Hi All,
I must say first of all Galaxy S is amazing phone and I really love the display.
I'm trying to run lag fix via adb on my Galaxy S but all the time it says "error : device not found".
I've also got Nexus One and adb works fine with it.
I've rooted Galaxy S with BackfireNL instruction and also have latest busybox installed.
Am I doing anything wrong? As adb works with Nexus One but doens't work with Galaxy S.
Before connecting your phone to USB, please make sure that you have the following set correctly (note: translated, I don't have English locale set atm.):
- Settings / Applications / Development: enable (tick) "USB Debugging"
- Settings / About phone / USB settings: select "Mass storage", NOT "Ask" or "Kies"
The last setting in particular appears to be important in my case at least, because when connecting the phone I would get a time-out on my PC before being able to answer the "connect as?" question.
Next time you want to use Kies instead of adb, I would suggest undoing the above settings, to prevent problems connecting to Kies.
Hope this helps.

I think this setting is in the "wireless and network" > "USB settings" menu.
I haven't gone through the procedure myself. But AFAIK, getting the USB drivers are important, and an often missed step, in this process. Make sure that you connect to Kies in "Kies" mode instead of "Mass Storage" with debugging mode, start Kies, get the drivers installed. Then (maybe, but it should be better than not doing it) restart your computer. Make sure the drivers are all working, some people have had to reinstall.
Alternatively, you can just search for the drivers.
the best way is to set it to set the USB to ASK option every time you connect via the USB
Also you must enable the USB DEBUG mode under Applications Settings
Since many guys are not able to connect their yureka phone to PC so for them this thread might be helpful. I was also facing the same problem, even USB computer connection setting was not popping up. So following are the steps to resolve that problem.
1. Go to Settings -> About Phone -> Tap several times on Build Number to enable developer Options if you haven't enabled it yet.
2. Now You can see one setting titled "{ } Developer options" under Settings Menu. Tap on developer options and enable "Android Debugging".
3. Now connect your phone to PC via USB cable. Now You will see that your phone is successfully connected for debugging. Now without disconnection your phone from PC, go to settings->Storage->Menu (Three vertical Dots at top right corner of the screen). Now click on "USB computer connection", now the usb setting pop up will come. Now enable Media Device (MTP) checkbox.
4. Now you are ready to access your internal and external sd cards of your phone. Enjoy

The problem is not in the phone, or can't be solved by it
Actually you have to do this via pc.
1)search update drivers and find the update device drivers option
2)in other devices find Android and double click
3)click the driver tab
4)click update driver
Worked for me ?????

Hi,
I recently rooted my Samsung Galaxy Tab A thanks to the wonderful folks of this forum. However, now that it's rooted I can't seem to connect to it via adb. For example, I see the device listed when I run "adb devices", but it is listed as "unauthorized". I no longer received the prompt to allow USB debugging. More precisely, I can still access the developer options and see that "USB debugging" is enabled, I just don't receive the pop-up prompt to "Allow USB debugging?" that list my local computer's RSA fingerprint/etc after I plug in the usb... the device just remains unauthorized and never asks me to click ok to allow usb debugging.
As suggested elsewhere, I tried removing the adbkey and adbkey.pub in the .android directory on my local computer and the killing/starting the adb server to generate new keys on the local machine, but that also doesn't seem to help...
Additionally, I noted that there is also no longer a button under developer option to "Revoke USB authorizaiton" (maybe because there are now no longer any keys in /data/misc/adb/adb_keys ?)
Any idea how to get adb shell to work again? Or maybe it not possible after rooting?
Thanks!

I finally solved this problem.... I don't think it was particular to the Galaxy Tab A.
In order to get adb working again I had to put the device into recovery mode (power down, then power up while holding power, up-volume, home button). I then went to the terminal application of the Team Win Recovery. In terminal I issues "stop adbd" then "start adbd". At this point the device now shows up on the local host PC when I run "adb devices" (it shows up as "recovery" rather than unauthorized). I can adb root/shell to the device now. This is really all I need to do. I expect this will solve my problem in non-recovery mode as well. Or, at this point I can push my PC pub key to the device and it should be fine.
Hello everyone,
i looked up similar but havent found a solution to my problem, so i hope you can help me on this one.
My OP 5 fell down, resulting in a broken screen. It is still fully functionally but completely black and i can access the phone via fingerprint as long as its still on. I need to get in MTP Mode to be able to transfer all the Media (e.g. the last year of my kids growing up in pictures)
Dev Mode is activated, so after i plug in my USB Cable to connect it to my PC i think i emember that i can access the selection (Charging/ MTP etc.) over the dropdown menue.
I just have to find the right spot to click.
Can anyone of you maybe screenshot the scenario?
1. After the USB is connected and the debugging window appears
2. The screen when you can select the connection mode?
I tried to use the Program "apowermirror" as well but i cant see where i have to click on the Screen when it says " allow usb debugging" when it tries to connect via USB. So a screenshot of this could work as well.
Additional Info: the bootloader is unlocked and i have TWRP, so maybe there is also a way ?! im a total noob regarding this...
Thank you very much in advance for any help on this.
Snyder
Maybe in twrp you can with adb command, install adb on your computer and search (google) about the command "adb pull" or maybe just reboot twrp (power off and power with vol down) you can access storage. Have you some security? Pin or pattern?
hi, try the program through MyPhoneExplorer, you can via Wi fi
