Hello fellow J5 users. Like in the title, i want to ask is there is someone who tried magisk patched boot image for rooting their J5? without TWRP and using odin for flashing the boot image? I'm using J500G if that matters. Thanks.

Use Magisk with Nougat

Hey everyone.
I try to install magisk on a European moto g4 (nougat, unlocked bootloader, stock). When I flashed magisk, the phone doesn't start. I can only boot into Fastboot. When I flash the stock boot.img there, the phone starts as normal. How can I flash magisk? Thanks in advance.
Magisk With Nougat
Using Custom ROM or Stock?? Resurrection Remix 5.8.2-20170414 offers magisk in itself.. U must try it out!
If you are in stock, install the ElementalX kernel

You can't install magisk over the stock kernel. You have to flash TWRP first. I recommend twrp 3.1... by oadam11 You'll find it here https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...7-1-1-ground-zero-roms-validus-tesla-t3553036 in the 2. post of the first page.
After that, you can install elementalx-kernel.
Then you're ready to install magisk.
It worked, thanks for the help everyone.

Samsung Galaxy A3 (2016) Stock Boot Image

I have recently rooted my A3(2016) and have been using SuperSU, since i heard about Magisk i wanted to try and install it with TWRP but I have been getting error to restore Stock Boot Image. I've tried Fully Unrooting in SuperSU app but it says it can't restore Stock Boot Image. Is there anyway to acquire Stock boot image without flashing new firmware, since I don't want to lose data.

Please help! Trying to install Magisk v18.0 on my J530F, need stock boot image

I have Android Oreo, and I need the stock boot image for the J530F/DS from the Polish firmware, I don't know how to extract it myself. I need it because when I try to install Magisk with TWRP, it just tells me that the boot image was patched by unsupported programs and I should restore the stock boot image.
Hello .here is a boot image I find. I tried using this one and works fine
https://desktop.firmware.mobi/device:323/firmware:18858/download/boot.tar/queue
Try to load this using odin in AP section
Or this one using your twrp
https://desktop.firmware.mobi/device:323/firmware:18858/download/boot.img/landing?
Flash image.. not zip.
Thanks, I ended up fixing it myself though .

IN2023_11_F.64 boot.img patched

Hello, I've done this update on my OP8Pro and forget to use the magisk app to keep my root so I've lost root. I'd like to root it again but i dont have the boot.img patched with magisk to do it; could you guys help me ?
thanks you
It's already been shared in the usual thread.
Thanks you. Its rooted again
Out of curiosity, why bothering with a patched boot image while flashing the Magisk zip works?
For future reference, if you have TWRP or other functional custom recoveries - all you do is flash magisk.zip and you will have temporary root. Afterwards, go into magisk.apk app in your OS and click direct installation for permanent root.
