time on several colored screens. If so, send it in for replacement.
Its prob a small cluster of pixels seeing how obvious it is. No pics too small. Im sending it in for replacemenr for wifi and feeezing issues anyways.

I have one single white/bright pixel on the left side of my screen as well. I just got my nexus 10 today, so that is kind of frustrating. I was wondering with the PLS display a white pixel means a dead pixel or a hot/stuck pixel. I am hoping it is the later one, since in most IPS displays a dead pixel is black, but I am not sure if the same rule applies to the PLS display.
Does anyone knows if there is a fix for it or if it's dead for good?
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=pixel+curer I've never used it but this might work. Worth a try I guess. I would call Google though for sure.

I tried a couple of similar apps and they did no help. I'd call Google too if I was in US, however the device was brought to me in Brazil as a gift, so that is not really an option

Hello! I have had my g2 d802 for around a month now, and I have noticed a blue tint when I am viewing it from the side.. When I tilt it to the other side it began to be yellow. At its worst the screen is "washed out". So I am wondering if this is normal? Or is it a hardware problem?

Are you able to go to a store to compare your phone with a working display model? I'd check there first to see if the display model has a better screen than yours. Chances are your screen may be defective. You'll know right away if its good or not

Yes, I should probably do that. I am around 40km away from a store where I can try one, but I will probably go there and check. I read that this phone had pretty good viewing angles so it might be defective..:/
Just guessing here, but did you come from a Samsung device or any other with (AM)OLED screen tech?
That tech is self illuminating and doesn't exhibit the off-axis effects typical of even the very best LCD displays.
It's normal for a LCD display to wash out and/or color shift off axis.
As to whether or not yours is typical, I can't say.

Ok, might just that the screen is like this. The only solution here is probably just to compare it with another G2 then..
I have these 2 very light yellow areas on my screen.
Here's the interesting part, they don't show up on screen shots. They also appear to be getting brighter.
A new screen is probably the only fix. But I'm curious of the cause. Any ideas?
I have included a sample of the issue.

If they are hot spots (bright white dots) then they are part of the screen and a new screen is the only issue.

The colour is because of a ****ty screen. @acejavelin mentioned in another thread that they are caused by compression for some reason. Don't know how that happens. Like @dzidexx said another screen is the only thing which can solve it. Or deal with it, I do not know how bad it is sorry

Hardware !! Read the thread and you'll see it has been made clear it is hardware.
I have the same issue. If I press on the bezel next to the yellow area with my fingers the colors go back to normal until I release. Could this be caused by the screws inside being too tight?
I would disassemble my phone and try to unscrew them a bit but since the back cover is glued I'd rather not unless I'm sure that's it.
