It's great for an LCD but obviously can't beat OLED's black.
Probably the best blacks out of any IPS I've ever seen in person, or used before.
GSMArena also measured 0.3 nits blacks on max normal, and 0.31 on max vivid mode, which is very VERY good, and probably top 3 LCD panels they've tested for black levels.

Have to confirm what mentioned above, contrast is a weak point of this phone
well, it's not an AMOLED panel, so can't expect inky true blacks
You can't expect that much for this price.
as per the price, it is good not so wow but cant expect the AMOLED quality.
It good at its range.no complain
I'm satisfied with the cantrast. Colors are easy to the eyes.
black feels bright sometime.

Running apps in dark mode, the black space looks like the phone is asleep. I've never seen blacks like this on a phone, though it is my first LED.
AMOLED. Excellent contrast with proper blacks.

Not the greatest like amoled... But decent
Absence of AMOLED is showing its presence. But FHD+ is commentating it to a mucher extent.
Better than most phones in this price range which are not amoled.
THE TRUE BLACKS are one of the reasons to buy this phone.

When looking at the phone head on, the blacks are literally that. Completely black and you cannot see them apart.
Blacks are blacks but with minimum brightness it seems like they are not all black but very dimm. Its okay... 4*

well this is an ips panel not amoled so when you compare to ips black is better than most ips panels out there like pocophone and it takes 5/5 rating
when compared to amoled it is 0/5 no brainer here
so i will give it a 4 star rating
I think for an lcd it's quite good, and I'm coming from a s7 edge.
I have JDI display and black if i can compare the screen from the Samsung the JDI display is fantastic black is black almost like on amoleds
